Thanks so much for the kind feedback it means a lot hearing my videos are helping get games to the table and people the confidence to play them. Also thanks for watching and let me know how your game goes and what you think of it;)
I have not played this yet. I backed because it was a lot of miniatures for $100, I expected the game would probably be cheesy and crap, especially from looking at the character names. But or $100 you cant go wring with the volume of miniatures for SF and Cthulhu games. When it arrived I was taken aback by the production quality, very solid miniatures and also a solid overall production, to top it off I heard that the game was awesome too. The good news is that I back the right horse. The 'bad news' is that those awesome miniatures I wanted to cannibalise for my 40K chaos spawn, and my Elder Things are staying where they are. I might try and reback for a second copy of the uncounted Horrors boxset to salvage for bits. Thanks for explaining the game.
I found a copy of the core and two expansions on eBay. Yet to get it to the table…but am I right in seeing that the expansions-Endless Nightmares and Uncounted Horrors-are really just one scenario each? Are the “epic monster” expansions worthwhile? The prices for them are just a little too high for me to justify.
I backed the first Kickstarter version through Ebay ;p It only cost me 170 euros lol, which is not bad considering how jacked up prices of expired Kickstarter projects can be. Backed the 2nd printing but only for the new expansion, the novel and the art book. I still haven't played the game (that's why I'm here), but considering I absolutely LOVE sci-fi horror and I really enjoy Mansions of Madness and Eldritch Horror, this was kind of a no-brainer for me.
I own this game and in my opinion (and my play group) the first mission being so hard is a massive negative. The repeated plays wear on you. Even the Facebook group that we backers are in have suggestions to make it more palatable. It is gorgeous. It is thorough. It is vicious. It should just not start off with the harder mission first.
Thanks for watching and sharing. When I talked to them way back just after the Kickstarter I suggested they provide an easier mission to get players involved but they wanted it to be hard and it even took me a few games to win the mission. I think the one difference in my opinion is that you can see where you could have done better after the mission and it really comes down to the last second when making it through it. I have played other games that are very difficult and some of them do it in a way the just sucks the hope out of it and after the game you can't really see where you went wrong I never felt that with Deep Madness. Please let me know what your group changed to make the game easier and if you have run into problems after the first mission.
@@LearntoPlayGames In truth this game is a hard sell. They don't like investing so much time in our limited schedule to try to figure out what to do just right to win. It is only the fact that I spent so much on it, and everything in the game is gorgeous, that they play it at all now. When we have so many other tabletop games to play I am finding it hard to get this one any love. The groans at the table are almost palpable when it is brought up. We like hard games, but some are just a bit much. For example: Firefly became enjoyable once we changed the fuel rules, Monopoly is just banned outright (even my Powerpuff Girls and Cthulhu versions), and we also have "house rules" for Magic the Gathering to keep it from being stale. I think if I cut the spawn rates in the track, so as not to overwhelm them so much, I can get them hooked. It is kind of a last ditch effort. Especially since I have all the expansions so far and the new ones coming from the second print. I am hoping for the best
I can understand and appreciate that. I run into that a lot with some of my groups I like heavier games and most of my group like the easier games. Please let me know how the house rules go and if they help with the group getting more into the game. you could also try adding the extra action tokens in to give the player more actions per turn as well. Thanks again for sharing.
Thanks so much, and yes to at least one I am working on Village Attacks now and hopefully will have it done in the next couple of weeks. As for Hellboy I would love to cover it and have covered some of Mantics other games but I have not locked this one down yet. If this is one you would like me to cover please drop a message to Mantic and let them know you want me to cover it. Thanks as always for watching and commenting.
Thanks for the feedback and for the question. I do have a link in the description and I also just posted another video reviewing the product so you can get all the information there as well. here is a link to that ruclips.net/video/JE1tbAw9ET8/видео.html
15:10 game over- we don't have such a humongous table space. skip to 3:48 note to uploader - move preamble to the end of the video. We want to dive right in.
Too many spawns in this game, I’m spawning around 7 monsters each turn. Didn’t know the rule we could substitute if no more available, already lost multiple times due to that
Thanks for watching and for the question. If you get to a monster card and there are no monsters of the type on the board you will move onto the next character to activate. You got a lucky break;)
Thanks for your comment I am still learning my new software and I was fighting a bad sinus infection at the time but I will try to make sure that I edit out any of these in future videos.
The first scenario is tough of nails. Great explination of the game.
Thanks and I agree I have lost the first scenario quite a few times. I love this game and will be trying to do some more coverage of it soon;)
Thanks for this. Read the rulebook once, and this was a good refresher.
Thanks I am glad the video was helpful. Enjoy the game!
Thank you for another fantastic how to play video. Just set my first game up and your video made me feel very confident to get started.

Great video, really helped understand the flow of things
This vid is the best. Damn I need to purchase this game soon from ebay or somewhere!
Thanks so much, and yes if you don't have this one I would highly recommend it.
Great video mate. Very well produced and delivered. An excellent primer before learning the rules / playing for the first time, thanks!
Thanks so glad this video turned out well, love this game and I was finally able to beat the first mission;)
Thank you for a great play through and easy to follow explanation. Fair piece of work and editing!
Thanks, it is always great to hear my videos are helping ;)
Thanks man this my favorite game of all time
Thanks this is also one of my top games hoping to get it to the table more and do some more coverage of it maybe a play through video.
Just finished painting all the starter box, gonna try my first game maniana!
Wow that is so cool. I am jealous, wish I had time to paint my set, maybe one of these days;)
Thanks for the great video, Lance!
Thanks as well to you and the Diemension team for creating a wonderfully horrific world for us to play in.
Great video. Really like your presentation style 👍
Thanks so much! Also thanks for watching and posting;)
Great video, thanks for contributing.

Thanks for sharing it is always nice to hear from viewers and to see that sometimes we take a chance on a game to be surprised by a great game.
Nerdy Tom .
@@onbwze Yes?
great job as usual
Thanks!

The endless nightmares has 3 new scenarios, the uncounted horrors has only 1
Nice job, thank you!

Awesome!
Thanks.

Awesome video, really helps with getting into the game quickly. One question though: where did you get those acrylic trays? They look might helpful

This is a big game that does take a ton of room, but I love it anyway. Thanks for watching and your feedback.
Very good game!
totally agree
Nice timing! Hopefully mine will ship put this week.
You will love it such a great survival game. Best of luck on your first game;)
@@LearntoPlayGames thanks! I also sent it to my friend who convinced me to back it lol
Thanks so much

hey i got a question i can not find an answer to anywhere, what happens in monster activation phase if there is no monster of that type to activate?
Thanks for watching and for the question. If you get to a monster card and there are no monsters of the type on the board you will move onto the next character to activate. You got a lucky break;)
Nice video, except the title transitions :) Just go with something basic rather than the weird effect
Thanks, I am still working on coming up with some better transitions.
I thought that tile was one room. Tiles 5 tiles r too small n few
Not 100% sure what you are asking with this. I think with it you could say that each tile is a room broken into a number of spaces if that helps.
Please drink a glass of water before making videos...(LOUD SWALLOW), I can literally hear every dang swallow and it is soooooo freaking annoying.
Thanks for your comment I am still learning my new software and I was fighting a bad sinus infection at the time but I will try to make sure that I edit out any of these in future videos.
