He did retire - by dying about six months before you posted this comment. And for nearly 60 years he did a lot to help preserve wildlife. And my snark aside - wildlife is wild. I would be more worried if every animal was 100% predictable and sedentary while in a loud TV environment. But I agree with you on one thing - it's sad that animal experts don't get to talk more on these shows.
