Very good video! I just got back from Harbor Freight with this steam cleaner. I am anxious to try it, especially on my tan-colored seat belts. Thanks for sharing this video! I gave, on sale, $89.99, Parking Lot Sale tody, 8/20/2023.
I liked the one that my boss got for me at work that I bought one for my house! Worked for old hard kitchen grease, grout, tile base boards, walls, you name it! No chemicals...distilled water only! I paid $119.00 + tax. Every home should have one!
I have the same one. And yes, use only distilled water in it. Mine plugged up after about 6 months and had to clean it out. It works amazingly well. Start the spray before you apply it to the area as it shoots the water out of the nozzle before the steam gets there. I've had it well over a year and used it on everything except my Durango interior that I bought it for. Catch them on sale and with a 20 percent off coupon and you can't beat the deal.
I bought one yesterday and returned it within 45 mins. Lost more steam through the handle and after about 5 10mins of use handle got so hot could hold it anymore.
I don't know how well yours held up but I had to exchange for another one twice. I think 6 months was the longest one lasted. I ended up moving to the Dupray line of steam cleaners, and they kick ass. I first got the Neat which lasted 5 years even though I abused the heck out of it. Now, I have the Home. The pressure is better in the Duprays and they get a lot hotter than the Central Machinery.
I know you said the car was beater, but you can get serious cleaning using the steamer WITH a cleaner. Just soak the seats and/or carpet and tgat steam will be like Superman sucking up the lake in Superman 2
100, removed smoke stains from mobil home , degreaser alone didnt work. 15 years of smoke. Brought my steamer and it took it right off. My steamer already payed for itself
It’s pretty efficient. I picked one up and did two cars. Have to be careful with cars with certain interior trims did one door on a Prius that has plastic and leather the leather wrinkled up so have to keep the steam away from it almost as it’s cardboard backing . I also did a Chevy Colorado and that has almost like a painted shiny plastic near the cupholders and I fogged up the finish.
Nice little machine! Might need to invest in one for de-greasing hard to reach parts or areas. Soak them overnight in simple green and hit it with the steam. Might need to clean my scout engine block with it.... Thanks for the vid Hank!
Please don't. If you do buy a McMullan 1270 or 1275. Please read reviews on this harbor freight steam cleaner. This particular steam cleaner will give you severe burns handle to hot to hold after 5 mins of use.
I bought one of these, i'll update tomorrow. I got into a decent deal for a Ram 1500 but the previous owner used it for fishing, smoking & all kinds of things and it's covered with mud, nicotine.. overall just gross but hoping it'll be recoverable.
I wanted to ask if you are still using it? Has it held up? do the seals leak? I'm asking based on reviews saying people have been burned, and leaky seals. So I figure you had it for a couple years now.
The car looks clean but the rag doesn’t look that dirty (unless you kept grabbing new ones). It’s almost like it dissolves the dirt or something. Nice unit especially for the money!
It looks like a steam cleaner can't blast things clean like a pressure washer. Are they mostly used to disinfect for germs and things? Or will they remove oil/crud in hard to reach areas?
I got the same one brand new used it for the first time and noticed that the steam pressure did not last long at all I couldn’t do a whole door panel without having to stop and let it build back up am I using it wrong or is it defective?
For the price difference, do you recommend this HF steamer over the McCulloch steamer? Will be used to detail cars mainly, occasionally a few times a month probably.
Have yourself an air compressor too or a shop vac that has blowing ability so that you can blow the excess water out of all of the cracks and crevices. You do not want that sitting in your electronic controls.

@@hanksgarage_ they are just switches and no other electronics are located in there. It will dry out quickly. I would recommend doing this on a nice hot summer day and then parking in the sun with windows down a little bit to let it heat up but allow moisture to escape vehicle.
I just bought one recently for my wife and noticed that as much steam as it produces, there is also an excessive amount of water that comes with it. Anyone else have this issue?
Does anyone know where to get extra scrubbers? Also the small o ring on the concentrator wore out and I can't find one small enough to work with the accessories. Regular o rings are to fat and scrubbers won't fit. Any suggestions.
