  • In this video, I go over the installation of a Trac Bar. This ended up being my last suspension mod. In my opinion, the stock suspension of the Sprinter Cutaway/Cab chassis that the Winnebago sits on handles terribly in windy conditions or when trucks pass you.
The company that makes the Trac Bar is SuperSteer (Henderson's Line Up). They have a big background on installing suspension modifications on RV's. I have no affiliation with the company.
Link to their Trac bar video: • How to Install the SS7...
I also recommend you check out their other videos on Sprinter van suspension modifications. In my opinion, the Koni adjustable front struts, rear sway bar, rear shocks, and trac bar are a must do item. The rear suspension also needs stronger leaf springs, and you can achieve that by getting an add a leaf product. Hopefully SuperSteer will add that to their parts list in the future.
Many people may not be able to do these modifications as a DIY, but I've seen people make journeys to Henderson's Line up to get the work done.

Your HARD work and video descriptions of the "Sway Bar" really helps! Thanks! ☺

Great DIY video, and an excellent description of sway vs. tailwag and how they both can be a factor in crosswinds and when passed by semi trucks! Thanks for all the shoutouts :)

Thank you. The RV community really needed a company to help on the Sprinter Cab Chassis based Motorhome aftermarket suspension improvements. Hopefully many more people find out that your company can help. Especially the ones that aren't physically able to do the work.

Thank you, I've been looking at the same thing. Can't wait for your evaluation. Also waiting for evaluation of front shock change.

In my opinion, every component has made small incremental improvements, and all of them are necessary. There wasn't a single component that fixed everything, as they all have different functions. The front adjustable Koni's are a must do, as they will also help with the porpoising. The trac bar helps with the wind, but not a magic cure to fix everything, but does make improvements. My best suggestion is to call Henderson's Line up and get their take. The sprinter chassis has many areas that need assistance for better driving.

This is very useful. Thanks. Would this work for 2018 sprinter chasis?

It will. I suggest calling Henderson's Lineup. They have many suspension modifications for the Sprinter Chassis. Call them and ask for Tommy. He can walk you through any items you may need.

The upgraded sway bar and track bar is $1,100. Do you feel like this really helped? Which bar helped most? I have noticed the Sprinter I have is getting looser as the mileage increases. The biggest issue seems to be the wind is affecting the drive. When I first bought my Sprinter, I could set cruise 72-75 without complaining about ride. Now I’m 65-67 and on windy days and Wife will get nauseous after couple hours. Will my money be well spent on the upgrades and which one makes bigger difference?

I would say the sway bars helped the most and a must do item. The track bar was more over the top mod. If your sprinter has been getting worse, your shocks may need to be updated to new aftermarket shocks. They will make a big difference. In my opinion, you should do the sway bar, new rear shocks from supersteer, and new koni front adjustable struts. Once you do those, then determine if the Trac Bar is necessary.
