Your fish are happy in their environment and rewarding you with fry. 👌🏼It’s such an exciting feeling isn’t it. 😊The more natural type tanks always do better for me and they only get better with time. I love to watch tanks develop over the years. I’m not one for clean looking tanks. I think time is our friend in the fish keeping hobby, with the type of fish you and I keep it’s easier to do. Also, I think time has made Joeys piranha tank look fantastic, it’s still my favourite of his tanks.
I love the setup on the Blue Acara tank not too many plants, so you can see all of the fish clearly and the background goes great with it, so to see the plecos and acara breeding is so so cool. My fave of the shrimp tanks is the yellow shrimp, so great to see those breeding too. Look forward to seeing all the fry grow into full sized fish, easy stocking for Joey's 16 foot tank :)
Albino ancistrus fry. If you a cave for the father to look after them in you could expect 50+/- depending on size of the female. I breed common (brown) ancistrus in South Africa and have successfully bred commons, red jewel and lemon blue eye ancistrus.
It was a Fluval light originally on the shrimp tanks, but I gave those lights back to Joey so now I’m using NICREW ClassicLED G2 Aquarium Light on the shrimp tanks
You should get a couple of proper clay ceramic pleco caves. Usually about an inch and a half diameter and. one end closed off. . The male will protect the fry. in his cave. after they lose their egg sack, then they can swim freely. You have better success. in higher yield of babies that survive.
Susswassertang. Basically "soos-WAHSS-er-tahng". Not exactly the authentic German pronunciation, but it's a reasonable English-speaker way to pronounce it. Lol
those bristlenose pleco's breed like rats. first time is nice but you can't even give those away fast enough. now when i have fry they are used for food. sad, but that's nature i guess.
They look like tadpoles wagging their tails, so cute!
