It seems more likely to me the plug in it's self malfunctioned and not the wall flower. For all she knows, if her hair dryer had been plugged in, it may have done the same thing.

That was the first thing I thought. This would make a lot more sense if it was the heating element it self or the internal electronics that overheated or sparked but it looks like all the burning was on the outside of the device.

I think she had a bad electricity problem in the outlet and it wasn’t the actual wallflower

Didn't that circuit breaker plug worked? There was no information about it. Not event fake news media ever mentioned it as to why the plug in circuit breaker didn't trip when short was detected.

I love those plug ins, I never leave them on for more than 1.5 hours because the smell is too strong and it heats and gets hot. Can’t be good both ways. For our lungs and for fire hazard

It has a self regulating fuse built in to prevent overheating. It's still a safer alternative than lighting candles.

Of course you cant put them under something close. Everybody knows that the same way she wouldn't put a candle under some thing or near any towels how else do folk think the scent comes out to be dispersed? These must be treated as candles and use in opened unblocked spaces.

The lady got the melted radio is at fault because its supposed to have a 12inch clearance above it. Other people have a had complaints like the lady with the burnt outlet so its hard to believe there isnt a connection with the plug ins. Things do malfunction. Very wise to keep flamable items like towels away from them.

They probably should not be plugged into a steamy bathroom 😐

    Oh brother!
Operator error, follow directions for use. Their packaging is clearly marked, twice. On the exterior package, on the product as well as literature. That's actually three times! The website has directions too. One being a 12" distance around them.
I see that neither person followed that.
You run the risk of an electrical fire with anything left plugged in. That includes toasters, coffee makers, you name it. Outlets are always "hot" it doesn't matter if the appliance is on or off. The gfci is a safety feature that helps prevents electrical fires...did you notice the bathroom wallplug was on a gfci recep? You know, the one that was right next to the hand towel and didn't have a 12" clearance? ;)
Common sense also goes a LONG way! And when you lack that, reading the instructions and following directions will help eliminate these errors.

Rachel Shoemaker the fire would have happened regardless of the d***n towel being rite next to it or not. Morons everywhere! Those plugs are cute but dangerous! They get too hot! Just because it hasn't happened to you, (pending you actually own and use them) doesn't mean it can't or that other people are idiots & not using them rite! I'm switching back to glade & airwick scented oils!!!

But the one in the bathroom burned the outlet and wall, clearance wasn't the issue.

I think older living structures ,homes etc need an electrician to check out the functioning ...older place# DONT have safety shut offs..I notice this happens with older places...if your renting the landlord should have a proffe#sional check fuse boxes etc....
City building codes when building structures are updated safety every so certain amount of years so if a building is 15+ yrs should get a check..

I think fake news media should have done there job better. There was a plug in circuit breaker that should have trip when it senses a short circuit but failed to activate. She needs electrical contract to change that defected plug.

Lol recall. Seriously? How many tens of thousands of these are out there and less than 1000 problems, that's just bad business.
