    Hi Kitty! Just wanted to let you know I'm so happy you somehow showed up in my recommended list on RUclips. I'm from the Netherlands and currently 25 weeks pregnant with my first, a baby girl, and I love your videos. I truly love your personality--you come across as such a genuine, down to earth, and kind-hearted person. When I watch your videos, it feels like a friend is talking to me, because it just feels so authentic and real (and because you seem to have the same sense of humor as I do 😁). Thank you for what you do! ♥️

    i know sound machines are more aesthetically pleasing, but when it comes to white noise for baby i found that a fan worked best for us. just a plain fan from walmart, it created a steady noise for baby to sleep to plus it kept the room cool. not cold but cool, i found that baby slept better when the room was on the cooler side. so it was a win win

    Just letting other mommas know that Snuggle me organic or any kind of lounger is extremely unsafe for safe sleep. Baby has to be alone, on their back in a crib , bassinet or pnp. (According to AAP recommendations)

    I love the squeal my baby makes when I hold him up and tip him side to side, like Joel does in the intro. My baby is 4 months old and I felt the same as you, I didn't want a ton of stuff. Excited to see what you recommend. I liked the k'tan too. It was the best. I'd love it if you could continue to do these every 4 months or so, if you could. Harriet is adorable!!

      @Averagemom420 5 лет назад +19

      Rayna Selvage Thank you for saying that. so many frightening SIDS risks with these “cosleeping” devices!! Babies should always be on their backs on a firm surface in their own space near mom or dad. No fluffy blankets or bumper. I really enjoyed her video except the cosleep promotion!

    I am SO happy I found this video! I am beyond overwhelmed with building a baby registry. We're visiting a BuyBuy Baby next week to maybe help us get a better idea of what all we need but I feel this is even more helpful. We have very similar aesthetics (which is not common amongst the mom-vloggers on YT, I've found!). I just hit my second trimester so I've only just bought some maternity jeans and that's really it. I'm going to check out your other videos! (I really hope you have a nursery tour!) Thanks for sharing!

    • @KawaiiNeko84
      @KawaiiNeko84 5 лет назад +5

      pictureperfect06 according to the AAP you're not. However, if she's like me and most other moms you do what works best for your family. For 3 months my child slept in one until we moved her to her crib. Never had an issue, and it helped us easily transition her from our bed to her own space. She's 5 months and no longer sleeps in it, but it was a life saver for us during the early months.

    • @lilbeebaby93
      @lilbeebaby93 5 лет назад +9

      You are correct! If your baby is only ever sleeping in approved spaces you will not have a heard time with it because they don’t know there are other options. The snuggle me is not safe for sleep, and especially not safe as a cosleeper! The AAP has all the best info for safe sleep. I do not understand the risks some people will take.

    I just want to let other new moms know that the snuggle me is not a safe sleep space! Baby need to be in a crib, pack n play or bassinet, flat on their backs, with no other people or things like blankets, pillows or soft sides. If baby were to roll into the sides of a snuggle me they cannot breathe. Follow AAP guidelines for safe sleep to ensure the safety of your baby.

In the beginning of my mom's pregnancy she couldn't even get out of bed, but *strong* and I mean *strong* ginger tea helped. Maybe you would get an on-the-go coffee cup and put some of that in it on the way. That's what my mom did if she had to go somewhere which was quite rarely though. Hi I’m also from the uk and heard that America has no set maternity leave it’s one of the only developed countries in the world that doesn’t have one you can ask maternity leave from your employer or company most often they only say a month but sometimes right after birth women have to return to work which is sad

    • @annarocha3254
      @annarocha3254 4 года назад

      @@hamboogermember4232 Yes. Our maternity leave isn't great. We have 12 weeks of protected time off -meaning we legally cannot be fired within that time- but most of that time would be unpaid. In certain states you can apply for programs that will cover your pay for up to eight of those 12 weeks.

    • @zzevonplant
      @zzevonplant 5 лет назад +1

      I seriously don't think it's worth it, just my opinion. You're not going to be using it long enough to justify spending that much money on it and I seriously doubt it's THAT much better than a lot of the *much, much, much* cheaper strollers. I don't see the difference at all. Maybe that's just me though, I don't know, but I know I sure as hell couldn't afford a stroller like that and even if I could I'd never spend that much on one. I mean, what exactly does it do or what qualities does it have that other strollers don't? I don't quite get why it's that expensive. :/

    This is such a thoughtful video, thank you for sharing.
    Do you find that a crib is a necessity? When did she start using it or if not yet, when do you think she will?

      Terasaur 13 haha that’s my biggest purchasing regret. She did nap in there a few times but doesn’t sleep there. I think a nursery is a big unnecessary for the first few months but I enjoyed the process of creating it while pregnant so I’m still happy we did it! All you really need is a place to change your baby (doesn’t eve have to be a dedicated changing table), a rocket/glider and place to store clothes, diapers, etc. everything else is just a pretty bonus!

    What on Earth is ‘registering for?’ We don’t have this right in uk...

      It's like a wedding gift list. But for a baby! It's crazy. Consumerism is alive and well in the Capitalist dystopia of the USA!

      K T what?! So people get everyone else to buy things they’ve ‘registered’ for for the baby? That’s wild! We get gifts here but you don’t ask for things.. sometimes people will say ‘is there anything you don’t have yet, or need?’
      😂🙈 it’s crazy how different things can be! Xxxx

      @@tashatomkinson3674 yup! I guess it makes sense if you know people are going to buy stuff, you might as well get stuff you need and want. But I just hate the idea of it cos it seems like you expect gifts, even though it's not always like that. I've got some American friends who have announced their pregnancies on social media and included a link to the registry!

      K T oh god I can’t imagine that 😂 I’d make the most of it though! Plus in the uk it’s free for us to have a baby in the sense of having the NHS! so we’re very lucky in that sense! I’m not entirely sure how it works in America xx

      @@tashatomkinson3674 I think the worst thing in America is the lack of maternity pay. I think you get like 2 weeks of time off with statutory pay, it's crazy!

    This could not have come at a better time! I was just looking through your instagram today to see what baby items you found essential. I know you said you went back to work and are cloth diapering. What are your tips on cloth diapering and getting your care giver on board with the process? We are hoping to use pocket diapers when baby is big enough. Baby will be going to day care or a sitter around 3 months. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Love your content!

      osugradgirl2011 our daycare lady is really easy going and used to cloth diaper her kids. When I showed her our she was so impressed with how easy they are! I have two larger wet bags that I bring her, along with the diapers each week. I try to take the diapers home mid week and end of week. Sometimes I forget and just get them all Friday to wash. We also brought a box of disposable as backups. Works really well for us for the past few months! I’ll make a cloth diaper video update especially now that she’s on solids!

    The difference between snuggleme and babynests, is that a baby can sleep in a baby nest unattended if the fabric is breathable which most of them are. A baby can’t sleep without supervisiom in a snuggleme .. too risky.

    I have a snuggle me organic for supervised sleep but I just wanted to mention in case anyone viewing this is unaware (She does mention in the description that the company does not recommend for unsupervised sleep) but they are extremely unsafe for co-sleeping as they are a serious suffocation risk. Everyone can do as they please of course but there have been many cases of infant deaths due to loungers/sleepers/swings being used for unsupervised sleep. Absolutely no hate towards this channel at all I just wanted to provide info that I was grateful to have heard before I used it for unsupervised sleep.
