I like the band's musical talent, their heaviness in both vocals and instrumentals is on a level that few, if any other bands have ever reached. Their lyrics are absolutely abhorrent and I can't imagine a decent person liking the lyrics for any reason other than to give the finger to boundaries of what is acceptable in music.

Infant Annihilator is a double edged sword they are technically extremely skilled. On the Topic of the Lyrics.. or the Band Concept as a whole.. its over the top to the extreme on purpose - and that isnt my cup of tea.
I think you'll understand better with a quote from Dickie Allen on the process of writing the lyrics:
"The way that we went about writing the lyrics was with the mindset: if it is physically uncomfortable and sickening for us to write, then we are on the right track."
"... for the new Infant Annihilator album ... I was trying to be as vulgar as possible, keeping the same feel as the first album but honestly stepping it up a notch."
It is meant to archieve that sickening uncomfortable feeling. And judging by your reaction Dickie Allen has succeeded.

Well we finally got a song that really offended Vin. The irony is that this band's essentially trolling people who might get offended. Its over the top in every way. Lyrically and musically. Offensive as hell but in a way meant to really offend and sicken people. Not like Steel Panther which is meant to be offensive but in a silly sexual way. More mocking the excesses of 80's band. Infant Annihilator even from their name you know what they are going for. That said. this song actually is I think trying to be semi serious in that its leveling quite the commentary at the catholic church. Certainly disgustingly made, but the idictment against men of the cloth being rapists isn't exactly wrong either. They took that little nugget of fact and then built a narrative around it. Though I found this reaction interesting because of the "vin being offended part". I found that I actually enjoyed this far less than I expected I would.
I will say this, what Sori was saying about back alley abortions not being a fair equivalence is wrong. I'm sorry it just is. However, as I mentioned in a middle america topic, it not something I am prepared to debate anyone about. Not publically. I would talk one on one with you guys about it but only because I trust you guys. For me this issue,. it cuts both ways. I can't ignore Sori's right as a mother who is carrying a child to be outraged. At the same time I feel you have to ackowledge that those doctors which you seem to imply are murdering these kids are in fact saving lives. Taking them yes maybe, but there are 100% cases where an abortion has saved a mother's life. But abortion, more than politics, more than any other issue is one where its nearly impossible for people to talk about it dispassionately. Watching this video you see why. My only thing to both of you is that its very very important that regardless of how you feel (and I am not asking you to change that) we watch how we dehumanize the other side. I feel like in this video you were towing awful close to that line. Both of you are beautiful people, so it makes me sad when I hear stuff that seems like you look at someone as murderous or sociopathic. I feel like I am explaining myself terribly. Its also possible I hold you guys to way to high a standard. Regardless I just had a tough time with this reaction. I had to stop it at several points and come back t it.

But the hidden gems, bands like Ne Obliviscaris and Vektor, they will never get enough votes on the website. I'm voting every day but its unlikely to have have any effect).
If you guys like this style of music but not the subject matter you would probably love Origin (band). This is a difficult genre to nail down. Its ultra technical death metal to be sure but it has elements of other subgenre's as well.
I agree on you. The lyrical content and the music are both over the top. I like raw music, but this sounds like quite a mess. Lyrically Infant Annihilator will shock to shock.... I also very agree with your recommendation of Allegaeon and the way it has to be requested. I've been requesting Proponent... now for three and a half months every day on you tube and I've been recommending them in the Underground. Obviously not with success. Sometimes the recommendation gets to 15 thumbs up, sometimes 1😁. I guess that depends on which band was played and reacted to. I just keep on requesting my favourite and practice some patience.
Yeah, Origin and Wormed would be good choices for this kind of ultra-technical Death Metal without the shocking for the sake of shock bullshit.

For people saying that Infant Annihilator isn't a serious band: Their lyrical themes are very brutal, extreme and fictional. This doesn't mean that the band isn't serious. Sure it might not be as "Serious" as other bigger mainstream bands, but if this wasn't serious they would not have put down as much time as they have into this project. They've been working on their new upcoming album for a very long time and will probably be their best one yet. That being said, you don't have to like any of the music if it isn't your thing.

Listen to the song "Behold the Kingdom of the Wretched Undying" and read the lyrics along with it. Thay got me into actually wanting to know the story and to my surprise from beginning to earn it's a whole entire story. Their latest album is even more conceptual.

I seldom agree with your views, but, I adore your ability to look at these lyrics objectively, within the framework of your beliefs. You didn't dismiss the lyrics at all. AT ALL. You recognized the goal, which was to tell a horrific story; and to evoke an emotion of outrage. IA clearly does not condone these actions - they are story tellers. The story is revolting, and that is reflected in the extremity of the music.

If you listen to this song in context with the rest of the album it is undoubtedly only about the church. This song in particular from a literal lyrical standpoint is about a priest at a hospital raping a stillborn child hence the name soil the stillborn and the "paper gravestones".

Infant Annihilator basically exists to be ridiculous, on all levels. Great musicians basically just being memes in the best way.
So as most responses pointed out thus far, Infant Annihilator are a joke band and they're being over the top for shock value. However, let's say they were being dead serious about this song. 100% dead serious. You reviewed a Nile song where the lyrics were from the perspective of a radical. You've reviewed a Cannibal Corpse song where the lyrics were from the perspective of a radical person. You've reviewed a Cradle Of Filth song where the lyrics were from the perspective of a murderous necrophile AND LIKED IT. Why is it so heinous for Infant Annihilator to do the same thing here? It feels like such a double standard. Vin, either campy over the top schlock horror is acceptable or it's not - and we all know you liked the movie Hellraiser and continue to enjoy the band Cradle Of Filth so it's pretty apparent to us that you're on board with schlock horror. Is involving children really the line for you? If this song were about not abortions would you have been okay with it?
Also since you asked about genre, technical deathcore? It has elements of technical death metal while also having some slammy core riffs. It's like slam death metal but with less groove and more precision, if that makes sense.

@@phish9244 I'm going to be that old guy papa metal and be like "back in my day..." but when I'm thinking slam I'm thinking more like Dying Fetus, Pyrexia, Katalepsy, Ingurgitate, Eternal Suffering, Suture, etc. that all have a more traditional death metal vocal approach while still having slam riffs. Might be a bit more old school slam than most people are used to. Though I guess if you got into slam post 2005 I could see how most of your reference points would be that lower guttural style of vocals. I kinda blame Heinous Killings for starting the myspace metal trend of trying to impersonate The Predator.
