@@TheDiaryOfACEO I wont pretend I watch/listen to every pod. But of the dozen or so I've seen, every single one has really touched me. Keep up the incredible work.
You're not a fraud Kammy .. you have made an entire nation laugh through your natural charisma, you're an inspiration to many and everybody in Middlesbrough are so proud of the man you became and that you represent us. I hope you get well soon, you can do it! One of our own .. UTB!
The banner at the Boro ground in the south stand last Saturday read your not a fraud you are unbelievable Kammy. The whole stadium erupted with applause.Well done the supporters.
Yes! THIS! I mean eff the black nonsense off because there were plenty of blacks in all media at the time but as a MAN who has given his enitre working life to football and providing a very high quality experience, it made me love football more as a fan. He's been in video games, a player, manager he's done it all and he stands out so much and as I said made the experience all the better.
Kammy is so hard on himself, if only he could see through our eyes for one day. He seems to think his value as a presenter has some how been diminished, he would see that we if anything, think it has only given him even more value. Love ya Kammy and the smile when your mum and wife were brought up is still as contagious as ever.
James you are absolutely right! This is so true and I couldn’t have put it any better. He’s a presenting legend and he’s as Stephen said he’s earned it and people know that.
Spot on. Hopefully the absolute class of the Boro fans at the weekend gave Kammy a lift. They had a huge banner in the crowd which said "You're not a fraud. You're unbelievable Kammy".
You have to give Steven credit for this podcast, you really get to see a different side to some of the most influential people in modern society. Brilliant work!
Such a devastating illness. My old boss when I was teenager was diagnosed recently. A genuinely good man who loved a laugh, now it’s like the soul has been sucked right out of him. Godspeed Chris, you’ve been more inspirational than you may ever know
Chris Kamara is a national treasure. I hope he finds his confidence and we see more of him on the telly. Disability should not be a barrier. I should know as I'm physically disabled and I'm out there working full time.
I’ve listened to almost every episode but I have never been so moved by any other nor have I ever left a comment. But I feel the need to here. What an iconic man. It honestly broke my heart to hear he feels like a fraud. It would be easier to give up and hide in the shadows, and not face life head on. What Kammy has chosen to do is the opposite, it’s the harder choice that requires courage and nerves of steel. Him and his family should feel proud of who he is and what he stands for, not in spite of his illnesses but by virtue of them and his ability to persevere in the face of adversity. What a man.
As a 70 year old Birmingham City fan with Parkinsons, can I thank you Kammy for being Mr Informed Entertainer throughout my lifetime of Saturdays! Thank you also for sharing your thoughts in this video. Congratulations on achieving your dream. Hold your family close and, as you said yourself, "Do it. Do it . Do it. And see where it takes you!"
Glad to see a fellow Brummie in the comments. I hope that you have found peace with your Parkinson's. Sending love from one Brummie to another! As we sing, there'll be his and sorrows too, but we'll be there, at the end of the road. KRO ❤️
Totally inspirational. I have been so moved by this podcast. I’m not in the least bit surprised he has double the amount of work now - he is so loved. Bless you Kammy.
One of the most positive comment sections I’ve ever seen, this is the best side of RUclips 👏🏻 loved this podcast, well done Steve and Kammy for being so authentic
Absolutely devastated to hear Chris has Apraxia, always made me smile, with his constant laughing , such a great guy ! Life can be so cruel at times. God bless you mate!
YOU ARE NO FRAUD!! Why is this only online 🤔 So informative and Helpful. People need to hear and understand this. This man is a Legend. Much Love to Chris ❤️
I remember as a 12 year old (1978) walking home from school passed Chris Kamara's house when he lived in Swindon. (Malvern Road in Gorse Hill). It was in my neighbourhood and I remember feeling proud he lived so near by. I remember looking down and seeing a pen on the pavement outside his house with the name Chris Kamara embossed on it. I knocked his door. He answered and was very friendly and was pleased I had returned his pen to him. A very fond memory. All the very best to you Chris 👍

"I'm tolerating Cammy," said nobody ever. One of the old personalities of the game, a fantastically genuine bloke and a hoot to boot. Someone should show this comment section to Chris, he is his own greatest critic (typical for a footballer).

WOW… what an interview. Insightful, Joyful and hypnotic. Chris Kamara may not talk as fast as he used to do, but by god he talks so well and is one of those few people that you can’t hep but listen to every single word. What a great watch that was…. Thanks
For me over the years of his commentary on sky he was the reason I tuned in to the sat soccer show, his banter and honest delivery put him head and shoulders above those around him. His laughter and ability to loose control in funny situations were legendary, Kammy is sorely missed. I can't imagine how frustrating this illness must be for someone like Chris who was so quick and full of banter. Legend Kammy, legend. Cheers Bro XXX
Kammy will always be a legend!! I’ve had the great pleasure of seeing this man’s career from player to broadcast and always with a smile on his face, an infectious smile that can light up any Saturday. Real Charisma from a true Gent which is certainly not fraud. Keep smiling Kammy! From a Burnley Fan ❤
Kammy is an absolute gent. After watching him on the pitch and then as a staple on the Soccer Saturday team, to meeting him in person a couple of times at Doncaster races. What you see is what you get. Full of life and a laugh a minute with a true love for the sport. Keep smiling Kammy lad!!!!
Chris Kamara and Steven, I am writing to express my heartfelt gratitude to both of you for sharing Chris Kamara's story. As someone who has been diagnosed with MS, I often find myself being incredibly hard on myself, constantly comparing my present abilities to how I was before. However, hearing about Chris's journey has been a source of inspiration and comfort for me. Chris, your resilience and determination in the face of adversity are truly remarkable. You have touched the hearts of many, including mine. Your willingness to share your experiences and challenges is a beacon of hope for individuals like myself who sometimes struggle to see beyond our circumstances. Steven, thank you for providing a platform for Chris to share his story.
Love this Podcast in general but this episode is soo powerful! The fact his condition makes him struggle with speech but he never gave up. The man himself such an amazing character that has blessed our screens for years with happiness and passion! IT'S UNBELIEVABLE JEFF! We love you KAMMY!!!
I related wholeheartedly to this. I experienced racism as a child. Had chewing gum thrown in my hair and was kicked a lot. In 2020 I became very unwell with anaemia but it was left undiagnosed. It affected everything, my emotional wellbeing, my energy and my work. I was a confident artist before in the performance industry. In the public eye. When I was finally diagnosed in the summer of 2021, I couldn't walk for long, couldn't stay awake, burning on the back of my head, loss of speech. I completely relate to this man. I'm still recovering and getting back into the arts, more so online now. Going to hospital to have a full ENT check soon. I hope I can fully recover. Thanks for doing this episode. I don't normally comment but felt compelled to.
Chris is such a humble person. He is so genuine. That's why he is loved by the nation. May he be blessed with success and good health. Great interview.
We love you Chris! actually cried watching this video, must have been hard for you growing up and I want to thank you for sharing. This video has been nothing but an inspiration for any one suffering out there, know you can do it once you put your mind to it!
We absolutely love Chris here in Ireland. When Chris came on we would all have to be quiet to listen to his excellent insights and take in his amazing sense of excitement and fun. I hope he finds peace and confidence in himself. He has bought the world so much happiness. Thank you.
Chris, met you a few times round alverthorpe years ago. Your a absolute true gentleman, a gifted footballer in your time& brilliant on television. Your NOT a Fraud, your absolutely brilliant. I wish you all the very best in anything you do in the future like so many many other people do, your a true Gem.
What an utter legend ❤️ and what's clear to see and hear is that his condition can very much be controlled by his psychology, which he's obviously struggling with as this is such an impactful cruel condition for someone like Kammy. Very inspiring.
Out of all the interviews I’ve watched in your series Steven, I think this has got to be the most interesting, emotional and positive. I’ve shed a tear and I’ve laughed. I remember Kammies first appearance on Sky, his enthusiasm for his sport is like that of an exuberant puppy. Thank you so much Steven for such a great interview. 😊
Kammy has brought so many fantastic moments to us over the years. That he is not delivering to his own standards is only in his eyes. Which sometimes is something we are all guilty of...but what a guy! He is genuinely a national sporting treasure
I have never seen this man or heard of him before but tears are running down my cheeks as I watch & listen to his story. I wish he could see how valuable and worthy he is❤❤❤
This was heartbreaking to watch, I’m not a football fan but always liked c Kamara , my dad lost his speech due to a stroke a few years ago, and this breaks my heart to see hope he’s ok he’s a great character and a great guy.
Chris Kamara is one of the funniest, most genuine and humble men on TV. He always comes across as a really funny, gentle and kind man.A very moving episode. More importantly Chris you will do more for others with your recent speech challenges than anyone. Please don't give up, as we all need people like you on TV to shine a light on your condition and be an inspiration for others.
incredibly personal interview. huge credit to Chris for being so open. my respect for him has skyrocketed because it takes so much courage to be as open and honest as that.
I’m not a football fan, I know barely anything about the game, but Kammy is just such a lovely and iconic guy, I knew I had to watch. This was such a poignantly episode and it was so insightful, I hope kammy can one day see himself through the eyes of the world, because he really deserves some strong validation 💪 ✨
I remember your footballing career Chris. You were one of my favourite footballers. You're a hero, not a fraud. Even more so now than ever before. Love You Sir. Much love.
My son was born with apraxia of speech and unlike Chris never acquired speech - it’s lifelong and neurological - it’s a lonely isolating journey that many do not speak about. This podcast in particular was extremely poignant - communication is a privilege not afforded to all - it has a power and purpose - well done.
@No Pill 4 me nope that's not true. Remember human beings are the only ones currently with a spoken language. Yet all animals communicate effectively. Someone can tell me something with their posture, with their face, with their hands, all sorts. It's still communication. Speech is also only useful if you speak the same language. Then yes a barrier goes up, but it's actually still very possible to communicate with being able to understand a word. It's taken for granted more often than not and diminished.
You'll never walk alone Kammy. An absolute legend inside and outside of football. YOU ARE NOT A FRAUD! Football punditry is not the same without you. You are loved by everyone. God bless you Chris.
What a wonderful episode. Chris is a TOTAL legend. Thank goodness for people like him on this planet. I'm so glad he has his mindset otherwise we'd never have experienced the laughs with Kammy! 😃
I remember Kammy coming to my primary school back in the early 90’s - his energy is well remembered and really happy that he is continuing his success, he’s a true inspiration!
Not a fraud Kammy, you are real human and genuine gentleman and this has only proved to endear you to us more. I found this interview very interesting and honest. Don’t be hard on yourself, you have exceeded in your life and deserve everything you have worked hard for. You did that! Be proud! You are one in a million. No regrets, you have nothing to regret.
This was genuinely an incredibly touching interview with Kammy. The way you gave him a comfortable platform to speak about not just his Illness but also his life. From a first time viewer this was seeing a young professional give an interview that had a maturity 15years beyond there age. Outstanding job
Compelling. Deep and revealing. Emotional. Sad. Courageous. Debilitating. Empathetic. Sorrow. Corrosive. Hopefully. Life. I'm of a "Caribbean" background. Listening to this interview really makes me appreciate the sacrifice my parents made for me and my siblings. By the grace of God, they gave me the foundation of my being.
Thank you to Kammy for opening up and thank you Steven for hosting so well. Stay strong Kammy and we all still want to see you on our screens. You're still the same person inside, so 1% of you is better than 99% of other people.
We love you Kammy! Don't ever give up! I have dyspraxia which isn't as debilitating as your apraxia but it's the messages from my brain not quite getting to my body properly. It's hard to deal with and I've had it all my life. Feel gutted for you in having to deal with it so suddenly and late in life.
Chris has such a powerful story, often when we see people in the public eye we may think their journey has been an easy one to where they are. Each time this podcast shows us it’s usually the opposite. Although his adversity has been so difficult it has made him the great man he is today. Thank you for this!
Thank you for sharing this video! Chris you are amazing and I’m so thankful to be able to see you sharing your life and been able to see your journey. I have everything crossed for the specialist in America. I shed a lot of tears watching this, happy tears, proud tears and sad tears. The sad was because I saw my dad in you and your life. He was just as passionate about life and level headed when it came to racism. He was the best dad and I wish he was still here. I wish I could have a conversation like this with him. For the last two years of his life he really struggled with his speech both for himself and knowing others were struggling to understand/hear as he could hear and feel the changes but also he lost his confidence as he used to talk to everybody and make them laugh too. He thought not having this loud personality made him less of a person. It absolutely did not. We all loved him more than life. He was and is still so precious to me. Please feel the love from your fans and your family. And may your career continue to excel! You are a legend and we love you.
Loved this episode! I’m someone who was healthy and doing well in my career that I loved then became unwell with chronic illness and had to leave and the grieving process of your former self and life isn’t spoken about enough and it’s a massive thing and I relate to Chris so much!
Incredible interview, I’ve always had massive admiration for Chris and admire him even more now after listening to his story. You are a national treasure Kammi, good on you. 👍👕
Kammy talking about not wanting to ruin the image of his dad to his own children, stuck with me. It's so difficult to balance that. Every parent want their kids to love their grandparents, but it's equally difficult to shed all that trauma they've caused you.
Thank you for some of the best football moments in history Kammy, you’re a legend and I’m so sorry to hear of your illness and the impact it’s having on you!
His story has so much depth. He is an amazingly humble man. His pain about his father really resonated with me. My mom, as a child, watched my grandfather abuse my grandmother. My mom never told me about it until I was well into adulthood. I’m just really realizing how that impacted her and how witnessing such abuse shaped her into who she is today. His interview helped me see things through my mother’s eyes.
Great interview, made me so sad at the same time 😢, I wish with all my heart you make a full recovery, I honestly love you Kammy you are a stand up human being . I salute you sir 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Chris, you are a living legend. Not one person would say otherwise. It broke my heart when your voice that made you, diminished. I read today that you've overcome this now Im sure its a long journey but youre loved by so many people, far and wide. Honestly, you have a beautiful heart and soul and it shows.
An truly wonderful podcast. I live in Asia and knew nothing about Chris' illness. This was so moving. What a great bloke he is. Always used to love him on Sky. I hope the future goes well for him.
This was a beautiful interview, equally beautiful and tragically sad, It's clearly obvious the Kammy really has no idea on what impact he's had on millions of Football fans lives, on the pitch and especially off it, and even more so now. Thousands of people suffer with thousands of different conditions that are pretty unknown and until someone of importance starts to suffer then that's when we get to hear about it. Although it saddens me that Kammy is suffering with this condition it's heartwarming to know just his personality will ensure that this condition starts to be a bit more understood and hopefully ensure others start to recognise it and treat others with it accordingly instead of hurtful comments. Love you big man, good luck with this fight and your next chapter, millions of people wish you nothing but love and luck Kammy. Subscribed on the strength of this interview, really was an insightful and beautiful interview handled extremely respectfully.
Put aside the legendary broadcaster, the legendary funny man, the legendary football man, Kammy is simply just a fantastic legendary man, a person who has brought joy to generations, who has entertained and taught us over the years, we all laugh at the banter, but we all respect the man, Kammy, never think you're time is up, you could be totally mute and we'd still scream your name, you've touched us in a way that so few people do, we'll never be able to thank you for your service to us and our beautiful game, nothing but love for you Chris, never become a stranger, we won't allow you too, you're to important to us ❤️
Kammy one of the most loved pundits of the game always made us smile every time it cut to the games for an update a diamond of a Guy and amazingly popular and will remain so for many years to come stay strong mate and remember you have achieved so much to be proud of focus on the future and know you have given millions joy and I mean millions over the years God bless you ❤️🙏

Thank you.
This was a difficult but important listen. Much love for Kamara, nothing less than an icon.
From Ireland with Love Kammy. Your Charisma made us smile when we were feeling down / depressed.
Love the smile when he thought of his mum, the humility.
And he beamed when he spoke of his wife. Such a lovely man.
Brought tears to my eyes when his face lit up. Always a little boy to mummy. X
Always great to see these people rise from adverse conditions to super star status. Well done.
I have never seen this man or heard of him before but tears are running down my cheeks as I watch & listen to his story. I wish he could see how valuable and worthy he is❤❤❤
What an legend, I'm only 20 and it feels like I've known him my whole life.
Much love.
Thank you Kammy and well done Steven for highlighting his greatness.
My son was born with apraxia of speech and unlike Chris never acquired speech - it’s lifelong and neurological - it’s a lonely isolating journey that many do not speak about. This podcast in particular was extremely poignant - communication is a privilege not afforded to all - it has a power and purpose - well done.
@No Pill 4 me majority of communication is through body language btw.
That's across the animal kingdom but also just humans alone
The noticeable difference in kammys voice when he talks about football, the passion supersedes the disease, you can hear the strength in his voice.
Well put 👍👍
Screw the current ailment. What an amazing inspirational interview with a strong, resilient man.
#getkammyback
I met Chris in Tenerife. He is the most genuine guy you could ever meet. Never stopped smiling. Sorry I missed him this time. True legend and Gent!
No way, I met him at an airport when I was going to Cyprus, and he told me he was off to Tenerife! Was it around September 2019 by any chance?
@@madzangels he had a bar in Tenerife mate. He frequented there quite a lot. Possibly was 2019 but May I think I went. 👍🏻
By far my favourite so far. Everyone loves Kammy and his story is so inspirational and his thesis so simple. Work hard and do your best 🙏
Kammy is just one of the good guys. a great positive man, and a bright light in the football media arena. A true legend.
What a brave man for being so open and raising awareness! Truly respectful ❤
Kammy you are a national treasure and incredibly courageous in sharing your story. Thank you
Chris has such a powerful story, often when we see people in the public eye we may think their journey has been an easy one to where they are.
BEAUTIFULLY WRITTEN!!!
All the best to you Kammy you're a living legend and a national treasure.
Genuinely one of the nicest blokes in football. Nothing but love for you Kammy ❤️
A bunch of us going on holiday, met Chris in Glasgow Airport. He was a very friendly, and spoke to us all. This is heartbreaking to see.
Ahhh man the smile on his face at 12:42 when Steven asks about his mother, that's so heartwarming. Really welled up there.
Such a genuine reaction, loved it :)
Kammy talking about not wanting to ruin the image of his dad to his own children, stuck with me. It's so difficult to balance that. Every parent want their kids to love their grandparents, but it's equally difficult to shed all that trauma they've caused you.
Oh this hit deep. Great words!
Agree
Takes a strong person to hold back there feelings as to not ruin the image of a person for the sake of there kids. Great man.
Thank you for some of the best football moments in history Kammy, you’re a legend and I’m so sorry to hear of your illness and the impact it’s having on you!
Seen him play a number of times. Guy played with real passion..a joy to watch. What a pundit too...most are quite dull but CK was always entertaining.
I read today that you've overcome this now
Im sure its a long journey but youre loved by so many people, far and wide.
Wish he could realise how much the nation loves him. Top bloke.
Put aside the legendary broadcaster, the legendary funny man, the legendary football man, Kammy is simply just a fantastic legendary man, a person who has brought joy to generations, who has entertained and taught us over the years, we all laugh at the banter, but we all respect the man, Kammy, never think you're time is up, you could be totally mute and we'd still scream your name, you've touched us in a way that so few people do, we'll never be able to thank you for your service to us and our beautiful game, nothing but love for you Chris, never become a stranger, we won't allow you too, you're to important to us ❤️
This was such a brilliant episode. Chris seems like the most humble person and he's so inspiring! Wish him all the best
Kammy one of the most loved pundits of the game always made us smile every time it cut to the games for an update a diamond of a Guy and amazingly popular and will remain so for many years to come stay strong mate and remember you have achieved so much to be proud of focus on the future and know you have given millions joy and I mean millions over the years God bless you ❤️🙏
Wow, what an emotional episode. I met Chris probably 5 years ago at a guest speaking doo he was doing in Sheffield. He was absolute class. He has been through the mill with this especially in his profession its a true testament to.him that he is so loved whether it be 20, 30, 40 or 100% Kammy.
Mr Kamara you are a legend and a gent. The love is real, don’t eat yourself up. Anyone that can bring a smile is a powerful being. God bless you my man
Chris Kamara you are a bloody legend! As soon I see you on here and on TV, I always remember the funny times you've had on Sky Sports. Must have taken a lot to come onto this podcast, fairplay to you. Wish you nothing but the best
