From the outside, it seems he lacked focus and then was caught up in a lawsuit originating from a fight with a buddy at a party and ended up in jail for a bit. He's got so much obvious bike talent I hope he can still make a comeback.
He was used to having people take care of everything for him, he's still not a man and just depends on somebody somewhere stepping up and giving him stuff and supporting him. If he can still race then more power to him, but Hansen is probably not the best influence for him.

Its gonna take a long time to compete with JS,RV,RD,Bam bam, CR and a healthy Millsaps. Look at how difficult it is for Stewart to win and he is in racing shape and one of the best in the world.
Never been a JLaw fan, still ain't. The kid was stupid with his talent and money, but I also understand he was a kid. I'm sure he blew through his money and now has two choices: Get a real job with zero work skills and earn pennies if even employable compared to racing paychecks) or try to go back and try racing again. Hanging with Hansen and Hill aren't the greatest choices from prior history. Sigh, so much talent, so little brains. I'll wish him the best but some people just don't learn
For the people that think I'm being judgmental your being judgmental by calling me judgmental. Anyway, we make judgements about people all the time, its necessary, the key is to do it based on facts and not be overly biased and realize we can't see the whole person inside and out. with Jason the facts speak for themselves and he is just one of those self destructive people, at least so far. I like to see everyone get a second chance but he's on 3 or 4 now and his ship has sailed in motocross.
He can't compete with Villopoto, Dungey, Barcia, etc. He'll get lit up and just quit again. He was supposed to start at Hangtown this year? Where is he?

It seems he just waits for someone to hold his hand and take care of him, I don't think he knows how to just live like a man and take care of business and he won't until he has too. He will either sink or swim just like the rest of us.
