I wonder which guest characters will be added to Tekken 8 via DLC. Part of me would love to see the return of Akuma as he did play a big role in the Tekken 7 Story Mode, and he technically didn't complete his goal of killing both Heihachi and Kazuya.
I guarantee you right now, the way they've set the DLC up by giving us 4 additional characters every YEAR, Akuma, Geese, Noctis, AND Negan, are highly likely gonna return back. And we'll still get new Guests entered in the game as well.

The game's $60, and spending $5.99 with a total of 15 characters... that's almost $90 total just by the characters alone!! That cost more than the game itself.
I feel like the reason for "unlocking characters" was tedious for people so it being gone from T6 onwards shows how it likely wasn't favored. Also you definitely don't need to buy all the characters, just buy the ones that seem to peak your interests
This is content that was developed after the game released. You don't even unlock the characters in the base game anymore and DLC is content that just wouldn't have been in the game from the start because the roster was already ridiculously big.

Lidia is irrelevant. There too many karate style character already. We need new moves, like Leroy Wing Chun. There are plenty martial arts to be discovered and they still put another karate user.

As a 2nd dan Shotokan Karateka myself Lidia is simply the best represent of actual Shotokan Karate that really exist and that is practiced by thousand of people in the world. The difference may not be that simple to see for non karateka but Mishima Karate does not exist, it's nice but far to be as accurate as what they did with Lidia. Her mocap have been made with the help of Tastuya Naka, a JKA Shotokan Karate sensei. It's totally incomprehensible that they made that much work on this character (design and moveset) to drop her that fast and not make her in the T8 base roster. I hope she will come back as DLC because she have all place in the Tekken games.
