When I was 22 I was living in Houston at the time and off Saint Emanuel Street near downtown I stayed in what was an art collective where it was probably about 30 people that would kind of come and go but truly only about five live there and it was a big old factory that had been sitting abandoned as far as I knew and it was just this giant open space. it was sort of a pay what you feel scenario and I gave the guy about 30 bucks a week and I ended up sleeping in a corner. Sounds like not such a great deal until you realize that one of the girls that would come and go always knew where all the secret raves were around Houston.
