Saw them w/ DGD in October, they have a guy fill in on some songs. I'd prefer a different drummer live. His stage presence is unrivaled. Should be the frontman.
"Still we pretend that our lives do not consist of chasing shit that helps us cope with how we see ourselves." - God damn this is so fucking true, as someone who once used, I can totally relate. He nailed it.
as a recovering heroin addict, this song means so much to me. I love this band! the mix on this album is so good and every song ignited a spark that was once thought dead when it comes to songwriting/feeling in general. THANK YOU Hail The Sun. You gave me 'that feeling' which everyone knows what I'm talking about. Keep doing your thing.
Definitely hit home for me. "Still we pretend that our lives do not consist of chasing shit that helps us cope with how we see ourselves. Everything we say is a lie."
This song really embodies that strong hold that addiction has.. from feeling at peace when you're high (the softer parts of the song) to feeling like total hell the next second without that fix (the very heavy passage at the 1:40 mark)
The part from 1:15 to 1:39 is so dreamy that it creeps me out because it feels too comfortable. I'm not sure how else to phrase that. It's unnerving because it sounds like warm sunshine on a carefree childhood day, and I don't trust that feeling because it's too good to be true and I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop.
I remember discovering this track in the height of my addiction. It's beautiful to listen to and understand after coming out the other side. Thank you guys
On the off-chance Blue Swan Records reads this, I'd ABSOLUTELY pay for an instrumental version of the entire Wake album. Not that I don't like Don's singing, I just would like to take in that music for its fullest.
I already loved these guys but I found this song from downloading a clone hero song pack of user picked songs and this was surprisingly on there now I jam this everyday!
***** you don't have to be rude about it, Saosin was a pretty great band in their time. I don't see how hail the sun is similar but at least he's comparing them to something great and not the murder of babies right?
@joe fef Donovan Melero's vocal style has been often compared to that of recording artist Anthony Green of Circa Survive and Saosin's vocal style.[15] Hail the Sun has been labelled as a post-hardcore band using elements of screamo, progressive rock, and math rock in its music.[16]
I'm a little underwhelmed by this, maybe because I was so blown away by the new Stolas single, but still a great song. Hanging Revelation is still my favorite so far haha
I meant favorite in terms of their new material. I love all of their old stuff too. I really love their first album. Railmaster is my favorite song out of all of their material. Dead Messages is a good one though!
Cameron Brazil IDK... Stolas for me is just too much. I can't get over their style/sound, it just doesn't feel right to me for some reason. HTS sounds more organic and natural to me than Stolas, but that's just my opinion.
Not really, I feel like lyrically dgd, especially Jon Mess, for the most part in that album is just random. Instrumentally I feel like DGD is tighter but this is more complex. Just imo
I just keep hearing the (in no way a bad way) angstyness of Zoloft and Robot W/Human Hair Pt. 3 whenever I listen to it, especially the way the guitars are structured and the way the lyrics are focused on drugs and dealing with emotions. Maybe it's just me. Either way, I still fucking love it.
Never bored with this band, Missed the Anaheim show which was the ultimate face palm of this year, but happy to hear their new material even if it's though my crappy speaker. .
I suppose you don't know what a wake is? Granted I have no idea why they drew a frog instead of a normal body but I think it's hilarious so s'all good to me.
I am a huge Hail The Sun fan and I do enjoy this song but I feel the lyrics to this song weren't as meaningful or as strong as their other songs. Still a good song
Their drummer and singer mesh really well together.
same dude
Their drummer is their singer haha
Ian Aberbach Haha, I know man
So do they just get another drummer for live shows?
Saw them w/ DGD in October, they have a guy fill in on some songs. I'd prefer a different drummer live. His stage presence is unrivaled. Should be the frontman.

Not just with drugs tho. That can be true with anything that we are addicted too
yea ok
Donovan nails it all the time. It's actually scary how similar this guy's experiences to mine is.
Every single song is a treat to discover and listen to.
as a recovering heroin addict, this song means so much to me. Right there with you

This is a masterpiece
I usually don't like these kind of vocals, but this band is one absolute exception. Great song.
This song is so fantastic, easily a top 3 song on the album for me and a top 10 HTS song everything about it is perfect for my tastes

Definitely my favorite of the songs released so far. Very excited for this and other Blue Swan releases this year.
Three more weeks 'til the album... I cant handle it.
I will never get tired of that outtro: IT'S A LIE WE ACTUALLY BELIEVEEE
On the off-chance Blue Swan Records reads this, I'd ABSOLUTELY pay for an instrumental version of the entire Wake album. Not that I don't like Don's singing, I just would like to take in that music for its fullest.
how would the music be at its fullest with 1/4th of it missing?
I would buy forsure. Plenty of parts within the album where I would prefer no singing because the instruments are so good
Wow this band is beautiful!
damn wasn't expected 1:40 to come, love HTS!
This reminds me of POW! Right In The Kisser! and I love it so much! I can't wait to buy this album.
this is so good omfg
I really wanna see these guys live so badly!
I like Human Target Practice a lot, but this is magnificent, I loved this immediately. Can't wait for the album.
THIS IS SO BEAUTIFUL♥
I already loved these guys but I found this song from downloading a clone hero song pack of user picked songs and this was surprisingly on there now I jam this everyday!
Best of the three new ones they have released.

@@saxon8981this is an 8 year old comment lol
This reminds me soo much of Saosin!
***** you don't have to be rude about it, Saosin was a pretty great band in their time. I don't see how hail the sun is similar but at least he's comparing them to something great and not the murder of babies right?

@joe fef Sorry to take three years to respond to you, my time is pretty limited.
I'm a little underwhelmed by this, maybe because I was so blown away by the new Stolas single, but still a great song. Hanging Revelation is still my favorite so far haha
i think this is the best one so far haha
What about Dead Messages?
I meant favorite in terms of their new material. I love all of their old stuff too. I really love their first album. Railmaster is my favorite song out of all of their material. Dead Messages is a good one though!
:)

Tie us off and take us both to heaven
Am I the only one getting a really familiar DGD Death Star vibe from this track? Not just the instrumentality, but the lyrics as well?
Not really, I feel like lyrically dgd, especially Jon Mess, for the most part in that album is just random. Instrumentally I feel like DGD is tighter but this is more complex. Just imo

REALLY similar. In a good way.
I've heard of Fightstar but deathstar is a band too?
Going through heroin addiction this hits me right in the feels.
Wow.
Muito bom!
Never bored with this band, Missed the Anaheim show which was the ultimate face palm of this year, but happy to hear their new material even if it's though my crappy speaker. .
please upload the rest of their songs :,^{
This song should have been the first release before any of them.
Why did they choose that cover art for the album?
I suppose you don't know what a wake is?
Granted I have no idea why they drew a frog instead of a normal body but I think it's hilarious so s'all good to me.
Rufin Fury I think it's an alien, hahah.
Lol I was thinking that or a really sick dude but all I can see is Kermit the Frog haha.
Anybody know what this song is talking about??
josh scott drug addiction
god tier
A lie we actually believe, fucking brilliant
Oh shit.
eargasm
0:26
When you miss your injection it may abscess, hurts like a bitch
Is there morse code at the end of this song?
"everything we say is a lie" - the industry. take yer pick on which 1, i bet yer right.
This song/band is too awesome... I recently covered this on drums! Some feedback would be gnarly!
I'm sorry guys, i'm a late comer here. This is an awesome baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand my gosh

Sauceheadz
For real, is this Fall of Troy?
Can someone please give me some guitar tabs? This is my favorite song on the album and I can't find tabs anywhere....

Thank you heroin for good music !!!
And meth!!!
I am a huge Hail The Sun fan and I do enjoy this song but I feel the lyrics to this song weren't as meaningful or as strong as their other songs. Still a good song
this song is great, but i cant help but to imagine spongebob singing whenever he screams
Meh
it's evident that they've got good ideas here, but they're not executed very well
Also cliche lyrics
Read between the lines buddy
wack
There is fortunately only 1 FOT but this is really really good........
