My Granny used to say if you've learned one new thing you've spent your day wisely. Thank you to the entire team that has helped put SWW together and make it available for many of us across the big pond. I think I speak for many when I say it has brought your beautiful world into ours with such a flourish and you have our gratitude. NancyKnot
Thanks to everyone for these delightful daily updates!! So wonderful to see the various activities and to hear the Shetland dialect and music!!! Thanks so very much again!!
I love Claire! What a joyful person. It's been a pleasure to watch you share Wool Week with us this year. Thank you from Wisconsin. I hope to visit Shetland in the future!
What an amazing week. I am so grateful that you allowed me to be present for the highlights of a truly wonderful Wool Week. Your coverage has been excellent, personal and educational. I hope to make the trip home to Edinburgh with a side trip to Shetland in 2023. I have shared your postings with friends. Thank you.
Thankyou for the daily updates. Really look forward to them every morning at breakfast. Beautifully filmed and I love seeing all the fair isle and lace people are wearing. Vicki from Australia.
Claire!!! The sweater you are wearing is GORGEOUS!! So very happy. I particularly enjoyed your interview with Addie. The parts I could understand that is. I enjoy him.
Thanks SO much for these lovely videos every day this week, I have looked forward to them and enjoyed each one! I hope I may be able to join you one day.
I’ve been riveted to your podcast over my breakfast everyday. What will I do tomorrow. I’m so impressed that an area with such a limited population can pull off such a professional and interesting event as this. Every knitter must have had a job and by the smiles, has worked willingly to share life in Shetland with wool. Here in New Zealand the main knitters are us older women, I’ve particularly enjoyed the way knitting is still popular with younger members of your islands. Many many congratulations, please be very proud of yourselves.
I have really enjoyed the daily updates. Love hearing the Shetland tongue. Ordered my annual and looking forward to it’s arrival-and have been chatting to pals re attending next year🤞🤞
Wow! What a fabulous week of viewing we have had, all of us that couldn't be at SWW physically but joined in virtually! Thank you so much to all who put so much time & energy into organising SWW. I think I will watch the video's all over again from number 1, they are so enjoyable! Looking forward to next year, thank you so much!
I have just found your wool week, the podcasts have been terrific. Will watch everything you produce. I have been so enjoying your accents. It reminds me of my early childhood. We had Welsh, Irish Scottish and Cornish in our family. Thanks from Australia. Will be knitting some colour-work this year.
It has been lovely to share the week with you in this way. I was sad at not being able to come but felt I was involved in a small way, and hope to be there in the flesh next year! And now have an idea of what I would want to see and learn too. Thank you x
I can’t express how much joy and pleasure that your daily updates have brought me. Thank you so much for these videos. I have three projects from this year’s Annual, sitting by my chair, one waiting on yarn coming from the UK, to knit throughout the Fall and Winter, extending my “stay” with Wool Week 2022. I hope to come there in person one day. Thank you!
Thank you so much for sharing Shetland and Wool Week. I have enjoyed each day, with so many wonderful stories and very lovely people. It has been truly magical.
Thank you for these updates. They have truly been a pleasure. Even though I am across the Atlantic Ocean I feel that I was at least a small part of SWW thanks to you all and through your kindness.
Claire, these videos have been wonderful. There is so much more to Wool Week than the "oo"! And I have sweater envy. I look forward to seeing more about your sweaters. And I hope you continue to broadcast somewhere. You have a nice way with interviewing people.
My great grandfather was from Scotland (Douglas clan) and my Grandmother born in Newfoundland. It has been absolutely wonderful viewing these videos. I love knitting and seeing the sheep and the wool and the gorgeous fair isle. The landscape touches a deep part of me. I have been to Newfoundland which has a similar landscape, and even Block Island, near me, I’ve been told is similar to Ireland landscape. There is something in my blood about islands in the North Sea and I think I might have to come to Shetland someday!
I hate to see it end. I have enjoyed listening and watching these broadcasts every morning while I have breakfast. Have loved every minute! Learned so much. Look forward to next year.
Thank you so much, I have really enjoyed the highlights, what of wealth of information you have represented there. I am a life-long knitter from Ohio, USA- hats, sweaters, dog-sweaters, afghans, and baby blankets mostly. I'm intrigued by Fair- Isle knitting but haven't been brave enough to take the plunge yet. Thanks again, can't wait until next year.
Thank you so much for these wonderful daily videos from SWW! I have treasured each and every one! So grateful to be able to be a small part of things from far away while dreaming of being there in person in the future. Just too many great moments to mention them all. And very excited to hear that we may be getting information about Claire’s beautiful knitwear that we’ve seen! Yes, please!! 😊
Thank you very much for the daily updates - really interesting to hear so many contributors speaking about wool and knitting etc. Well done Claire and everyone involved.
These dailies were fantastic to watch! Felt like I was ‘almost’ there! Very interesting and beautiful! I struggled with the accents a little 😅 being an Aussie but can watch and rewind to get the gist! Thanks and well done everyone in Shetland. Much love from Australia 🇦🇺 ❤
Thank you so much for another lovely broadcast. Claire, you - and your knitwear - have been superb all week. Now looking forward to next year - accommodation booked.
Thank you so much for taking us, who haven't been able to be there in person, along with woolweek. I have thoroughly enjoyed all of your videos this week. And thank you for telling us about your sweaters and showing us close ups - and long enough thaf we could really admire them!
Thank YOu so much for putting these videos together, especially for those of us who could not attend in person. The entire SWW team did a splendid jo(b. Now I will wait for my books and journals to arrive so I can be inspired to knit even more fair isle things. Just finished knitting Oliver's Hat for my husband and will make more for Christmas gifts. Someday I will make the trip to Shetland (maybe not for wool week, but another time during the year). Care and good health to all.
Thank you so much for sharing SWW all over the world. I came across this channel only two days ago - and I litterally sailed into this rabbit-hole! There are tons of inspirationes for the next months to work with. "May the road rise up to meet you, may the wind be always at your back" Edith from Austria
ok. I desperately want to get a hold of the Wool Week annual in which the exception sweater Linda Shearer designed and is wearing was published. Or, if this is not possible, how do I get just this pattern? That you for all these broadcasts. Everyone has been so wonderful.
Many thanks for bringing us a taste of SWW 2022. All the videos have been marvellous. I’d love to get there some day in person….. till then, bye for now 🧶👏❤️
