As an older rider with back and knee problems, I find it handy to carry a small folding camp stool in my kit. Amazon will have lots of styles (a tri-fold is compact) to pick from. Happy motoring Miz Doodle!
Carolyn,
You have really found your space on Utube. I am a fan of all the moto bloggers but you offer a true entertaining experience like no other. I’ve been watching since your first exposure with Jerry Paladino and I am hooked on your enthusiasm and willingness to put yourself out there. I look forward to every post. Keep up your great work!
I'm european so this is fascinating and legitimately in our list of places to stop by when we do our roadtrip.
Not to burst your bubble but please visit real sites with some sort of meaning before you waste time at a gas station
@@davehahn5639 hahaha, I get what you mean. No worries, it's just a place we want to stop for gas and a break, not the main reason why we are going to Texas.
"I'm European so this is fascinating"....
Logic.
@@pookiewookie7679 you don't feel fascination towards things you don't usually see around you?
@@goduxunikeyes, but it's not fascinating because we are European. Most Americans, Asians, Africans also haven't seen such big petrol stations. It's fascinating because it's so much bigger than usual. Have you seen the big petrol stations in Luxembourg?
Oh my gosh. It's Buc(k)-ee's. The Beaver Nuggets are a must!!!
Best line- GPS says turn right, 800 Ft
What do I look like a yard stick? 😂😂
Instant classic line!!
For real though 😂
I80 in Iowa has the world's largest truck stop and it has a hotel there. It also has a bunch of other stuff nearby as well. If I remember right, it had a movie theater.
The Buc ee's in Fort Worth has two rows of fuel islands along two sides of the store, HUGE!
Fellow, DFW rider here, never have to wait on fuel at that one. Got a new one going up in Hillsboro Texas now.
This is a massive station. We were there last year on our 6 months road trip, we bought $250 just only for beef jerky is one of the South’s most popular road trip foods.
My wife and I stopped at Buc-ee's when we were cruising through South Carolina. It was a great experience and they had some pretty good food as well.
thanks for another fun video. continue to have fun and ride safe. your videos provide such great entertainment for me. I am a Lutheran pastor and should be working on writing my sermon for this coming Sunday. Instead I am drinking my coffee watching this video.
More like "Doodle survives 24 hours at a BUC-EE's" lol Really fun to watch, glad you made it out unscathed haha
You know Doodle you should get yourself a folding camping chair, I carry one with me all the time when I'm on a road trip... another great video adventure thanks for taking us along with you.
6:22 lol, riding at night winds up being a must have at some point, some of the best riding when others aren't on the roads.
You're the company we all need to stop by and say high love you Doodles 😊 your the coolest
Hello Carolyn You never cease to amaze me in your videos no matter what the topic is. You are so informative. Keep up the great work. Always interesting. Safe travels.
I have a challenge for you my young friend! Ride around Texas so you can then ask why everything is bigger in Texas! Start in Texarkana (Don't spend the night) take 82 then 287 through Amarillo (Eat at the Big Texan) (Palo Duro Canyon State Park is cool if you want to camp). Motor on up to Dalhart then turn south to El Paso. From there head to Corpus Christi then east through Beaumont and home! This will take a few days and will be quite the adventure taking you through hill country then desert then to the Gulf Coast. Skip Houston and go through Galveston (Hit the beach at Freeport) and take the Ferry across! September/October would be a good time. Happy Trails!
My Minnesota relatives were telling me about one they experienced in Alabama. They had a great time and came away with souvenirs. It does seem odd that they sell food, but don't have a seating area to consume it in! I also was surprised they prohibit trucks! I guess they have their own truck stops... Thanks for braving the zoo to give us an inside look!
In 2020 I made a gas stop at a Bucees in Terrell, TX. Part of a series of rides I took on a maxi scooter to see the Southern States. Unfortunately I was traveling with peasant means so aside from getting gas, all I could do was take a brief look around inside the store. The cashiers were uncommonly pleasant.
I work at the Terrell one!🤙✌️
We love Bucees! We have one down the street. Try their cola icee next time. My favorite!
That place is a management nightmare! Its presented by Buc-ees as a 10/10 takeaways experience. Well thanks for showing us around Doodle. I certainly are pleased that you have such a personality and that I was able to subscribe to your motorcycle channel! I'm often questioning if I want to watch the video at the start but the wholesome viewpoint has always made the journey interesting. Ever since ,3000 U turns on a motorcycle? I only watched that first one for me since I couldn't comprehend the level of commitment , and I wasn't shortchanged then either.
Hope you enjoyed the hill country on the way in. Sorry it takes 16 hrs on the road to enter and leave Texas.
I am so dang GLAD you posted this video.....I have made up my mind to AVOID the place if at all possible. Gas stations with no lines. Check. No traffic cops. Check. I might pay a little more to the little guy but don't we all root for the underdog????
I'd never heard of Buc-ees before, but I'm in California, so the nearest one is over a 1000 miles away. When I saw the title I thought you were at the Iowa 80 truck stop.
In the right lighting, that statue would be terrifying 🤣
Doodle, you had me at Buc-ee's! Also Mous makes a fair mount too - a little lesser known than QuadLock tho.
Great vidios, always enjoy,be safe, enjoy the ride because the weather is very scary these days...
Stopped at Buc-ees north of Atlanta on my motorcycle trip to Indiana …first experience ever. I was impressed. Glad I captured it on video 🤪😬. Great seeing your experience. Only thing is I did not eat anything (I fast on my trips). Another great video.
You weren’t kidding, Doodle. No seating anywhere. I visited there last May.😊
When we go to Buckys, we use the pallets of deer corn as picnic tables and places to sit outside and do our on location picnic
We decided to give Buc-ees a try on our 9000 mile Corvette Road Trip. Had the food. Used the restrooms.. Got back on the road..... We had a goal to sit and eat, but as you discovered, no joy...Great job Great job on this video-your work just keeps getting better!
Awesome ! I never knew such a place existed. Thanks for the video.
I also recommend quadlock and their vibration dampener. I broke the auto focus on my iPhone using a RAM Mount. I paid $85 to have the camera replaced, but the quadlock wasn’t much more so I should have bought it from the beginning.
You have the right bike.
Now get the right shoes for the bike.
Look at the Dunlop Trainmax Mission. Not so great in deep sand or deep mud, but long lasting.
I have 12,000 miles (half highway, half dirt) on them and my rear is down 50%. If you feel you need a bit more traction on off pavement.
Great in the rain on pavement.
Bit noisy.
A motel room facing Buc-ee's 🤣 Doodle you are all in all the time 🏍 ✌🙌
I see how you are, at my Buc ee's and didn't even say hi. 😁
You're why we love RUclips. Amazing content, as always.
This is so cool, I doubt there is anything like it here in the UK.
I love my Quad Lock system. Have had it on my bike for 3 years so far with no issues.
I also got the vibration dampener for mine because of people's iPhone issues with the cameras.
Just ordered the wireless charging so that I can cover the charging port while riding to eliminate the rain water from getting inside on my long journeys from Buffalo, NY down to TN, GA and soon FL (hopefully this year for Forgotten Angels campout in October)
i use quad lock in car and on bicycle. Good stuff (had couple non-branded phone holders, both of them broke while cycling. Quad lock seems to be sturdy). But they should really introduce a magnet to make attaching much easier. Because it's a fiddle. Like 1/3 times you get lucky and hit it right, but 2/3 times, when you don't hit, you keep fiddling a few seconds until it finally hits the hole right. On some rare occasion I literally bend and watch phone and mount to match it.
Meanwhile they made a new holder with magnet, but it's only for light use like in cars... All they need to do is use magnet for self-align, but keep the original mount strength.
Your total would be $300 sir.
OMG Doodle I love this place!!! It has everything and then some plus gas! This was a good video. Thanks!
I frequent the second location you visited in Luling. It’s been a mad house lately with the construction going on. Food is ok, but I mainly stop for the clean restrooms. Great video!
Buccees is aways popping. Definitely a stop we do as a family every time we pass by one.
Your videos are so fun to watch doodle.
All of the Bucky's in Nebraska is/was owned by a friend of mines family. They were named after my friend Steve's grandfather. Steve and I are both in our 60's. The company was sold to Casey's about maybe 5 years ago and it wasn't a popular decision among their customers.
I’ve watched almost all of your videos and this is BY FAR my MOST FAVORITE VIDEO!!! I love Buceees! Great video! Great editing! Great sound effects and music! The BEST DOODLE VIDEO EVER 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
Hahaha welcome to the Buc-ee’s family! A great Texas institution 😊 some would call it a cult… with homemade fudge
Okay, this video is adorable!! Also, we are super jealous of your Buc-ee's hat 🫣
I have been to Buc-ee's, when I was on my way back from Madison, AL. It was...intense. Certainly a lot of energy, and a lot of commotion. Cool...but I still prefer Shell (especially ones in the South, with full kitchens). Even so, thank you for featuring a local wonder 🙂
Wait a hold it, that's my Buc ee's!
What a fun place!! I love that you can try new foods here. I love your sense of adventure! 😊❤️🎊💪🔥👍
Their Breakfast burritos are good. Get the red salsa for it too. The green sauce used to be really good but they changed it up a couple years ago.
Thanks! I always enjoy your videos. Sorry you had to eat anything with meat in it at Buc cee’s.
Thank you!! :D :D
Live in Texas and still love Buc-ee's, you should see them on a holiday weekend, even busier
Did Dan the Fireman give you the Quad Lock? 😂
My wife and I were guided to a Buc-ee’s near Houston by my sister who lives in he area. What is not to like . . . 37 types of Jerkey? Amazing variety of all sorts of stuff. It is pronounced like “Buckey’s” ie note the buck teeth on the beaver. And totally agree on the quadloc on my ST1300. Best I have ever used.
There's a Bucee's near me, but I haven't checked it out yet. People rave about it, but I'm not really interested. 🤣
On a recent ride we stopped at the Bucc-ee’s in Leeds,Al. Just down the street from Barber’s Motorsports park/museum. I tried a ham egg and cheese breakfast croissant…. It was great 👍 You really got to watch out for all the traffic in and around the fuel pumps and parking area though on a bike.
When you have a place like Buc-ee's you need to have employee loyalty to carry the image of the store and they do pay better than most and benefits are good. The owners know what it takes to make it big
I hope you tried the brisket. It’s awesome.
I should have waited to comment. 😂
Girl you are amazing. I’m pretty short myself and that kept me from getting in a motorcycle. But after watching a few of your videos it encourage me to just do it. Keep up the girl work !
Aww, you’re so cute with your little hat and your frowny face when you couldn’t sit in the chairs.
Seriously, this place would give me anxiety. Way to crowded. Safe travels doodles. 🌲
I routinely ride down to the Smokey mountains several times a year. Always pass the one at exit 82 (?) In Tennessee and wondered what all the hype was about. Last trip I was headed back up north, I stopped in around 7:30am for a cup of coffee and just to have a look around. Wasn't crowded at all. Looked around a little, Drank my coffee, left still not understanding the hype...
😀 I'm sure the security team were wondering what you were doing. Just came past there two weekends ago......decided not to stop.....I know that place will take more of my money than just for gas! 😀 Another great (and funny) video.
it was great to see you on HSLS, good exposure for your channel and wish you great success with your venture. it was funny, when you asked where in the universe would i want to ride, i immediately thought that i want to ride the bottom of the ocean to see all the creatures down there.
4:43 a hotdog wrapped in a tortija? hmm, gotta try that one.
Doodle really enjoy when you do your stops! Keep them coming.....
Doodle,
Welcome to Texas. Wish I could have seen you when you came and rode a little with you.
P.S. Buccees is awesome!!!
Just found you randomly ... i went there on a trip as well ... its was cool ... 😎
You inspire smiles 😃
Been discussing with my brother since last Christmas creating the Bucky’s Bike Tour Texas and the the Bucky’s Bike Tour America to catch those locations outside of Texas.
Love the Chronicles of Narnia reference of the Beavers.
Get a Helinox Chair Zero. Extremely compact with a back rest and weighs only 1 pound. A backpacker favorite.
My local Buc-ee's in New Braunfels, TX, was the largest until the one in TN opened a month or so ago.
Dang Doodle.....that was awesome. Have heard of that place, never been there.
I was in Sevierville TN about a week and a half ago and went to the biggest Buc-ees completed at the time of this video. Its too Chaotic for me but the revenue is there for them to make money. Could barely get through the doors
I actually eat at Buc cees about twice a week. They have delicious food: not for a gas station. Delicious food period!!!
There's one ten minutes from work. And I get the mania. Forgot to mention; I will literally route my trip so I can go stop at buc cees. Because I know the rest room will be clean.
The fuel price will also be the cheapest or one of the cheapest in the area as well.
Hello Doodle, I like your new beaver hat. The best cowboy hats are made from beaver fur felt. " Hey! "
It's awesome you was near my city of San Antonio, that buc-ee's is small but not for long, safe travels ✌🏾
😊 hi ever thought about getting a protective case cover for your phone and protective screen for it? Your the coolest. Love you doodles
Hello, Thanks for the video. I enjoyed it. I can't believe that you spent all day at a place that had zero tables and chairs! You're a trooper for sure. 😀
I enjoy your adventures!! Noticed a air cushion on your seat. Do you like it or does it help? Also as another commenter posted, I second the small backpack chairs, with the amount of gear you already have they collapse very small and are very comfortable.
Went to Bucees for the first time in Lexington going from TN back home to upstate NY. It was ludicrous, I bought that same hat, it is op in the heat. The brisket is so much better than it should be.
Thanks for the info about the cameraphone mount. That's something we can actually use. the internet's filled with tons of "buy this" but not enough "I did, and here's what went wrong." You may have saved me from buying the wrong mount and damaging my phone. Thanks.
I love your buc-ees hat ! Your beauty is enhanced every time you do a video. A gas station wonderland ! You are making me hungry, They really have fabulous food and employee's. I love the triumph. Ride safe girl !
I think that is the exact same Buc-cees my friend Brian took me to on my last motorcycle road trip last year. Lol
Little math here: If you want to replace all the fuel pump capacity (120) with e-Chargers: Average pump time 3 minutes plus 2 minutes to pay per credit, average e charge time 90 minutes makes 90/5=18, you gonna need 2160 E-chargers plus the space! And a nuclear power station nearby.
I love my Quadlock! It charges your phone as soon as you lock it in. Next,I’m gettin the Breakfree light🤗
Love there brisket tacos!
Very cool adventure! Lots of choices for food that's for sure! Fun hat! Enjoy following you Doodle!
Wish we had a bucc-ees here. Nice video.
I agree - not into the Buc-EE’s scene . Only stopped for gas and bathroom, but took an hour to pry my friends out of there. The north Georgia location.
Time for a detox after all that, Doodle!
I wonder who has a plan for a place with 120+ charging stations in the future.
Stopped at my first Buc-ees last week. It was horribly awesome. Or maybe awesomely horrible. Not sure. Great video!
Just went to my local Buc-ees and it too has 120 pumps by actual count. I think the size difference between this one and mine might be the store itself? I've seen several with the same number of pumps. Never the less "Welcome to Buc-ees!!"
Y'know, it's extraordinary to follow a passion when you realize that most people don't even have a passion. Finding something you like and giving it your all is the best way to spend your life. Most people squander their existence catering to other people's expectations and just following a cookbook because they don't have to think. So, you're lucky (smart?) to recognize a passion and to yield to it. I left the rat race 20 years ago, got rid of all the burdensome material possessions and chose freedom instead. A dog and a motorcycle is all I need. Out here on the West coast, it's sunny and 70 every day. A rider's paradise.
I don't know if you make me hungry when I see you eating all kinds of food or make my stomach go "ugggg I wish", haha haha
You should go to the world largest truck stop next. Iowa 80 walcott
Sevierville Tn has the largest buc-ees as of now. Till the one in TX opens. They just add more pumps to claim the biggest. The stores are still the same size. Just more of a headache to go there. I like the ones on I75 in Georgia better.
Wow ... I'm from and still live in the UK, and while we share the same language and a lot of cultural touchpoints, that place looks alien to me!
I went to Buc - ee"s in Daytona Beach, Fl. area / It was so crowded it was amazing! Had the Brisket and it was great, sat in my Car, as of no picnic tables...A great fuel station and huge store. (enjoy your riding, Doodle) :)
I like your background music. Good job.
My Wife & My Otter Boxes Blew Up. I Ordered us Quad lock cases today
You're in Luling??? It would be so cool to meet you. Wish I had known.. I'm assuming that you're headed west. I'm in Katy off of I-10 but east of Luling. The Buc-Ee's in Katy has (or had) the world's longest car wash. I think they built a bigger one but I'm not sure.
Anyway, wishing you safe travels.😊
