When I met my companion, we were in the underground area right after the sand surfing part. I went to get a glowing symbol, and when I came back, I lost him/her. Later, we met up in the tower chamber, instantly recognizing each other, even though we both looked like the average player or the game. In the final stretch, I fell behind, but I found him/her waiting at the entrance to the mountain. As we pushed to the end, we both happily chirped notes and wove in front of each other playfully.
Today was my second playthrough. I was nervously excited to have a new companion. To my surprise, my companion was dressed in a white robe and billowing white scarf with golden trim. It was magical. They showed me where the glowing objects were as we went. We went through the entire journey together, even to the top of the mountain, and entered the ending white abyss together. We drew hearts in the snow with one other. THAT was an amazing journey. A sense of camaraderie like never, ever, before.
I replayed this after years and found someone immediately, I was trying to go for all of the symbols but didn't want to leave them alone. When we reached the snow, they disconnected. I felt lonely before I saw one of my screen's border's glow. I thought I imagined it before I saw it again and saw another player, with a much smaller scarf than mine, trudging through the snow behind me. I felt like an older sibling as they followed me through the rest of the snowy trials. I gave one last chirp before they fell, I hope they had a good playthrough if it was their first time on this journey.
Other games make you hate people. We kill each other in effigy, shooting, burning, hacking. We revel in other's suffering, and rage and curse when that same suffering is visited on us. In Journey, we help one another. We teach each other to fly, and sing to each other in encouragement. We share, joy, fear, sorrow, and finally contentment. Other games teach you to hate. Journey teaches you to love.
0:00 to 1:00: entering a wormhole to an unknown galaxy 1:00 onwards: slowly drifting through uncharted space, knowing that there is no way to return home
A bright vivid yet soft warmth color at the beginning...then turns dark and gloomy grey...and finally a clear blue sky. This game is so amazing...i'd still play this game again and again with others strangers. The feeling from the game and the soundtrack mix as a perfect balance combination. Rich in every aspect.
I played this last night with my best friend. My family is very poor and we cannot keep up with bills and food. Im currently a student at a university so there's so much time left. Last night, I was so sad, because it felt like life was mocking me and stopping me from achieving my dreams and to make my parents happy. After i played this game on my best friends ps3, i cried. this game taught me to NEVER give up, no matter what trials await, because at the end of your journey, you will succeed.
When I'm on the bus to school, I look around at the people sitting by. The world feels so dull and lifeless until I put on my headphones and press the play button. These songs move me in a way no other songs have. Truly magnificent.
i thought you wrote: "i listen to this if i can't sleep while i'm doing homework" and i cracked up, but then i realize that, obviously, i had read it wrong xD sorry
XD Now that I'm reading this comment again I realized that it's pretty easy to accidentally read it that way.. 😅 Just so you know, I don't actually speak english fluently but I have improved since writing this comment and it probably would've made a little bit more sense if I said "or" instead of "and" 😅😅
From :35 to 1:00, that buzzing reminds me of my little character's life. Like, every time I start a new game and that part of the song plays while the camera flies past several dunes, I feel like the character's entire journey quickly flashes before my eyes. Then it shows the face, and it's like the character was reborn. At any rate, this song's fantastic, much like all the others! Great music for a great game!
Well said, Melvin ^_^ Always remember, just when you think you've reached rock bottom; when you feel like its absolutely hopeless, remember that eventually things will move upwards, and that life CAN and WILL get better for you, brotha ^_^
I don't know how to say this I and doubt you believe me.... But that was me.. I remember drawing little hearts in the snow at the top of the mountain and showing where all the glyphs were and remember meeting a person only on their second playthrough. I remember it all.
i had watched a certain youtube gamer play through this and i loved watching it but i dont have a ps3 so i cant play. but i still think that this is some of the most beautiful music to a truly amazing game.
Don't worry as long as there are servers there'll be people playing. I played this when it comes out, but I still play it to have a break between 'big' games. I'm playing GTA V now, which is a really good game. But when i'll finish it, I'll take a little Journey. Big games (that can be good, no problem with this) are giving you ENTERTAINMENT. Journey gives you INTROSPECTION. That's the most powerful game I've ever played.
I did. I felt a bit ridiculous at first paying $250 to play a game that lasts 3 hours...but it was totally worth it. It's an incredible experience and blows my mind how I felt such a strong emotional connection to my team mates throughout the journey when our only way of communicating is through bursts of energy.
every time I listen to this I think I'm watching nature or animal planet if you think about it you'll know what I mean you could even picture the narrator speak in the back ground it awesome if you picture it
Kenneth Branaugh from Walking With Dinosaurs? No... Jason Damron, also known as The Voice Overlord, who is currently voicing Inside Breath Of The Wild on Commonwealth Realm's RUclips page (if I post the link here, chances are, RUclips's going to delete it. -_- )
And when it is time to come Through the snow your soul will numb When all the words are said and done All your fears been overcome At the destination you will find The journey that you left behind It's about the Journey not the destination.
And on the flight, and on he went, That traveller by starlight sent, To restoration that he wrought And onwards, backwards, he'll be brought, And in that cycle, blue to gold Will walk a spark to cleanse the cold And things will be and were before, A Journey lasting evermore.
"Alas, the Ikaruga departs. Undesired, unwanted them, What makes them go? This is probably none other than the principle of the man who has the reason for being."
Wow today it was my second playthrough too with this guy in the white robe and showed me the secrets too. AND WE BOTH DRAW HEARTS AT THE END IN THE SNOW. I dont know but if there is anyone who have the same experience im happy to know who they are.
I just had a thought... It would be pretty neat if they made Journey into a full length movie with absolutely no dialogue. But then again, I'm just glad it's a game. Yet it's more than a game.
"to whom is beyond," he thought, a partner red and gold be brought, to guide you on a journey less lonely, as for one man, one soul, one cheerly, a man of blackened face and grand, stand to wait in soft tan sand, to carry you to the top, to the light, to complete a travel with grateful spite.
On went the man in red and gold, Through sands of time and ruins of old. He trod on paths where ancients stood, And learned of evil bred of good. Through every trial stood he tall, His goal was clear; he would not fall. But 'neath the mountain, beasts of old, Led up unto a vicious cold. Upon the mountain, storms of white, Assaulted him with horrid might. So fell the man in gold and red, The chosen of the gods, now dead.
Not exactly, I'm talking about when it gives you the option to "Start New Journey" or "Continue". If you let it just sit there a quiet loop plays. I thought it might be the end of Nascence, but it's not on the track. Thanks though!

You can do all of that and more is any fps game
Very Great Comment.
My FAVORITE PSN game of all time. A true masterpiece. :')
1:30 If you listen carefully, you can hear chanting.
Emily Grace I heard it too
0:00 to 1:00: entering a wormhole to an unknown galaxy
1:00 onwards: slowly drifting through uncharted space, knowing that there is no way to return home
+chatoyantreflex 1:00 BOOM11 Time suddenly stopped
I love the buzzing sound at the beginning, the silence after it makes it awesome
Fingers crossed that this game makes it to the PS4 so I can get the opportunity to experience it
I wanna play it so bad as well :(
I hope you do get to play it because you really just have to experience the game first hand. It's a masterpiece.
***** Yea seems like one of those kinda games
I believe it's on the PSN, if the hype was correct, you should be able to download it through the network on the PS4.
It Just Did!!! Congratulations ^^
To all of us
the soundtrack is something I come back to whether it's for studying or just internalizing some crazy feelings.
0:00 This is what a near death experience feels like. Absolutely stunning soundtrack Austin! 😩👌
You're not alone... I had to cry even while playing the game.
I'm gonna cry. A lot.
A bright vivid yet soft warmth color at the beginning...then turns dark and gloomy grey...and finally a clear blue sky.
This game is so amazing...i'd still play this game again and again with others strangers.

These songs move me in a way no other songs have. Truly magnificent.
The awesomeness continues, because each time you beat the game, you are 'rebirthed' and can start a new journey. Awesomeness never ends...~
I have transcended in my travels through this amazing game, and I approve this music.
I cry all time I hear this... I cry because of hapiness...
The soundtrack of this game is so powerful...this track, it feels like it's pulling you in...and I haven't even gotten to play the game yet.
The violin is my favourite instrument. ^_^
You know the melodic part is a cello, right?
I listen to this if I can't sleep and while I'm doing my homework. :)
i thought you wrote: "i listen to this if i can't sleep while i'm doing homework" and i cracked up, but then i realize that, obviously, i had read it wrong xD sorry

Hanna Katariina don't worry, i think you wrote it fine and i just read it too fast xD i don't speak fluent english, too, by the way.
A brilliant and atmospheric soundtrack for a game.
The Collector's Edition comes with Journey, Flower, and Flow, as well as the soundtracks for each. It also has a couple of tiny thatgamecompany games.
You are one of the reasons i love the internet community
This and heavy rain are my favorite games of all time. They are just marvelous.
I just bought this soundtrack. \m/ support Austin Wintory!

Well said, Melvin ^_^ Always remember, just when you think you've reached rock bottom; when you feel like its absolutely hopeless, remember that eventually things will move upwards, and that life CAN and WILL get better for you, brotha ^_^
The moment when I finished journeying i was crying.
Thank you
such beauty... where did you think of such words?....
That's the greatest thing i've ever heard
I don't know how to say this I and doubt you believe me.... But that was me.. I remember drawing little hearts in the snow at the top of the mountain and showing where all the glyphs were and remember meeting a person only on their second playthrough. I remember it all.

Rythulian : AH SHIT, HERE WE GO AGAIN.
01:29 you can hear voices on the background
Don't forget the Killzone series. Good old Joris de Man never ceases to amaze either.
i had watched a certain youtube gamer play through this and i loved watching it but i dont have a ps3 so i cant play. but i still think that this is some of the most beautiful music to a truly amazing game.

Once i get this soundtrack in the mail, i'll make it a goal to listen to it everyday on my way to my shitty job so i can at least feel calm.
I just saw it for sale on Amazon and Barnes and Noble, so it's actually really easy to find.
It's a blessing
I did. I felt a bit ridiculous at first paying $250 to play a game that lasts 3 hours...but it was totally worth it. It's an incredible experience and blows my mind how I felt such a strong emotional connection to my team mates throughout the journey when our only way of communicating is through bursts of energy.
That entire first minute.
as if i was crossing over and i landed in their world.
Nothing i have ever listened to has literally ripped me from my body.
This is the most beautiful game ever created
This track is the Call to Action, it's meant to create just those feelings
every time I listen to this I think I'm watching nature or animal planet
if you think about it you'll know what I mean
you could even picture the narrator speak in the back ground it awesome if you picture it

Pewds brought me here! This is amazing!!!!! the music the story!! just WOW
nominated for a grammy =D
And when it is time to come
Through the snow your soul will numb
When all the words are said and done
All your fears been overcome
At the destination you will find
The journey that you left behind
It's about the Journey not the destination.
I love how everyone draws hearts in the snow at the top.
Oh, they don't?..
I guess I was the one in white, playing with you then :3
increible... me encanta es emotivo hasta la medula sin dar una palabra!!!!
If I were playing Journey right now, here's how I would describe this game:
Ding dong ding ding dong dong dong ding ding dong DOOOOONG
Yes they do! :)
Love this. Also the cello part reminds me of Korra. Definitely not a bad thing :)
This game deserve it! I understand how you feel^^
Heartbreaking...
And on the flight, and on he went,
That traveller by starlight sent,
To restoration that he wrought
And onwards, backwards, he'll be brought,
And in that cycle, blue to gold
Will walk a spark to cleanse the cold
And things will be and were before,
A Journey lasting evermore.
Thats deep bro
Couldn't have said it better myself.
One of the best decisions you could make.
me too
i wanna play it so bad
You don't need to explain we all understand what you think just from hearing it.
"Alas, the Ikaruga departs.
Undesired, unwanted them,
What makes them go?
This is probably none other than
the principle of the man who has the reason for being."
the music of this game really made feel better after not being accepted in the university
Journey+The Walking Dead( two games that are completely different) have in my opinion the deepest soundtracks in gaming history.
Wow today it was my second playthrough too with this guy in the white robe and showed me the secrets too. AND WE BOTH DRAW HEARTS AT THE END IN THE SNOW. I dont know but if there is anyone who have the same experience im happy to know who they are.
I legit just love life when I listen to this shit.... ah
I just had a thought... It would be pretty neat if they made Journey into a full length movie with absolutely no dialogue.
But then again, I'm just glad it's a game. Yet it's more than a game.
0:18 would buy the game just hear this
Ben burda kalıyorum
"to whom is beyond," he thought,

as for one man, one soul, one cheerly,
a man of blackened face and grand,
stand to wait in soft tan sand,

I can't believe i would never have found this game if Pewdiepie hadn't played it D: Y U SO BEUTIFULL???
I'm not the only one!!!
look in the description first then ask questions
On went the man in red and gold,
Through sands of time and ruins of old.
He trod on paths where ancients stood,
And learned of evil bred of good.
Through every trial stood he tall,
His goal was clear; he would not fall.
But 'neath the mountain, beasts of old,
Led up unto a vicious cold.
Upon the mountain, storms of white,
Assaulted him with horrid might.
So fell the man in gold and red,
The chosen of the gods, now dead.
i cried at the end of the game
Listen to the song ''A horse with no name''
Not exactly, I'm talking about when it gives you the option to "Start New Journey" or "Continue". If you let it just sit there a quiet loop plays. I thought it might be the end of Nascence, but it's not on the track. Thanks though!
demo is also awesome
THEM MANLY TEARS! ;')
I just did it, a week ago.
I and I suppose the others as well made it up on the spot.
I can just imagine this song when going through a portal to another world
Seriously f&^king beautiful music!!!! :O
Is there any other way to purchase this album than iTunes? Other webpages, maybe physical copy? Bonus points for DRM-Free material.
falls on floor and cries
I'm looking for the title screen version of this track. It's just a short loop that sounds much like 1:50 but I don't think it was released =\
exactly how do you listen to this song in the shower? you set up an ihome station with your ipod in the bathroom and then shower?
