    Could you do a short video on the ion hook & rope spreader vs rope only? Will the hook get snagged while using rope?
    Thanks

    Hi MAC team! Great videos! Quick question about bladders: Normally after some use of the kites I had, the valves did start leaking due to the fact that the glue start to lose its grip because its durability. If I buy an old (previous year) but never used kite does the glue will also be losing its properties or will last as much as if It was a brand kite?

      Hi Luciano, Since the kites are stored in climate controlled warehouses, the glue should hold up just as it does with a current year model. Keep in mind that oftentimes closeout kites are from the last run of the factory. So, while it might be a 2018 model it could have been produced in November of 2018. Another thing to consider, buying a new closeout kite, you will start your warranty period from the time of sale and will have the same 1-year warranty that comes with a current year kite. Bladder delaminations within that period are almost always a warranty-able problem.

    New to the sport.. from Mn.. a lot of snow here with open fields. I am looking for a harness that I can use for both snow and water. any thoughts I have a 32 waist. 5"10 height. 185lbs. also what type of kite should i be looking for. I purchased a 2m practice kite and feel i am ready for the snow this winter. PS I have been to your shop multiple times! sweet place. hope to stop in again in july/august 2018.

      Check out the Dakine Chameleon Harness. It functions as both a seat and a waist harness. The seat portion makes learning easy as you progress, you can try it as a waist harness for more flexibility. There are a number of kites to check out. If you're new, stick with an all-around kite. The Cabrinha Switchblade, The North Evo, The Slingshot Rally or Rpm, The Liquid Force Envy. I could go on. Keep me updated on the progress this winter! Feel free to call or stop by the shop anytime. You can try on a few harnesses and we can talk kites. Cheers! - Rygo

    I lost a lot of weight kiteboarding so now all my harnesses are too big. I'm down to 1 finger strap length on each side. Guess I gotta go buy more... sigh...

      Jin Kim glad you're getting on the water so often! If your harness is still comfortable and doesn't move around too much you should be fine. What harness are you currently using? - Rygo

    An episode on bars, are there versatile bars (not tie to specific vendor) ? Other considerations when looking for bar?

    • @MACkiteboarding
      @MACkiteboarding  5 лет назад

      Hey Noam,
      Great question! Most bars in the industry these days function in the same basic way with only a couple exceptions. Depending on the kite or bar being used you may need a pigtail adapter.
      Do you have a specific bar and kite in mind?

    Don't talk about seat harnesses if you don't have any knowledge about seat harnesses.

      Hey Karl, Thanks for the advice. As you pointed out, perhaps we did not do our best work describing the benefits of seat harnesses in this broad overview of harnesses. Do you have any questions about them that we can help with? If we made a new video specifically about seat harnesses, what info would you find useful?

      I really like my Ion B2. When I was taking lessons, the waist harness poking my sternum was pretty irritating. A seat harness made all the difference. I need to get more exercise for my core muscles though. The day after every session I can feel the soreness where core muscles attach to the top back of my hip bones.
