Bill Moggridge 1943-2012

A tribute to esteemed museum director Bill Moggridge, who passed away on September 8, 2012 following a battle with cancer. I knew Bill Moggridge as a student at the Central School of Art and Design Holborn. We and a group of fellow students met socially, he was always good company.
I left the Central,gaining employment at the Hatfield Polytechnic as a lecturer. Our paths never crossed again.

Bill is someone whom I spoke to a few years ago for the first time. I had studied Interaction Design (a "self-defined" major) at Carnegie Mellon, without ever knowing him. I was influenced by Raskin and others, but Moggridge was someone whom I had no idea I had followed in his footsteps until I had. He and I think in similar ways and he'll be sorely missed. He was kind to me and helped me ask hard questions of a person who is to me a industry nemesis.
