  • Artist Tweedtone 20R Demo of Tones plus quick introduction. It starts out with the strat tones for first half and then the Humbucker tones for the second half. I was going to cut out more as it's fairly long however I wanted to cover as many tones as possible. Used My Fender Players Series Stratocaster for single coil tones and My Artist LP59 Les Paul style Guitar for Humbucker Tones.
    $499-$579 Australian dollars for the TweedTone 20R and I believe that Artist Guitars are now available in more countries now.
    Recorded Using a ZOOM Q8. The ZOOM Q8 records audio fantastically however the draw back is the fisheye lens that sometimes makes me look like a round ball lol. Any background noise will be the aircon as it was around 47°c today in Newy Australia or could be one of my 4 loud boys.

    Do you find this bad boy excessively bright? I find i have to back the treble to almost off, and rolled down my teles tone knob, to tone down the icepack top end

      Yeah it's a very bright more Fender than Vox tone. You definitely notice it more when you play it loud. In the bedroom not so much. I think that the brightness is useful though when you start adding pedals as some pedals can muddy up your tone. I reckon swapping out the speaker would help though with the icepick top end. The speaker has the single biggest effect on all amp tone.

    Thanks for the demo, I am really tossing up between the tweedtone and the cremetone. The cremetone has the FX loop and is on sale. The tweedtone seems more popular and has many 5 star reviews. I purchased the Artist TC 59 a while ago and those bull bucker pickups are amazing. You have an awesome rig but.... have you checked your guitars intonation? It could really help your sound. I purchased the Joyo power tune. This pedal is incredibly accurate, I successfully set the intonation myself (so easy with this tuner). Power tune can also power many other pedals.
    Nux Masamune comp/boost pedal will give you that real RHCP guitar sound. Watch the demo video on the website. This guitar and amp can really perform. I am not associated with Artist in anyway.

      In the blues did a review of the Tweedtone VS Cremetone and the Tweedtone seemed to be quite a bit better overall and you could definitely hear it in the video. Just a shame the Tweedtone doesn't have an effects loop although I'm not really into modulation that much, other than reverb and a little tiny bit of delay so it wasn't really a deal breaker for me. Plus the built in Reverb is really nice. And yes my intonation was out a tiny bit on the LP59. I hadn't done a setup on it before the demo. It was pretty bad to say the least however for the price I expected that. I've had more expensive guitars with worse setups though.🤘👍

      @@ClintsGuitarsNGear I watched the "in the blues" demo of the amps. In that video the tweedtone sounds better. The cremetone is $499 at the moment. I know a guy, who I would say has "all the gear and no idea" He proudly says "I don't use pedals" I had to explain that pedals are not just distortion, delay and phaser etc. The pedals that help the most are tuner, Compressor, boost, EQ , noisegate.

    Cheers mate. How long did you think it took to play the speaker in please. Any help would be thoroughly appreciated. If I may ask you. I found a picture of it open. Am I right in thinking that the valves aren't mounted on the circuit board. They're wired onto it. That's awesome if that's correct. Lovely clean You gig bro? Danelectro spotting, lol. I've got two Dearmonds, so lucky, they're beautiful. I really wanted one of each. But you know budget problems. I think they're r ight, saying it's Crossing as a marshall do area. The valves contribute I guess. Could you gig with this? Reverb night be on? Sounds nice. But I've already got a stupid mount of fx. Oh one more question. Have you happened to experiment with valves stop like her 12AU7 or something. You know for the Headroom thing. lol

      I'm not really sure how the long it took to break in the speaker as it sounded great the day I got it. I've never really looked into the wiring sorry. I think others have swapped out the tubes however mine is all stock. They're really loud. You could do a gig with it easily. I know others that use them for gigs all the time. I have a 100 watt Boss Katana MK2 212 I use for gigs on occasions though so I keep the Artist tweed tone at home. They're almost their own kinda sound though and are not really Fender or Vox sounding as much as they seem to lean more towards a Marshall type tone I've found which is strange considering the types of tubes they run. The drive channel does get quite gainey for an EL84 Powered amp. Maybe it's because of the pre amp type tubes it uses.

    Takes pedals ok? I rarely use Tubescreamers these days. Fuzz, Blues Drivers and others. Treble Boosters.

    • @ClintsGuitarsNGear
      @ClintsGuitarsNGear  3 года назад

      Yeah not too bad as a pedal platform. I've gone off pedals a lot myself recently unless I'm chasing a specific tone like fuzz. I've found I can almost get everything I'm after using my BOSS KATANA and the footswitch.

      @ClintsGuitarsNGear  4 года назад +2

      Yeah it was in perfect condition. I haven't had any problems with the shipping from Artist Guitars. It had an outer plus an inner box so it was farely thick cardboard. I don't recall if it had any foam protection though. Still in all it's a really tough and sturdy amp build wise.

    Would you say it’s great for classic rock like AC/DC and led zeppelin

    • @ClintsGuitarsNGear
      @ClintsGuitarsNGear  3 года назад +1

      Yeah would be ok. For some tones you'd need a Marshall sounding pedal though as it's more in the FENDER/VOX territory gain wise.

    • @angus9165
      @angus9165 3 года назад +1

      @@ClintsGuitarsNGear yeah. I tried it out at the artist store in Sydney and even though it is more like a VOX, I was still able to get a nice classic rock tone like AC/DC

    • @ClintsGuitarsNGear
      @ClintsGuitarsNGear  3 года назад +1

      Yeah it's versatile. ACDC is achievable as it has a little bit more gain than a VOX. Could probably just use a Tube Screamer alone to get most of the tones you need.

    Can you gig with this amp? I’ve been looking at this amp for awhile.

    • @ClintsGuitarsNGear
      @ClintsGuitarsNGear  4 года назад +1

      Yes you could definitely gig with it in a pub or club venue. It's a very loud 20 watts. If I'd gone any louder in my demo I would definitely need earplugs. I also have a 20w JOYO BANTAMP ZOMBIE and the ARTIST tweedtone is louder imo than the JOYO.

      Hell, yes. Maybe not in a loud metal band, but for blues or classic rock pub gigs this is a great little amp.

  • @changestrangers
    @changestrangers 3 года назад +1

    Is this a good amp for home use? Or would it be too loud?

    • @ClintsGuitarsNGear
      @ClintsGuitarsNGear  3 года назад

      It is very loud. You could easily do a small gig with it. In saying that though it is still usable at lower volumes especially with pedals as its also a great pedal platform. It definitely needs to be cranked though for the tubes to bring out it's best. They do a 5 watt Tweed now though which is much better for home use.

    • @ClintsGuitarsNGear
      @ClintsGuitarsNGear  3 года назад +2

      Yes it is for sure. I think the only amp that is capable of everything is the Boss Katana because it sound great at high and low volumes at still has that tube amp sag and feel.
