Sword is almost entirely skill based whereas crystal requires skill but has an element of luck because of how random explosions can be. Sharpness didn't cheat with health indicators, but he does have a very controversial mod that increases your crystal speed which is why you see him crystal so fast in his videos and get quick 2 taps. This isn't considered a "hack" on all servers but it's a similar equivalent to if Dr Donut had used a ping spoofer to decrease his kb in sword.

I think sharpness had the advantage here. For op duels, you have so much healing that if you want to win you basically have to win like 10 interactions a round, which means even if the better player made a large mistake, they can make up for it right away with the healing, while for crystal there’s unexpected pops and quick drops, especially with sharpness’s crystal speed, and the skill gap between sharpness and donut in sword is way larger then crystal
