Once this theme came on, it was already over. Rugal brutally murdered Heidern in 10 seconds within the fight starting. Because of the rules, we could only watch Heidern get eviscerated. He was screaming for help as his face got grabbed and dragged through the metal wall. Rugal screamed "KAISER WAVE" and sent him out of the air ship, bloody and beaten.

Well, there has been about 7 Rugal variants (2 if you don't count EACH playable and boss forms or 8 if you count all AND the pocket version of 98' *TEN* if you count God/Ultimate Rugal and his normal form in the CVS series), and the strain of making a tall character at similar size to Maxima would be stressing. A sprite is done each day by SNK when they get a game down so I believe if they were to make another KOF game, it would have a few dream match cycles and they should introduce Rugal one more time, Omega mode or not. His son Adel hasn't really got much gameplay, only two appearances (XI and 2003 as a boss). Rugal has appeared in 4 games so far (6 if you count the pocket version mentioned above, same goes with CVS). I believe he could make another appearance. Just don't be an ultimate dick with priorities is all I ask of SNK. And for other dream matches, for the love of god, I *don't* want to see Nightmare Geese again and his final challenge cheapness (infinite lvl 5 and button reading? WTF?) Then again, there is ways around it. Besides, if they go back to the story format, they have to replace Ash in some way like how they replaced K9999 with Nameless who played similar and was somewhat different (though it wasn't story related, he was hated by SNK and replaced out of spite instead). Personally, by final opinion, Rugal should appear one more time as a dream character that's a balanced playable but _without_ the omega variant. He hasn't gotten one since 98' (Not counting UM of that game of course). Adel should get another playable appearance. He was planned for KOF XIII but was scrapped early in development. Then there is the concerning Ash replacement. SNK has a lot to go through before even dealing with the Rugal and Adel idea.
+LightSoul ADV (LightSoul98) Honestly, after playing 2001, I'll happily fight Rugal again. Seriously, the final bosses in that game made me completely change my perspective on Rugal. At least he wasn't them.
marplatense31 True that, Igniz could infinite you against your will if he wanted to in 2001. Rugal was mostly difficult, but it is possible to defeat him if you know what to do. 2002 UM took me a few Arcade Redo's because I lost to him a bit thanks to the "Game Over" bullcrap if you lose once to him.

'95 Rugal had concept of love, so i think that SNK's composers were probably using the same sets of samples that SEGA composers used later on for Sonic and Jet Set Radio

Yeah it was always quite depressing to have your team of three who had triumphed over everyone so far be destroyed by one man :) The safest tactic I always found was hiding in a corner and taking him down with crouching strong kicks whenever he came at you. Nothing to be proud of, but it works.
I don't know who? but this is not the original arranged version from the Neo-Geo CD that I got back when the game came out. Alot of it is the same, but the voice sample etc have been added some years down the track. Still awesome though :)
I just got into FF and KOF thanks to SSBU introducing me to Terry and NONE of my experience from the previous fighting games I played (SF, MK, SSB and BlazBlue) could ever prepare me on how cheap this horrible man was. His theme is awesome though and kept me going till I finally won.
