It is awesome!!! I mean it! Finally, I saw the most complete and effective explanation of gait cycles and common abnormal gait. I would suggest this amazing helpful video to all PT and related field students. This much of proficiency in showing abnormal gaits illustrates a very accurate and expert observing of patients! Well done :)
I found this video very, very, informative, for a number of reasons, one being, that, I have not seen any other similar video, by anyone else, which makes this a very unique one !!! Furthermore,I found the language, and accent, very easy on my ears, altogether. it was a very well thought out, and well made video, keep up the good work.

7:41 the different abnormalities described are foot slap/foot drag.. stoppage gait would be more excessive hip and knee flexion (high knees) on affected limb
Such a clear explanation and illustration of the gait cycle and common abnormalities. I understood this presentation straight away after searching loads on this topic! Well done and thank you soooooo much! :)
The best illustration of Gait ever I have seen ! Keep up the Good work ! Please if you can clarify whether the bilateral lurching is same as waddling gait
As a nursing student they called the Hypokenetic gait a Propulsive gait. I saw the Steppage gait, but not the Scissor gait, Spastic gait (Hyperkenetic?), Waddling gait. Thank you however for your demonstration.
Hello, I am a 12 year old and my dad is a personal trainer. After telling me that my hips are messed up and I walk weird, he told me to watch this lmao
Excellent explanation of the various gaits. The Trendelenburg explanation you give as an apparent contradiction. You say that if the left hip abductors are weak the person will lean to the right to compensate. Then you say that if the left hip doctors abductors are weak the person will lean to the left. I suspect if they're leaning to the right then it's the left hip abductors which are weak.
Very good video with solid demonstrations and a well worded explanation. I notice when you are not demonstrating and sometimes a nit during demonstrations that your left foot is everted slightly. Do you perhapse like myself tend to put more weight on your left leg and struggle somewhat to push off properly onto your right side? Or is it a non symptomatic preference or perhapse a short term injury compensatory measure.
Thank you so much for this walking exercises, I found out that I loose balance when I walk and swayed side to side and I also get cramps on my leg, so if I may ask, incase I practice this daily will I gain balance when I walk and also will I have a much more smother walking? Bcuz I walk alot and I'm beginning to find it hard to walk now, due to the problems listed above, thank u for listening. Will be expecting your reply,😊 any tips or exercises to do would help alot... Bye.
Thanks Lenita, we'll make a video about that topic as well. For now check out another video we made about Postural Assessment ruclips.net/video/R2XIUt5wA20/видео.html
I was just diagnosed with tis when the dr had me do heel to toe like when police offers do thier test and I have always had great balance and 😫 not now tho😪
@@mockingbird3099 They first started treating me for ALS and while testing for that They started looking at my throat after some blood work so thier seeing if its cancer in my throat. The list just goes on and on.. I'm scared to talk about it because I feel like I get attacked with my words and they came back on me. Does that make sense?
@@juliemarvin101 I am very sorry to learn of your diagnosis. I read, however, that a percentage of people do survive the illness for more than 10 years. I hope you are one of those more fortunate people. The reason I ask is that the symptom you described, of not being able to “walk the line” is similar to a symptom I suffered due to cancer and therapy, to a blood cancer, specifically, and the muscular de-conditioning from a stem cell transplant. These are very dissimilar to ALS, but they involve neuropathy, apparently. I worked very hard to overcome this. I have been practicing Tai Chi every day for about a year and a half and can now almost “walk the line” without falling over to my left or right. I don’t know about your words coming back on you, but I am sure these afflictions you endure are not your fault. Anyone who says so is a “Job’s Comforter.” I wish you very well.
