    Loved seeing some of the sportsmanship n respect lot of these players had for eachother including Jordan. MJ and Reggie giving respect before the games and taking about this series going to be a good one as they are getting ready to play eachother. Larry Legend coming in after the loss to congratulate MJ and as well as giving a friendly curse showing how good of a friend they were and fierce competitor each are. Then you see Malone do the same after game 6. Just seeing those behind the scene moments were pretty awesome throughout this whole documentary. I agree, wish this was a every Sunday episode, cuz now what else am I going to watch Sunday nights? 😂

    It would be great to see a 10-part documentary on 'The First Dance' about the first three-peat as well. Aside from MJ, Pip & Phil, we'll have a new cast of characters. The story arc will be much more akin to a heroic journey where there's an origin story and set-up in act 1, presenting the struggles and conflicts in act 2, then reaching the mountaintop by vanquishing all their foes in act 3. Horace, Cartwright, Pax, BJ, etc. will also be given their share of proper screentime and praises as well ü

    The Pacers were a lot like the 1990 Buffalo Bills they should have won!!!! The Pacers should have won and the a bills should have won...shit the Bills were favored to win but there’s this thing called MOXIE that the bulls had and the Giants. I’m 38 so I can remember this era like it’s yesterday I grew up a Pistons fan...not a Jordan fan, I was a fan of a team you had to choose a team but I knew Jordan was a DAWG!!!! that era back then you had to be GROWN MEN!!! you had to have at least 3-4 vets on the team just for the simple fact you needed some maturity on the team.
    Today’s league don’t have the fundamentals or the veteran leadership on teams or the coaching....watching this series made me remember just how hard it was to play some damn basketball back then 🤣🤣🤣🤣 there’s not way Jordan could have been out partying because in Utah you can’t buy alcohol on sundays and the alcohol is watered down to begin with...

      WearTesters you should look into getting the very first issue of SLAM magazines KICKS edition. It has an essential article on the thought process between Tinker and MJ about wearing the XIV’s during the finals.
      He knew with it being his last year (at least what we thought at the time) that it was a way to market that model for the next season. Again I cannot strongly recommend that specific issue alone. It has Kevin Garnett on the cover

It has something to do with some members of his coaching staff. That all started when the book "The Jordan Rules" was released. Krause accused some members of Phil's coaching staff of being a snitch and Phil was having none of it.

    When I ruptured my Achilles tendon 3 years ago, it was the most shocking pain I've ever felt. I was able to walk for about another 20 mins, as I walked off the court, went to my car and went to urgent care. When I was walking, I stepped on the traction of a sliding door at the hospital with that foot. I've never dropped down to the ground so fast in my life and just laid their for a moment. Definitely was the worst sports injury I've ever had and recovery sucked!

    One letdown for me was they didn't even mention Toni Kukoc in Indiana series and finals. 7th Indiana game was almost over in third period and Kukoc scored 14 points with 5/5. He shot 3/4 three points in the game and 21 points at total. He was starting five throughout the finals series and the highest in the team in true shooting with 55%. The series acted like Kukoc didn't even exist.

    I think this documentary adds more perspective on how much MJ has accomplished. I'm from a generation post MJ era and I already knew who he defeated and how many accolades he had accumulated throughout his career. BUT I kinda take his achievement for granted because he already achieved everything before I started watching. I thought he must be head and shoulder above everyone and win everything convincingly and it's definitely not the case. Nothing comes easy.

    Toni Kukoc, the third best player on that Bulls squad, which would have been a perennial all star somewhere else, had screen time in this documentary as much as I did...

    • @Crnicelad
      @Crnicelad 4 года назад +2

      Sorry, but defense matters. Kukoc was maybe the 3rd best scorer, but Rodman's rebounding on both ends and defense is more valuable imo. I do agree though, that he could have much more screen time.

    • @ristovskiv
      @ristovskiv 4 года назад +1

      @@Crnicelad That is your opinion and you are entitled to it. Also I won't say that mine should be taken for granted cause there will be people that will disagre. I will just say one thing though everybody talks about defense and I will give you that Rodman was a better defensive player, which doesn't mean that Kukoc was a bad one. Overall if you compare both of those players Kukoc was by far a better player than Rodman. Like I've said, if he played on another team he probably wouldn't have won as much, but he would've been an All Star a couple of times. If you look at the stats of the last finals in 1998 Kukoc was averaging only half a point less than Pippen with less minutes and better field goal percentage (50% FG).
      When you mention Rodman some people might even have a case that Harper was more valuable in some situations than Rodman, just to point that out.

    I've really enjoyed these Last Dance recaps.....wish I knew about them when I watched the series. Have to mention something about Klay: I've ruptured both my ACLs playing ball (years apart) and the 1st one at a 1 day tournament. After doing it sat out the end of the game but tried to play my next game because it only felt like a light sprain. 3 mins in I got crossed over and it was obvious it wasn't okay. The 2nd time was during playoffs of 2 different men's leagues I played in. Finished both seasons on a newly bum knee (1 title and 1 loss in the finals) and an MRI a month later revealed no ACL. All that to say, some people's bodies don't seem to be so ACL dependent, or surrounding muscles can *almost* fully support the knee. I'm sure Klay felt solid in that moment.....luckily team trainers know better.

    What you said about people grow and change is so true! Like you I hated Reggie Miller, always wondered how no one in the NBA had snapped that skinny frame in half lol. Add to that list the whole of Detroit Bad Boys Pistons, Celtics, in fact anyone that opposed the Bulls. Back then I hated rock music too, it was rap, hip hop and R&B all day.
    Now with maturity and a few more brain cells, I love to listen to Reggie Miller and Isiah Thomas the analysts but I still hate Bill Laimbeer. Now I love to listen to AC DC, Guns n Roses, The Eagles, Metallica, stuff that I shunned as a teenager. Hell I even love eating salad and vegetables. I guess with time and experience we love to learn and experience a broader range of what the world offers.
    And I'm with you, I loved these episodes and I got really emotional over episodes 9 and 10, with what happened to Steve's dad and the role Gus Lett played in his life as a father figure. Totally sucks it's over and like you I want to watch more episodes every week.

    Rodman talking to his kids : " So kids, one time I missed a practice with Michael Jordan for game 4 in the 98 finals because I was joining Hulk Hogan in the NWO. That game 4 I Pulled down 14 rebounds and hit the clutch free throws to seal the win. I went home to Carmen Electra and had told her about my day after we had sex. "

    I remember how I hated that game winner by Miller. Looking back though, I wish they could've won that series. They were really great team. I think the Pacers can beat the bulls in 1999 had they stayed. In 2003 to 2004 season, I thought Pacers also had a chance. I was rooting for them so bad. I want Reggie to win one. Unfortunately, the Pistons spoiled it all up.

    I actually agree with Mrs.Wing. I enjoyed the episodes but it didn't touch my soul like 7 & 8. It was cool reliving everything though. I wish they would've played another year together but I really think Duncan and The Admiral would've been way too much for them.

    I have never really considered myself a general basketball fan, but both threepeat Bulls teams were so iconic that I held massive awe and respect for not only the starters, but also the benches - and it seeped into the other teams around them. Those Bulls teams truly elevated the league and the sport around the entire world, everywhere was NBA crazy in the 90s, no matter where you were. This docu-series did a great job at rekindling the feeling around that time for the sport and players, pulling back the curtains for us, and I wish it had gone on even longer and into more detail about things. I almost felt like starting it all over again from the beginning, straight after finishing watching episode 10 - and I guess that's when you know the show has done its job.

    So up here in Canada, the episodes came out the next day. I would usually have to work at 5:30am those days, and I would purposely wake up at 3:00am to watch both episodes before work. It was worth it every week, and I would watch those episode on repeat until the next ones came out. One of the best forms of media I've ever watched, and really brought back a lot of foggy memories.

    Not only was The Last Dance is over but sad to see the recaps end. I. Can’t say it enough, how much I love watching these vids. I’m a little older than Chris (41) so I remember the earlier stuff a bit more but I feel his perspective the whole time. You guys never disappoint 💪🏻💙

    During the finals last year I hated the Warriors, but there’s a video of Steve in a hotel lobby in Toronto with fans jeering him “yo Steve, Raps in 5 or 6?” And he just replies...Maybe in 8.

    Great video as always! Finally wrapped up the docu-series and it's been fun to hear you two discuss each week's episodes.
    I agree about wishing we heard more about how Phil and Krause fell apart (but understanding why it wouldn't have been fair to have Phil dive into it now), and wanting to hear Mike talk about how the Wizards tenure came about afterwards (but understanding that it would've taken away from how focused this was.)

    Also that ‘99 Season was shortened because of the NBA Strike. The Bulls would’ve gotten the rest they needed and would’ve probably been competitive in the playoffs.

    Mrs. Wing is a low key K-Pop fan knowing about BTS 😂 but I sincerely agree. When an athlete or on artist becomes relatable to people personally, the fans will fight for your game and achievements.

    I liked the Last Dance videos a lot, mainly because of the conversation between Jodi and Chris. Chris, I’d like to point the Pacers made the conference finals the following year and the NBA finals the next one. All those years they’ve been coached by Larry Bird. So there’s the possibility that they were the ones who finally beat MJ’s Bulls.

    MJ was the way he was because he's an alpha. That doesn't mean that he's not a nice person, but when it comes to basketball, like Chris said, he knows what he wants from his teammates and he'll stop at nothing until they're all on the same page. That includes bullying, harassing and pushing people to their limit. So I understand Jodie not liking MJ that much, but back then, in that era of basketball, it was kill or be killed. I've always corrected people about the 'flu game' but to no avail. It's the same thing with the 'Bred' moniker, which makes no sense. All in all, I loved the mini series. And yes, I'd loved it more if they inserted just a short clip of MJ during his Wizards stint, but this is awesome too.

    MJ respects Rodman more than Pippen because he knows Rodman will empty the tank in each game just like him. Also, MJ is a gym rat and so is Rodman. Basically, they are the same person with many differences but with one thing in common - both like to WIN.

    Tbh the last Danced made me buy the Jordan 5 fire red and I eventually gave them to my cousin. That's how good that series was, I didn't care for them, but I wanted to Be Like MIKE.

    Indiana went to the Finals against LA but then got stumped by Shaq and Kobe. :) But yeah... a lot of Hall of Famers were cockblocked by MJ for a ring though and this was during the time that players did not try to team up and go the super team route.

    The story on the pizza is that the other guys had eaten a full meal without MJ, and he said that noone else could have any.
    Also, you can't forget Dale and Antonio Davis, Derrick McKey, and Jalen Rose were all on that Pacers team! Killer squad.
