I remembered what Tenpenny said to CJ ,"Homies for life, street loyalty, it's all bs"
"Eddie I can't talk to this guy, he's a f***** idiot!"
"Didn't you learn that what they ran you out of town just because you let Brian die?"
Because he wanted to clear his head there is no one on the back to save him/help him now
"C'mon, CJ! How you think he got that new house? Huh? Just let that "Grove 4 Life" bullshit go and take a look around you."
The Reasons Why Trevor Forgave Michael:
1. Michael Quit Being Selfish
2. Trevor Would Never Harm Michael's Family
3. Brad Never Changed
4. The People Against Michael, Trevor & Franklin Were Worse
5. Loyalty Towards Franklin
I completely agree with your analysis combined with what was said in the video and that's why I chose ending C.
Plus, on a personal level, I couldn't bring myself to kill either of them. I liked how they chose to band together and go after the people pulling their strings.

Hah I get the reference

Where is DarkViperAU on this!?
15:15 When Devin offers work, Michael says "I've got the right guy for you" referring to Franklin, right before Devin mentions Solomon Richards. In other words, regardless of whether Devin brought up the Richards thing, Michael would still recommend Franklin for the job. And it would have been a good opportunity if Devin hadn't refused to pay later. Michael's change of mind refers to HE not wanting to work for Devin, only if he received something bigger (Which you, me and anyone else would do too) just like he did.
And also, I hate how people condemn Michael as if he were the worst villain of all. On the level of Dimitri Rascalov, Big Smoke or even Catalina.
He betrayed because he had to instead of just betraying because he simply could. Trevor was dangerous to him and his family.
Sure, it becomes clear throughout the game that Trevor has no intention of harming Michael's family, he even appears to like them.
But the problem is not that he intended to do this. He just brings this, this chaos. Wherever he goes. That's what people don't understand. Take Floyd as an example. Trevor literally destroyed his life, even though he had no intention of doing so. Or the Merryweather Heist, where he steals a highly classified, government-protected superweapon that obviously wasn't a good idea to steal since you wouldn't be alive to enjoy the money. If it weren't for Lester, I would have condemned them all.
He doesn't think about the consequences of his actions, how dangerous they can be for those close to him.
You wouldn't want Trevor near you and your family.
Plus, Michael didn't betray Lester, as he said in Friend Request. He helped and welcomed Franklin, even trying to lie to the FIB that Franklin was fixing his car to prevent his involvement, only giving in when Dave threatened to send men to Franklin's aunt's house.
He's not as cold and traitorous as you think.
Finally someone said it I don't care how "loyal" Trevor is how many people did he kill before Micheal betrayed him it's just something i think about
Snaking is not an option, it doesn’t matter how bad or tied you are in something you don’t snake people to be killed, the fact that you see this acceptable tells me your a person your friends need to be careful of
@@ajjohnson3416"acceptable"? At no point do I agree with what Michael did, but I understand why he did what he did. He did what he thought was necessary. Even though in the end it wasn't really necessary.
He chose his own safety and the safety of his family over his cannibal, maniac, torturer and sadist friend!
But like I said, the way Michael decided to get rid of Trevor was completely wrong. He tried to kill him instead of simply ending their partnership with a conversation and leaving.
@@Arck171_Br I get everyone has their own way of thinking but there’s no understanding about it because of family, that’s just to throw you off, look how he treated his family, Amanda cheated on him, Tracey hated him, his son drugged him & lied on him by saying he was under the influence. The guy blames everyone for what he did, he only cares for himself & to be fair I rather trust Trevor than Micheal, even when Trevor came to him he still was lying to him, I get that part because he knew he was screwed if he had told the truth, but he did help Franklin kill him while Trevor took no part in his death. If Micheal cared for his family he wouldn’t be robbing banks in the first place, he already put them in danger
@@ajjohnson3416Part of what you said is true.
Even though Michael supposedly tried to do everything for his family, the relationship between them was never very good.
In fact, much of the conflict in the family is caused by Michael himself and his complicated temperament. For example, the fact that Amanda kept cheating on him with other men only happened because Michael had cheated on her first.
But the claim that he doesn't love them or doesn't care about putting them in danger is completely wrong.
Michael becomes extremely depressed and regretful when he is abandoned by his family in the story.
When he manages to get them back and the possibility arises of losing them again at the hands of Devin Weston, he fights to protect them, even though he missed the premiere of his first film that he was dreaming of producing. Proving that all Michael wanted was to live in peace, doing what he likes with his family by his side. And deep down, behind all the conflicts, Michael really shows that he loves his family. Even though he is unable to express himself in the desired way.
In every Heist in which Michael planned or participated, his motive was always a debt, promise or even blackmail that was made against him. Never simply because he want to steal.
Heist Jewelry was due to the huge and short-term debt that Michael had with Martin Madrazo. The Merryweather Heist was at Trevor's insistence. The Blitz Play Heist was due to threats from the FIB. The Paleto Score and The Bureau Raid were also due to pressure from the FIB. In The Big Score it was to calm Trevor down and stop him from killing him.
Of course, several times during the game Michael admits that it felt good to steal again. But he himself knows and imposes limits on what he can or cannot do and soon after discovering another profession that he liked and which is mainly honest, he decides to abandon the life of crime once and for all after carrying out his last robbery.
Trevor is havoc, criminal,i think Michael decide to betray trevor want get new life and forget his past but its rather difficult for Michael
And you think that’s ok to snake someone, so snaking can be acceptable on certain things you say?
@@ajjohnson3416 no to be mean but Trevor as funny and as iconic as he is, is still a bad person. Michael had to do that for his family, no one wants to grow without a father or be a widow. pretty sure he did betray Trevor just so his family can live well and not lack a foundation
@@Klagerfeld12 there’s no excuse to snaking your friends bruh, Micheal betrays friends to the Feds to have one killed and other in prison for his family? The same family he pissed off and drove off away from him? The amount of errors Micheal’s made and people can’t see it but look past it, the man is a liar, a cheat, & a backstabbing sell out & you would keep a man like that around knowing chances of him snaking you is possible? The man only cares for himself. Micheal ain’t no saint & if he cared for his family he would have never started doing heist knowing the risk of him being killed or going jail was high, there’s no excuse for this snake. B is the best option since he created a lot of problems
Michael is luck he ain't dealing with someone like the Boss in the original Saints Row, look what he did to Julius in Saints Row 2 after Julius betrayed him in Saint Row 1. The Boss have no forgiveness for betrayal even after they team up to get out of danger before they could get killed, the Boss still kill him.
That's not what happened tho. Michael said, on several occasions, that he realized Trevor was a psychopath. A legitimate crazy person who had no problem doing anything to get what he wanted, or to even feel good. This includes indiscriminate murder, cannibalism, non-consensual stuff, and even rewriting history from previous games. Michael wanted money, sure, but that's it. Stealing was a job for Michael, and he never hid that. Trevor just wanted it wanted it to be some messed up bromance murder gang.
I am not saying Michael is a saint, and deserving of pity, and the best character in the game. I am just saying R* made it clear why this was happening in the prologue, made sure you realized it in some of the exchanges between Michael and Franklin, and then cemented it when Trevor showed up like a feral animal at the end.
The moral complexity of GTA 5 is actually compelling, you could say micheal is a man caught in a tough spot with a family and needs ways out or call him a selfish snake with no honor. With Trevor you could say he was a unhinged maniac that needed to be put down or he was a the better man standing by his principles and honor while micheal wanted his way by any means necessary. It’s left open to interpretation but I’ll say that I think Trevor was in the right to feel betrayed here considering nobody involved here is a saint and calling Trevor anything but just another guy involved is counterintuitive to the discussion.
20:01 Also on top of that G.I. Brad was also a psycho and much worse than Trevor as The professional pointed out even going as far as saying he can only kill hostages if Michael shoots the girl in the prologue, if brad was the one who lived and Trevor died not only who he have killed Micheal but also his entire family even going as far as to make Michael watch brad kill them, Trevor would never go that far if he chose to kill Micheal.
Trevor valued Michael and his family, despite his family wieghing him down. He was angry because Michael betrayed his trust and screwed him over. I think that Michael felt guilt for betraying Trevor before his arrival, judging by how miserable he appeared in the beginning. He goes to a therapist early on, showing that he is depressed, likely from the gulit of his betrayal, similar to Derrick's heroin addiction to assuage the memories of his treachery. I think both were wrong for the way they went about things, but I think that another way, potentially Lester creating Michael Townley a new identity, could've put his and his family's life at risk. Sure, Dave was corrupt, but no one ever came after Michael for his secret. (Apart from Trevor). The FIB or the IAA finding that out would result in him and Amanda being imprisoned as complicit in Michael's crimes as a witness and his children being orphans. Michael would never want that and it would be the worst case scenario for the Townley family. I agree that Michael is selfish, but after Devin promised him that he'll connect him to Solomon, Michael realized that there might be some perks working for him, something that will make him happy and keep his crew satisfied. Michael didn't know that Devin would screw the crew over. He describes Devin best: "Twisted fuck." If Michael only cared about himself, he would've potentially betrayed Franklin and Lester, which he never did. As for Michael talking shit about Trevor, that's how he sees him from their friendship together, and attempts to justify his betrayal. He realized from their time that Trevor does care about him, despite what he did. Michael's shit-talking came out of fear that Trevor would discover his betrayal and also stress of what Trevor might do, because he precieved him as a threat to his family. When Trevor finally gave up on his goal, Michael realized that Trevor is to be reasoned with and the two worked to enact revenge on those who betrayed them. Additionally, I'd like to point out that Michael was hesitant to betray Trevor again in Ending A and wanted out of it but came along because he roped Franklin into this whole FIB deal.
Finally, A Time's Come for someone to talk Something Sensible.
@@walterwhite99.6 Thanks man, and interesting choice of words
100% agree like i pointed out in another comment, lester could have been the one to make him and his family new fake identities, And I Pretty much agree with everything here.
while yes Trevor refused to take out Michael with Franklin in option B, that is canceled out IMMEDIATELY because he doesn't try to talk Franklin out of killing Michael nor does he do the very least warning Michael that Franklin is coming for him. So he's not much better
Are you here really justifying Micheal’s actions and making out like Trevor is no better? If anything Micheal is lucky that’s all Trevor did because realistically he should have killed him since he set up Trevor for death
Also remember trevor and Micheal never settled their difference in OPTION B, they only settled their beef in the option C, trevor still hates Micheal in this scenario and is more upset that Franklin will betray Micheal.
Trevor did the right thing by not killing Michael. He did weight out the conquests of what could happen. He thought if Jimmy and Tracy and how their life could have turn out. If he killed Michael then his kids life turns out very bad. Like look what happens when you kill Micheal as Franklin, we can expect Jimmy is gonna go through a hard time understanding that the man his father had trusted had killed him. Tracy life could have led to her ending up like her mother in her younger years as stripper/ prostitute.
So yeah Trevor most likely didn't want Tracey or Jimmy's life to go to shit if he had killed Michael.
Micheal supports Trevor’s death guess that’s the right thing for Micheal too?🤔
You know I always wondered why Michael never asked Lester to create him a fake identity.
I think it would've been more dangerous. Say that the FIB or IAA would discover that Michael Townley is alive, the Townley couple would've been arrested and their children would be orphans, probably in foster care or even separated from each other. Worst case scenario for their family.
@@justsomeguy747 His kids are adults.. tracy would do her porn stuff and Jimmy would be homeless or working in a fast food
@@justsomeguy747the thing is.... Michael's face isn't known, otherwise even faking his death won't work and he could still be identified. The fact that this isnt the case means Michael's facial identity is not known by the feds

He was succesful with Michael but for the topic he did it right to forgive him because of his family
I think T valued his friendship with Mike, and maybe realized if he was put in Mike's shoes he might understand Mike's reasoning, although not complying with it, maybe if it was Brad... also if Trevor despite Mike actions, maybe forgiveness was a way of him wanting to be the better person in case, you can't deny Mike never felt proud of his actions, Trevor in another hand knows better and rather move on than make the same mistake of screwing with a friendship, he might saw though Mike some regret.

No reason. Michael's in no position to deem anyone deathworthy. Trevor's not either. Frank went to Lester for help. Lester came up with the plan to save Michael and Trevor. Frank recruited Lamar for backup. Frank, Michael, and Trevor killed Wei Cheng, Stretch, Steve Haines, and Devin WesTon then went their separate ways. GTA OnLine confirms it.
Trevor Phillips is the Godfather of Michael Townley's son & daughter, once you get that life promotion you become more merciful & forgiving if wrath isn't one of the seven deadly sins.

"why would Michael need witnesses protection if he has a new identity?"
Uhh... Anyone care to explain to him how witness protection works? Lol
I say yes but should have nearly killed Michael and then forgive him, so Michael would think twice about betraying him.
R* should've made a mission which has Michael and Trevor help Frank and Lamar take back Grove Street for the Families for good in GTA5.
I would love to see in GTA6 if Trevor and Michael are in the game, if Trevor dies because of Michael or something because he forgives him for back in north Yankton in 2004 in GTA5 and basically have Trevor killed off to also give an ironic death for forgiving Michael, kind of like how Johnny did with Ashley to have her back in his life, just to have her cheat on Johnny with Trevor and Trevor murdering Johnny, and heck not just Trevor Michael as well if they both had an ironic death in gta6, well to be fair in the endings both of their deaths are ironic in a way for what happened but still
Frank should've told Lamar how Devin WesTon ripped them off when Lamar mentioned their work together for Devin WesTon they had that long talk on their way from Paleto Bay back to Forum Street.
Why not? Trevor does everything he wants to at anytime, heck he could even steal Michael's family as well.
Trevor wouldn’t hurt Michaels family at least not jimmy and Tracy

Michael had every right to give up crime and live a honest quiet safe life with his family, he didn't kill Trevor or harm him anyway he just hid himself from a monster look at what Trevor did to Wade's friends including daisy bell and cousine Floyd and Debra (people defend that as if Floyd and Debra were the bad guys, Debra was a caree3r woman living a good life and didn't need crazy Trevor ruining things and waht she said about Floyd not getting rid of a sick man like him and Floyd not being a brave man was right, Trevor had no business poking his nose in their life, then Trevor killed Leon who never harmed him), if Trevor wasn't a playable character no one would defend him, yes in A Michael helps to kill Trevor but don't forget Trevor l;eft Michael to die too after finding Brad, its not michael's fault Brad died and he didn';t harm Trevor before Trevor forced himself back on his life, Michael just wanted a normaL happy safe life with his family, no one would ever defend Trevor if he wasn't a protagonist people would kill him immediately for what he did to Johnny and how he endangered Michael, Franklin and everyone!!

He had a corrupt deal with dave and is transferring 5 figures to dave EVERY month. And for the record the reason Michael was forgiven by trevor is cause of his kids. As he told franklin if they hang out. The fact that Michael's identity was not known by the feds otherwise name changing wont work and trevor was willing to leave out Micheal from the crew to continue it with brad. Lester is also someone who can make fake identities for michael and his family. Yes he had to get out of the crew. That's a fact, doesn't also change the fact that he is a traitor. The whole FiB mess he got himself into was his fault, cause of what he did when steve looked into Dave's files and found out about the deal he had with Micheal
Michael needed out that's true, but like I said The way he did it was his fault. The fact that he wanted to have trevor cap whom was supposedly his best friend. The fact that he would help kill Trevor when Trevor won't help to kill him.
Also this comment makes it seem like you're only upset that trevor killed johnny, blame the writers on that one for literally assassinating his character, the johnny in V is nowhere close to how good he was on TLAD
1 thing where it may have hit michael maybe is when he tells Franklin to distance from him for Trevors death.
I don't know if it was because he didn't care for Franklin and tried to keep any trouble away from him and his family after doing the job for Devin and his associates or if Michael really felt for his old friend.

I have a small doubt with the game ending 'Time's come ' if Trevor knew that Franklin is going to kill Michael by his call then rejects it . Then didn't he help Michael to kill frankly if friendship is meant something in his life or atleast tip Micheal to be vigilant around Franklin now on?/Trevor believed on Mikey that he will Frank if he made a move on him /believed on frankly that he may get some sense before doing anything stupid 😕 ( moreover Trevor knew that Mikey is atleast important until Dave narton clears their files to be clean)
People who viewed by comment pls enlighten me that I said was right or not❤❤

There is no such thing as a "good" rat in the GTA universe. Period. Michael should have been killed in an unavoidable unskippable cutscene.
Trevor forgave him because of the loyalty that Michael didn't feel. Trevor was loyal as hell to his crew/friends, and the betrayal of that loyalty is too far for me. If I wrote the story, Michael always dies when Trevor finds out the truth.
Especially....because the truth is that the bullet that killed Brad was actually meant for Trevor. Brad walked in front of the shot because the plan was changing. Michael wanted Trevor to die and Brad get arrested. Michael is an evil character who betrayed his friends during a big score so he could get off scot free and care only about his own well being.
And the worst part is....hes the character with the slo-mo super. So you cant kill him. Thanks Rockstar.
Exactly my point at least someone sees Micheal for who he is, others sticking up for the snake because they like him as a character and most likely have snaked their own friends so they can understand Micheal.
Bullet time shows how fast they can use the gun when under pressure adrenaline. Martin Madrazo and the Triads overpowered him.
Is this video voiced by ai?
Hmm, simple family life with a wife, two kids and a dog with no worries, or hanging out with a meth addicted psychopath and his equally crazy buddy who kill for fun and giggles, one of which wants to kill you.
Yeah no, Trevor was/is an issue that needs to be dealt with. The guy kills for fun, brags about being a cannibal, recommends that Jimmy should try meth instead of weed, Assaults Lazlow on live TV after dragging Micheal along to "save" Tracy, is hostile to Amanda, keeps Wade as a slave after murdering his friends, completely destroyed the life of Ron and treats him like a slave, keeps on picking fights with a mercenary army, steals a nuke and even kidnaps Madrazzo's wife getting Micheal exiled from his home.
Seeing people call Trevor a noble and loyal friend makes me sick when we know he kills Wade's cousin and then lies to his face about what he did just as his did with Wade's friends when they tried to buy drugs from him.
You can say the same about the way he completely fubared Ron's life, making him completely emotionally dependent on Trevor who then throws him aside when he got rich.
Trevor definitely deserves to be brought to justice as does michael, which the game does a very good job of explaining throughout the story. Everyone labeles trevor as the monster he is, but michael is seen as a friend to everyone cutting deals with the law, helping franklin, and even Trevor sees him this way despite almost dieing multiple times all because of him. I think the point of this video is to show that michael is no better than trevor is because michael never cares about anyone besides himself only making decisions that would benefit his own life with no regard to how other are affected. Sure he was protecting his family, but he should know deep down that trevor is considered family. There’s not a single moment or scene in game where trevor ever threatens michaels family, instead actually protecting them despite how much they’ve changed michael.
Should also be noted that yes trevor kills for giggles but even to the very end when he was laying in the pool of gas, he would rather die for michael than to defend himself
Michael is a traitor, I never understand why people choose A over B.
I chose ending c the canon ending.
