- A tribute to esteemed museum director Bill Moggridge, who passed away on September 8, 2012 following a battle with cancer. Hear about his pioneering work and influence in the field of design from Tim Brown and David Kelley of IDEO, Bernie Roth of Stanford University and Caroline Baumann and Cara McCarty of Cooper-Hewitt, National Design Museum.
I knew Bill Moggridge as a student at the Central School of Art and Design Holborn. We and a group of fellow students met socially, he was always good company.
I left the Central, gaining employment at the Hatfield Polytechnic as a lecturer. Our paths never crossed again.
RIP Peter Thompson.
The eyes of a person never lie. It seems to me that he was a gift that combined knowledge and attitude. Rest In Peace and may the people that you influnced continue your mission and make the world better!
Thank you for changing the world for the better with your ideas ... R.I.P ... Respect.
Bill is someone whom I spoke to a few years ago for the first time. I had studied Interaction Design (a "self-defined" major) at Carnegie Mellon, without ever knowing him. I was influenced by Raskin and others, but Moggridge was someone whom I had no idea I had followed in his footsteps until I had. He and I think in similar ways and he'll be sorely missed. He was kind to me and helped me ask hard questions of a person who is to me a industry nemesis.
We need more people like Bill. I have faith that his legacy will guarantee that.
Respect!
Without him, it would be impossible understand the world today
Changed the World..
