Great video! I'm pretty sold on upgrading my 2017 iMac 21.5-inch (3.6 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7, 16GB Ram, Radeon Pro 560 4GB Graphics, 1TB Fusion Drive) with this new 27-inch 5K iMac. Bigger/higher resolution screen, upgradable RAM, incredible graphics upgrade, SSD standard, seems like a no brainer. Can't wait for you next video because my biggest question is whether it'd be worth it to upgrade to the 10-Core for a video editor. I edit in Resolve 16 Studio, Blackmagic RAW 4K files, and I use the Thunderblade external SSD. Edits usually go fine until I do any denoising and it's all shot to hell. Exports seem to take a while too, but I do downscale to 1080 if that makes a difference. I assumed that was all graphics-related, and was going to pass on the 10-Core, but gonna wait until your results to see if it's worth the cash. Only big disappointment without actually using this new computer is the minuscule number of Thunderbolt-3 ports. What the heck is that about?
2020 iMac 5700xt and i7 or i9 is still a beast today in 2023 and into 2024 (for a good price). Of couse Mac Studio would be better but again, that GPU is stil a beast!

I honestly don't understand why people are still using Macs for content creation in 2020, it's great for everyday use for non power users but super terrible for power users and cost a ton more.

These comparisons are fun to watch but seriously guys, comparing a laptop to a desktop makes no sense whatsoever. You know it. We know it. Who goes out to buy a computer and changes their mind between a laptop and desktop based on a few benchmarks!? The concept of the video is frankly ridiculous...
Yet a lot of people ask for this comparison year after year. I think many people would like to be portable but want to know how much performance they are loosing out on. Thankfully with the latest MacBooks it’s not much but you also pay for it.
I would love to see that comparison iMac 2020 (fully spec’s out) from this video vs to newest MacBook Pro M1 max full spec’s out. I’m thinking about upgrading and I don’t know if its worth the money

DO A FORCED AIR COOLED MACBOOK PRO BEFORE AND AFTER. Ive noticed mine hovers the same temps with Mac fan control. Would we gain anything if we jacked on a mini cooling unit

My seven-year-old Mac mini needs a replacement over my 2018 MacBook Pro, so I’m going with the iMac. I’ll wait for Apple silicon in the MacBook Pro to escape the living hell of the butterfly keyboard.
Best tech channel
I'll be damned if I buy this macs before the silicon processors are offered. I am still good to go with my 2014 mbp. I have to stick to 1080 videos though. 4k is too demanding.
At 9:14 did you say "iMac Pro"?
test the base of iMac. with core i5 with Radeon 5300M and 16gb ram. Please)
What about timeline performance in fps for RAW and color graded
where you get that apple wallpaper tho wide eye😳
The difference between fixing your voice with Logic Pro and being natural as Linus Tech Tips.
i love that you test more and more things but i think you shouldn’t include things that take 9 secs to finish
Yes, that's just the standard BruceX benchmark we've been using for years.
Please make the canon eos r5 editing test
I honestly don't understand why people are still using Macs for content creation in 2020, it's great for everyday use for non power users but super terrible for power users and cost a ton more.
They work great for us! I think many people use them for exclusive apps like logic, Xcode, or FCX
Yea a 5600 vs a 2080ti, and somehow they get excited for there 200 dollar video card, combined with terrible thermals apple is shit
Can someone tell me where to get the wallpaper at 0:16 please on the iMAC please

Vs a 1500 dollar laptop that blows the MacBook away
please review asus rog strix ga15
Shy im watching this even of i cant afford it XD
Hello
First
These comparisons are fun to watch but seriously guys, comparing a laptop to a desktop makes no sense whatsoever.
Agreed my desktop, i7 9700k with 2080 super all water cooled is better than my x1 carbon, I like the carbon but for real work I hop on the desktop.

You are such an Best content creator ever man keep growing higher champ
I would love to see that comparison iMac 2020 (fully spec’s out) from this video vs to newest MacBook Pro M1 max full spec’s out. I’m thinking about upgrading and I don’t know if its worth the money

I just ordered 128 gigs of the RAM from you link provided.
Clear, comprehensive, and technically sophisticated. Thanks for a _really helpful_ walk-through! If I weren't already a customer of your sponsor, I would become one ;-).
I purchased the top model with the I9 processor and 1 terabyte SSD, I want to buy 128 gigs of RAM from Amazon. Does it matter what brand of RAM I use?
What if MacBook Pro 4100 $ vs 14000 $
If I'm just editing 4k footage on a 1080p timeline then if I want to save money and plan on keeping this iMac for a very long time, is it better to spend money for the 10 core i9 or the 16gb video card?
The only problem is the gpu never match the cpu
Why no Imac Pro videos?
Now how does the 2020 iPad Pro stack up against these two
DO A FORCED AIR COOLED MACBOOK PRO BEFORE AND AFTER. Ive noticed mine hovers the same temps with Mac fan control. Would we gain anything if we jacked on a mini cooling unit
