Oh damn, I hope you love it lol. You don't need to leave pancake games behind entirely though. No more so than someone that likes games needs to stop watching movies. There's a time and a mood to enjoy all sorts of entertainment mediums, even if we have our favourites :)
The combat arenas are limited to a ringed path even on the Veteran analog stick movement option. You just don’t need to do the “mime pulling on a rope” gesture to side step.
@@EeekiE thats really frustrating specially since free roam combat IS available during stealth sections. Really hoping theyll patch it so you an choose either
I enjoyed this video. Very solid list. One thing I'd recommend for people who are getting PSVR 2 as their first VR headset is to shy away from games that use analog stick movement at first. Games where you're relatively stationary like Demeo and Moss will be a more comfortable place to start, and then you could move up to gesture based movement like Horizon and Kayak VR or maybe games where you're stationary but the world is moving like Switchback or GT7. If people have never played VR before and they try jumping right into Resident Evil Village (or similar games), a lot of them will probably have a queasy time. Gotta build up those VR legs!
@@gaming-arcadia That's interesting. I think it could be really great if you did a video about avoiding/dealing with motion sickness for people who are just starting in VR with PSVR 2, especially since you're sensitive to it yourself. Do you still play with comfort options or did you eventually get past needing them?
You either have the legs or don't. It's a myth about building up those legs. And most titles have locomotion options anyway. Been in VR since the late 80's, Trocadero London.
@@rad6666 That's just not true. Wes from Virtual Strangers is married to a woman who literally threw up the first time she tried VR, but she saw how awesome it could be, so she gradually acclimatized herself to it. It took a long time, but now she plays daily for hours without any discomfort. She can play anything she wants with all the comfort settings off. Some people try to push through the sickness, and they will never get past it, because that's the wrong approach. If you start with comfortable options, gradually push outside your comfort zone, and stop when you start feeling symptoms, you can dramatically reduce or eliminate any sort of motion sickness from VR after a while. I used to feel somewhat sick using analog stick movement and smooth turning, but I took it easy for a while and since then have been able to play Skyrim VR almost 400 hours with almost no discomfort (at full walking/running speed with smooth turning).

I also prefer having arms (and a whole body ideally), but using inverse kinematics to determine the position of the arms and shoulders isn't perfect, and some people get quite put off when their in-game posture doesn't match what they're actually doing. And things start to look pretty whack if you put a controller down. Horizon is playing it safe, as a jarring first experience can turn people off VR entirely.
That's cool. Have you played Tetris Effect on a flatscreen? In VR it is of course the same game, but the lightshow is way more impressive. I don't really like Tetris much so it's not making my list, but I hope you love it!
@@gaming-arcadia yeah I have it on switch and on my ps4. I think it’s a £10 upgrade. I’ve put a lot of hours into it especially on switch and honestly cannot wait to try it in vr!
Excellent list! I also pre-ordered Switchback VR and Kayak VR. These should keep me busy (and happy) for a while before moving on to No Man's Sky.

9:00 "Except For Split-Screen" It would be neat if you PS5 could output to the headset and the TV simultaneously, I don't see anything preventing the game from running in a two player mode with one person on VR and the other on TV, especially when the game only runs at 60fps in VR.
Didn’t they say it was 120fps. Also it would probably be impossible to do that on a PS5 without significantly decreasing the graphics, frame rate and gameplay
PSVR 1 had some of those asymmetrical local multiplayer games, where one player was in VR and the other(s) were using the TV. I think there's a ton of cool things developers could do with such a mode. However I don't think GT7 could handle it. It runs at 60fps but is reprojected to 120fps in VR, and I'm betting they already needed to make a few compromises to get that working. Honestly I think the only reason why it had a local split screen mode is so the developers could ensure they could make the game run in VR.
VR is very demanding as it is effectively rendering twice (stereoscopic left eye/right eye) AND at high frame rate. Rendering yet another camera/version for the screen would be a big ask. The 'spectator' screen that lets you watch what the VR player sees isn't a separate render, it's a 'simple' mirror of what is being sent to the headset with different post processing to fit a TV instead of a VR headset).
Honestly a really impressive line-up for a new platform. I want to play Song in the Smoke, Before Your Eyes, Star Wars Tales from the Galaxy's Edge, Moss Book II and probably a few others as well. If I didn't already have PCVR there would be even more for me.
PSVR 2 = the revival of AAA VR Gaming
