2 questions about Ducato: 1) Is it possible to mod the steering to allow for a smaller turning circle? 2) The rear axel hangs so low that it nullifies all the clearance. Is it possible to replace the stock rear axel with something else make it "arched" - more like the American Fords, Dodges and Chevvys?
thanks for this video! I couldn't help notice your extra set of wheels at the back. Good idea. I've got this extra long Eura Mobil also. From 1997. 2.5 TDI engine. My camper has 165,000 km on it. no problems with the driveshafts yet. But I'm about to drive down to Morocco and put on about 5000km. in your opinion does it make sense to preemptively change a driveshaft?
Hi this is really useful thank you so much as we have the same Motorhome. We have a banging noise coming from our Eura Mobil so I am guessing it is either this or an issue with the gearbox ! If you have any more tips I would love to hear them! By the way how many miles has yours done as ours is a 2003 and just done over 50,000miles regards Mark in Kidderminster
Hi Mark. Glad the video was helpful. Our Eura Mobil has around 80k on the clock. It's a 2005 Fiat Ducato JTD. Hope you are able to find the problem without too much hassle!
Man alive that was some torque wrench👊 great video as always
Right! It's a serious torque wrench! Torquing these bolts to nearly 500Nm is quite something!
Roughly how long did it take,, and how long would à Fiat main agency take ?
Use a transfer pump for oil, much easier and quick.

Bet that would have been a lot easier to do working in the SA sun.

New diff seal used? If not, trouble for later.
Useful video thanks, is there a seal where the drive shaft goes in the gear box and did it come with the shaft kit ?

Can you put the gearbox oil back in after? I just changed my gearbox oil & then realized I may want to change my drive shafts.
well that's what i'll try to do. just try to keep it really clean. I put in about 2.9 liters initially, so that's good. i'll have some to spare.
If it's not too old, you should be fine reusing it as long as it's clean.
