    Great idea and set-up. Come a long way since the days when I had a heat exchanger (Helton) plumbed-up to the Patrols diesel engine and had to use one of those goddamm pop-up shower/toilet tents.....but it worked and, like you, we used a 20 litre bucket of water, cycled it through until it was at the right temp, then switched the engine off. You'd never expect that we could shower 3 kids and ourselves in that amount of water. We achieved that by tipping the 20 litres into a Nally tub so most of the water was being recycled. I always had the last shower....kids first, then missus, then me.....and bugga me if I didn't get to have the longest shower, because I didn't have be conservative!!! hahaha

    The availability is almost nil in Brisbane, and at one point there was none in Australia through Anaconda. I had to replace my first one under warranty, but couldn't get one fron Anaconda, had to wait until stock came in, but BCF got them in before Anaconda. So, I have a new one now, and I have only tested it at home so far, the first one didn't work after the test, but this new one is good. They are a brilliant thing, and your setup is brilliant too! Might have to change my setup idea now lol. Cheers m8

    Do you know if you can use an external pump. Like a 6lpm that you could pump from a creek etc?

    Not a fan of running a gas appliance inside a canopy, fumes etc, also the other issue aside from potential water spray entering the canopy is it will leave a nice wet spot right in a main walking area. The concept of these showers are good but having them on a fold out bracket to pivot it out and away from the canopy. A cheaper and more compact option is just one of the companion shower pumps and just heat the water via a fire/cooktop. Works exactly the same but 1/6th the cost, no extra gas bottles needed and arguably more reliable

    • @TyFenwick
      @TyFenwick 2 года назад +4

      We can’t always use fire in some parks so gas or electric would be your only option in those places. The swing out arms don’t move the shower out enough in my experience to even make the slightest difference of water being on the ground.

  • @chuckberry7692

    • @TyFenwick

      I had to use it when I renovated my bathroom at home. I got I think about 2 weeks worth of showers out a little gas bottle mate.
