Nice to see people from the other side of the world loving Italian cars. Even more when poor management is ruining those brands. Well, all but Ferrari. But Alfa, Lancia and Fiat are a thing of the past. Collect them now, because there will never be more of them.

@@garage011 wise words indeed, especially coming from a connoisseur like you Alex. Definitely a hidden gem what we have here, I'll make sure to document more of this stuff in the future

Thanks a lot Howard, they say good things come with patience and hard work. Love the way you looked after our beloved Lancia, nice to see like-minded people sharing the same passion. See you at the next one!

Nice meet! Sort of makes me want to move back to Auckland and import an Italian classic. However, looks like a missed opportunity for someone to bring a coffee/food/ice cream truck and participants to bring some portable tables and chairs to enhance the meet. Maybe a good area for someone to establish an automotive-themed cafe, as there's clearly plenty of out of normal business hours parking. My picks of the day are the Maserati Khamsin and Bora, Lancia Thema 8.32, and the Lam. Huracan Sterrato. Obviously among others. Cool to see the Porsches, too. Somewhat surprised that there wasn't a modern Fiat 500, an Alfa 75, more 156s, and some 33s, among other Alfa absentees. Alfa 33s and latterly 156s used to be almost common car enthusiast cars in NZ. I guess the 33s at least have succumbed to rust? Still, amazing turnout. Thanks for showcasing!

Good idea to have an Italian car meet instead of individual brand meets. In NZ, I think only Porsche could sustain a monthly street meet for a single car brand. Back in the day, Mazda rotaries could also sustain such a monthly car meet. I guess today a JDM meet along similar lines would also be sustainable, as would a biker meet. I know other brands have monthly club meets, but typically they meet up at a pub or rent some sporting club's rooms. Occasionally, they have organized talks or meet up at a specialist garage or go for a drive, etc, but it can be hard to maintain enthusiasm for monthly gatherings in the long-term in the absence of the cars themselves. On the other hand, this kind of meet should be sustainable with a core of regulars along with different people who turn up every two or three months with different cars that keep the meets interesting. Only downside is when the weather is bad, and let's face it, it does rain rather a lot in Auckland. That said, I'm sure this California-style meet is a very welcome addition to the Auckland car enthusiast scene. Need to promote it more in the car community and beyond...and get some food trucks along.

Too much LHD imports into a RHD country

I actually disagree with your point of view here. If something was built in a specific way from factory and has gained classic status, it would be pointless and unrealistic to deprive it from its own essence. In other words, leave it as it was once made.
