Thank you for pointing it out. Perhaps with more advanced instruments, and higher grade of the bridge, that would be the case. However, here we need to find a middle ground, so we have to consider a few factors. 1. This is a (student) factory, low quality maple wood, therefore material is not as hard as better quality bridges, which consequently does not give us much choice than to keep it slightly thicker. From years of experience when bridge is cut too thin it will bend or brake quickly and we don't want our customers to spending extra money unnecessarily. 2. slightly thicker bridge will add to warm tone especially when we thinking about brand new student instument.
