    It still disgusts me that as a 12yr old child sat at home I clearly saw, live on TV, fans help each other up to the balcony, carry victims to safety, tend the dying & tear down hoardings for stretchers, but newspapers & Police blamed them & edited their statements accordingly. One statement from on high was that other officers statements should be edited "as it looks like the fans were more organised than we were". Despicable.

    In 1981 after the problems at the semi final that year it was found that the capacity of the leppings lane terrace which was set at 10,100 was more than likely too high. The F.A banned hillsborough from hosting semi finals until the leppings lane terrace was made safe. The police and the club decided that the best way to do that was to break the terrace up into pens. This was done yet the capacity wasn't altered and was still kept at 10,100 even though space had been removed by the installation of the fences. The F.A decided to let semi finals be held at hillsborough after the fences had been added but didn't check on the safety of the terrace. Big mistake

      There's a number of documentaries about this and many other type incidents similar to this and the problem is people from the back keep pushing forward and don't know that people in the front are getting crushed .
      A lot of times that happens because of lack of proper security and police as well as nowhere for the people to come out to escape ... simply trapped what can they do ... the people in the front who are getting crushed and trapped can't get the people in the back to stop coming through ... it's a crowd control problem that almost always could have been avoided

    What an appalling day that was for football and sport, Liverpool supporters only went to watch a game of football and were full of excitement as the result determines who goes to Wembley for that prestigious cup.
    It was purely down to the failure of control by the police that caused that, it’s as black and white as it could be.
    Fast forward to 2022. Liverpool fans were subdued to more problems at the champions league final and was again from appalling police control or lack of it! Then they ended up being blamed again! The evidence is all on camera of being gassed by the Parisian police, unprovoked! Plus all the other stuff like mugging by locals and blamed for ticket forgery etc.
    I make this comment in October 2022, that game was back in May and the Parisian authorities are still denying any wrong doing by themselves.
    It disgusts me as a non Liverpool fan but a Hull City fan there are still problems like that fateful day in 1989. I was only 4 at the time so have no recollection, but read an awful lot into it and only to find something similar happen this very year.
    It certainly wouldn’t happen in UK, the authorities have learnt their lessons (I like to think) but was still in a modern European country that are also very big on football. But I have to point out, the Parisian police are a police force of the same country that have a military unit who recruit criminals from most other countries around the world.

      Connor Torres that's not how crowd crush occurs. People in the back have no idea that there is a problem with people in the front. They are just subtly moving forward, like you would boarding a bus, or waiting to enter a movie theater, not realizing that far ahead, people are dying. Crowds virtually liquify at a certain point and create waves like a tsunami, much more powerful in the front than in the back. If you are out at Sea, you would not even know a tsunami was passing under you whereas it devastates the shore. People in the back are like the people out at sea. It's horrifying!

      @liluuupng 3 года назад +11

      in situations like these you won’t be able to move at ALL, not even your hands. you can only really move towards wherever the crowd as a whole is moving, and if there’s nowhere to go, well, the crush just becomes more condensed. people are pressing against you so tightly even your chest won’t have enough space to expand so breathing becomes very hard and eventually completely impossible. people die in crushes like these by asphyxiation, sometimes even with broken ribs

    • @liluuupng
      @liluuupng 3 года назад +7

      also a big issue is that people at the back of a crowd have no idea just how tightly packed the center or front of the crush is. so people at the back might tend to push forward, which in these cases sends a type of shockwave through the crowd, forcing the people in the worst spots even closer together

      Abby human crush A human disaster which occurs during religious pilgrimages or professional sporting and music events, when crowds fall prey to mass panic due to an explosion, fire or other trigger event which causes a stampede. Death is caused by compressive asphyxiaton (crowd crush) rather than trampling, resulting from the combination of horizontal pushing and vertical stacking often against a closed exit or route of egress.

    At what point will people take responsibility for their own actions? The absence of crowd control and the drunken football yobs forcing their way into the crowd? It’s their fault. The Sun newspaper said it, and I agree.

      You’ve fallen for the blatant lie put out by the one truly responsible and fully to blame. The police. They put that out to try and cover their asses. They failed. Investigators did the frame by frame counting. All accounted for had a ticket. Nor where the spectators drunk or disorderly, well under 10% of the dead were intoxicated.
      Poor grounds architectural planning and an ill-equipped negligent police force caused those deaths.

    • @nickreeves4814
      @nickreeves4814 4 года назад +5

      No, it’s clear to see that there are far too many Liverpool fans outside of the ground. What I find amazing is that it always seems to happen to Liverpool.

    • @crazyphan18
      @crazyphan18 4 года назад +14

      Nick Reeves “The inquests heard the 10,100 fans *with standing tickets* for the Leppings Lane end were expected to enter through just seven turnstiles, causing congestion outside the ground.” You know what 10,000 people going through ONLY seven turnstiles looks like? “Far too many Fans on the outside” Duh. Those rightly ticked individuals went straight down into what they thought was the only way, the opening to Pens 2/3. They were never guided anywhere else.
      So I reiterate, poor architectural planning and a highly negligent police force was to Blame. The truth may have taken more than 20 plus years to come to light but that doesn’t mean it’s out there. Do read or watch a bit more on this before rushing to inaccurate judgement.

And the men with there sons are monsters! For a fact I no if I was there with my son I would of left as soon as it was obvious that when they opened the gates everyone would charge in

  • @sofamiller7133
    @sofamiller7133 3 года назад +3

    Was wondering how this could be police’s fault. This makes it clear, this was just government’s fault. This is what happens when you ask government to do what should be handled by a private company. Police should be overseeing safety IF they are present at all, seeing as how there should be private security to do that.
    And I still think the audience was partially to blame. What could be going through people’s heads to charge through a gate in a crowd like that is beyond me! Have some self-awareness! Look around you-do you feel like a cow headed to slaughter?
