Cracking Trail, Trail and Video 10/10, really weird seeing a man-made trail all the way up there, Would you have felt more stable on the trusty Evil ? At least I don't need to feel jealous watching your latest video as I'm finally back on the bike
"Lost a bit of confidence here..." then takes hand off the bars on a rocky techy descent to clean the camera screen 👌😂😂😂 epic ride mate, you made it look easy (mostly) 😎
Hi Bud, New to your Channel, thank lock down for that. Getting back into the MTB after 9 years down south and going back to Golspie is on the list. Then a Coulags - Achnashellach loop. Question is it looks like you've used a chin mount, but can you tell me which one. Nice Deer dodge BTW, been there.... Keep up the good work.
Welcome to the channel, and welcome back to the best sport in the world 😜 I just DIY’d my mount for videos like this one but the guys over at Gnartec offer the best option for mounting. gnartec.com/product/360-action-cam-mount/
This record might not last for long - Nevis Range have anounced plans to build a lift-served blue bike trail from 650m - 90m which will need to do a lot of traversing and be fairly shallow to make it a blue route, so it could end up being very long. This track however looks emense!
@@McTrailRider Yes one run out on me at 120mph a decade ago, friend went to retrieve wrecked bike but decided the deceased deer was way more tasty, took up mountain biking as part of recovery to find it was a more enjoyable way of damaging myself! (coma)Watched your ride on descent of cutgate between manchester and sheffield, it used to be part of a 96 mile loop (At 48 yrs old) i occasionally did, thanks for content keep up the good work. back up this weekend hopefully in the hope of smashing 30 mph.............badly
Low fly zone because the RAF do low flying training exercises around there. Also helicopters flying in and to the North Sea rigs, don’t want to hit a drone in a jet at 900mph 😂
duke of sutherland , he was the man who cleared the workers off the land in the early 18th century and replaced them with sheep. it was a very brutal time and the clearances still upset people today , and some even want the statue removed . i do not of course history is just that, history ! cheers a great ride really enjoyed that .. cheers
Awesome descent, looked quite sketchy in places, my heart skipped a beat when that deer ran out in front of you, that must of been a scary moment for you, great job as always :)
Golspie descent is fantastic. Struggled on the way up but the weather was incredible. Views all around. PS your camera is incredible! New suscriber, really enjoying your videos!
Having visited most UK trail centres over the years and also being a Stainburn digger I have to say that a dry Golspie is the best of all of them in one descent. Each third feels different and its not to far to session the lower two. Great vid, good luck with your new lives.
Man this is an awesome Trail. It starts really smooth. In the middle it is "ruppig" (that's how we call it in Germany) and at the end it let's you fly.Really good Video.
I was up at Golspie during the summer - amazing venue - stunning views from the summit. The community have done a great job on the trails. Well worth the effort to drive up there.
Holy crap I jumped out of my seat on the deer. Everyone I have heard talking about the Hero 7 has complained about the stabilization but yours seems fine.
Came here because of Daily MTB Rider's mention in his GoPro Hero 7 video. Wanted to see more chin mounted footage. This looks epic. Great to see more UK based MTB vids too. Stabilisation loos epic here. That tail though - dude thats sketchy as f***! haha.
I hope your trip is going well, certainly looks like it. That is a great trail, I rode it years ago not long after it opened. Still holds its own. Defo one of the few proper black graded trails. I think Learnie Red Red Rocks would make a nice wee edit. Its on the black isle. Might be worth a wee look on your travels. Another great vid!
Awesome video that trail looked very sketchy in places, had a deer jump out on me from a corn field once, makes you jump ha ha, nice video keep them coming. Maybe that was your best video yet.😁
Lovin your bike trips! Not much sucks more than having to push your e-bike up a hill, I know this! Soul destroying. I carried my phantom4 in backpack on my bike but so worried about crashing, I’ve never done it again! Looking forward to seeing more of your travels 🤘🏼
Smashing vid and a trail I've always wanted to do but never made it that far north. It would be good to get a wee trail review at the end of the vid to see what you think it was like and how it compares to other similar trials in Scotland.
It's great seeing the trail on the hero 7,its my local trail, you see plenty of deer and wild life if you head up there at night too. Hope you managed to Learnie, well worth a visit as they have just done it up. Great video 👍
Was up there on holiday last week rode there most days . It’s an epic descent rock fest up top tight and techy as you enter the woods and a full out flowy finish perfect 👌. All the best for the big adventure
Great vid I mentioned these trails last year to you these are my locals, they have good off beat trails that have been made too, great to see you up hear and the monument is for the clearances, great to see you up this end of the woods. Would have been out myself but education comes first sadly.
Heading up that way next week and can't wait! Got Learnie Red Rocks, Abriachan, The Mast, Contin and now Golspie on my list. Hoping the weather is kind and I can get a few epics up Glen Affric and Cannich in too.
Not surprised! Dude, just discovered your channel this week - what a fantastic resource for Scottish mountain bikers! And such a huge growth in a year. Congrats
I was lucky enough to ride this trail very recently. A1 descent. The climb is pretty gentle so E bike is not essential. Great video as usual. Keep em coming!
..several times i was grabbing the brakes, just watching this,lol...man,awesome descent, would love to come and do that one ,one day...my Grandfather is buried up that way,in Lybster, which i think is not too far from Golspie, the name rang a bell anyways...great vid once again Andrew...cheers dude!.
Great video! Love my Levo!! Good to see your uphill footage as well as decent, as climbing on an eMTB is sooo much fun. The Hero 7 is amazing! Did you have an additional tie mic as there was no wind distortion on the mic?? This was shared in the "eBike Smile eMTB Community" fb group which brought me here, so hope you get lots more views.
great video, trail seems to be well made, awesome rock berms, and a heart attack when the dear jumped out, holy shit my heart rate went to about 200, lol
Kudos 🤙🏼 Wee bit knarly in places eh! Did you manage to make it to Balblair, just down the road from Golspie...really underrated Trails. Hope your good lady is feeling a little less tender 🙏
I’m always at the age of my seat when watching your videos! What a ride and also what a view! Just nature heaven all around. I’d get too distracted when seeing a nice birch tree or a fantastic mountain scene. :) How are you finding the audio? Sounds great to me. Are you having to post process the audio heavily?
Ah, the Duke of Sutherland monument. Ridden the Golspie trails twice in the past, as part of a couple of Cairngorm weekend/bank holiday trips. It's a fair old trek up from here though!

Thanks Clive. Those rocks were so slippy 😱
My closed trail. You did well for it being so wet.
It’s one seriously slippy place in the wet😬

Nice one!! Definitely a trail that goes even better after a few runs to know which jumps you can go for and which bits to take easy.
Holy Shit! I was braking for you!! A great, submersive video Andy. Well done mate. Loved the deer near the end. Loving the HERO 7 :)
That was awesome. Great job as always Mc!! 👏👏

First video I have watched !! You are mental flying down that !! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Great video, I have to deduct a few points for using the ebike for the climb 😉
Love that trail. Hope you managed to sample the café at the car park.

Nice one, your videos are always top notch 👍 only going to get better with drone and hero 7 on this trip!
Superb video! 👌
Nice video man! Every time I see Hero 7 footage it makes me want to buy one... Also planning a trip to this trail for next year
did you use the gopro 7 with a gimbal (if so, wich one) or just the internal electronic stabilization + some post production stabilization?
damn! this means the hero7 really is the beginning of the end for the gimbal :)
Looks like a great trail brave man riding them rocks in the wet definitely a return visit needed in the dry 👍👍
Props for riding that all out mate! Looks slippy as heck with those pine needles in the wet!
