Every time I see these type of spaces that are open to nature, I first think that looks so cool my immediate 2nd thought is about how nature has unobstructed access. Nothing to keep out the insects, lizards, snakes, birds, and etc. I stayed in an over water bungalow in The Maldives and had to keep the glass wall that opened up to the ocean closed at night, because the crabs would climb the stairs every night to the deck and I didn't want them all over the room.
Stayed in a nice open villa near the rice fields... during the rainy season, it's the worst as we had several baby cobras seeking shelter in our villa a few times as the fields are flooded...luckily none of us accidentally stepped on them or bitten.
My initial thoughts when seeing this was - EXCEPTIONALLY BEAUTIFUL. But as the tour progressed I couldn't help getting the feeling of claustrophobia. Tight, narrow walkways from one room to another: huge slabes of concrete that is more akin to minimalist designs.... or multistorey Car Parks. Yes, I so wanted to love this house, and my goodness, a tremendous amount of thought and design has gone into it. The tropical zen design is simply magnificent, and those floating steps and little bridges:- Oooo, just exquisite. Yet I so wanted to get in there with a bulldozer and open out that bizarrely closed-in interior. Thank you for the tour and thank you for posting.
Hey Stuart, Thank you so much for watching and sharing your opinion. We really appreciate you taking the time to do so. Your initial thoughts are spot on this stay is exceptional beautiful. It’s sounds like aspects of this space make up your perfect place with a few changes here and there to make it just right for you 😊
Balitecture is simply special, they always make original groundfloor plans and it works, for example privacy at the pool (with mini beach area) despite of being part of the same big living area. integrating a pool into a living room is risky but it works in this case. many nice ideas in bali that have to be appreciated
Hi there, thanks for watching. Biombo Architects were behind this design. They did indeed do an incredible job. 😊 We are currently editing two more Bali episodes from other designers coming super soon.
I've seen this house toured by some channels that don't do a very good job, but I appreciate that you guys always manage to show the entire property. It's really beautiful, and I hope you had an amazing time there!
Thank you so much for the incredible feedback. We had the most amazing time there and felt very lucky and fortunate we were given the opportunity to experience and share such a breathtaking property. :)
Beautiful indeed! I love all of rhe indoor/outdoor vibes! But sometimes I do wonder if some architects forget that bedroom = tired and groggy. Did you ever have concerns navigating that walkway in the mornings, stunning as it is?
Hey thanks for watching! We didn't have any concerns at all about that. It is a pretty wide walkway so I guess for that reason it never crossed our minds now to think of it. But to see and experience this stay in person is really something special. Have a lovely day! ☺
Beautiful home the only thing is the lack of outside space I’m not too sure on how much sun you would get coming into the home, at each end of the pool I know it’s open but what is it like for sunlight how many hours a day would you get for sunbathing.
Hey dean, If you are after a stay that has sun loungers in full sun for most the day during your stay in Bali please do check out our other episodes that we were lucky enough to film during our time there ☺️ Thank so much for watching!
This has better finishings than most houses in Bali have, cozy and unique despite the waste of second floor space from the ceiling height, but the main reason I would not live in a home like that is the lack of a proper garden where you can play soccer with kids, feel the grass under your feet, sunlounge and were dogs can go to the toilet. Not everybody wants a garden, but many do and it gets really expensive in Bali to find an affordable house with a decent garden. The problem of high land prices results in developers squeezing in as many houses, rooms and living areas as possible while there is often no free green area left. But design is much more than what there is, it's what there isn't which creates a balance. High walls create a prison feeling, high plants not. Great finishings though!
Too bad it's so high maintenance. In terms of spatial creation this concept is good. In terms of daily maintenance, I think it's very high maintenance.
Thanks so much for watching! This sure is the Perfect Place to book for a getaway as then there is no need to worry about the maintenance! The amazing team that host this stay are incredible and have all these details coved so every guest can relax and enjoy.
You can sweep the floor into the plants 😅 I made an outdoor area, not quite this swanky but some natural concepts..a smaller design and it was extremely low maintenance. My floor got mopped with every shower I take 😅 kitchen scraps right onto the plants etc etc etc.
Hi there BeGood-DoGood1, We didn’t share this information when presenting to camera but can definitely let you know where you can see it in the footage - It can be seen on screen at 12:51 and again at the very end, it has been placed to be perfectly inline with the bridge that passes over the lap pool 😊
😊 the word "absolutely" was used 234 times!!! The word "space" was used 176 times!!! I'm fine to see what's being shown. BUT hearing those words over and over and on occasions 3 times in the same sentence!! Sheez! It hurts!
Hey there, yeah I definitely agree the words absolutely and space were over used in this episode. My nerves definitely get the better of me at times, leading to the over use of certain words. I have room for improvement on how I deliver and present. Thanks for the feedback and thanks for watching. Have a great day! 😊
