    great video ... thought why you configure 1000 reference bandwidth on gigabit ethernet interfaces instead of 10000 ... to make the CISCO OSPF cost 10 ?

  • @antontaylor2054
    @antontaylor2054 3 года назад +5

    Okay Question, I understand for the most part why we would want to change the cost of the bandwidth and why it has to be done on every router configured with ospf, but I still lack fully comprehending how auto-cost reference bandwidth works . Also the assignment said to make the cost 10 for GigaEthernet and 100 for FaEthernet. but the command you used made it a cost of 1 for gig. Atleast when I did a "show ip ospf interface on the g0/0/0" links so shouldn't the auto-cost ref-bandwidth command specified 10000?

    el auto-cost debe ser 10000! hay un error en el netacad porque lo considera invalido, si se coloca 1000 como en el video si lo acepta como correcto pese a que no cumple con lo solicitado (cost 10 para giga eth y 100 para fast eth)... si estoy equivocado favor de aclararme la duda, gracias

    Hello There. Great video and the explanation:) Just want to check why we need to configure the cost value of P2P-1 Interface serial0/1/1 to 50 and also the hello and dead interval timers to 20 and 80? Thank you

    • @TechAcad
      @TechAcad  4 года назад +1

      Hi
      The Network administrator can change the cost, if wish to change the route. Otherwise by default the OSPF will learn the best path using its cost.
      Even we can change the hello-interval and dead-interval default values.
