When it's all said and done. The #1 thing I loathe about Florida is the humidity #2 low wages. And now it is getting over crowed and rents has skyrocketed compared to 1992 $572.00 for a 3 bedroom then- same location in Orlando $1800.00 to $ 2000.00 but the wages stagnant since 1992! affordable housing disappeared... it's sad.
What I love about Florida as a grown up :) cruise ports 1 hour away to get away on the weekends or longer and driving down to key West Thanksgiving or after that holiday trips and also 7am to 12 noon beach relaxation day on Sunday mornings before the crowd shows up and drivers jam the beach parking spaces. But the humidity is brutal- 3 months of nice weather starting October Halloween to Dec 31st (really October and November are the best weather months)
Also HOA developments has got to go. Communities can decide who to hire or fire to cut their lawn and hire outside security themselves.. no need for HOA to tell you- on a home you purchased- you can't paint your mailbox or keep Christmas lights up all year on your property if you desire. And of course neighbors don't like seeing a pile up of trash or people parking in the wrong space.. if your respectful you can talk to your neighbors they will move their vehicle. If not call the police- and gamble going down that path with a 'Lord have mercy on me neighbor' 😅- we all know the neighbors that is allergic to every animals- the worst humans on earth😅 if your respectful- you always clean up after your pets/dogs. Don't need HOA tagging peoples cars are trying to ban your furry friend/ of course Pitbulls or no dogs should be loose roaming freely. Cats are not going to chew your leg off or attack you.. while jogging or riding your bicycle. Seriously
Reason I commented is because I like middle Pennsylvania and thought about leaving Florida due to humidity migraines long month seasons. But not sure about taxes and why people are moving from PA to FL

Thank you for your feedback! I can’t speak for everyone but I think the biggest factor for most people moving from PA to FL is the weather. It’s cold, overcast and dreary for a large part of the year. The Fall months are beautiful but winters can be brutal, not to mention if it snows and you need to shovel your walks and scrape frost from your car windows.. if you are more of a cold weather person, I think you may really enjoy making the move! :)

Thats interesting. As a little kid, kindergarten-->6th grade, I grew up in south FL, longest spot was Homestead. I hated it. Allergies, didn't take the heat&humidity well, everything just flat. 7th grade was Guam, similar weather but at least mountains/hills and varied vegetation. 🤣 Back to Sarasota for half of 8th grade, then finally moved to Baltimore County for a few years and ultimately Delaware. I'm still in DE, south of Wilmington, but as part of my career I commuted up to KOP/Valley Forge for like 17 yrs, 51 miles one way, up 95, The Blue Route, the Sure Kill, lol, hated the roads and traffic up there ... And sales tax! lol. Retired now, my brother moved to The Villages back in 2019 and tries to get me down there, but the politics of FL are really horrible to me, and, now that I'm almost 60, I am less tolerant of the heat...Lots of people like it though. We don't have terrible winters usually. so its not so bad. Congrats on your decision and joy...

Thanks for your feedback. I wasn’t made for the cold 😆 I battled my husband on the move for many years but I always complained about the cold weather hurting my face 🤣 needless to say, I love it. And yes there are many factors to consider that certainly don’t appeal to everyone. Thanks for watching!

@@LivingInCentralFL407 Oh, I understand about the cold bothering you, my sister-in-law is the same, when they still lived up in MD, she would have trouble with cold every winter. I have issues with the heat. So I'm doomed as climate change issues will make it exceedingly warmer here too. lol,.

@@LivingInCentralFL407 Funny story, the last week of July 2005 I was down in Altamonte Springs for a training class for work. I stayed at one of those 'self serve' hotels, looked nice but every day when I got back to the hotel, opening the room door was like opening an oven door @ 400 degrees! Yet the AC in the room was blasting on high and very cold air! It turns out there was a motion detector in the room. No motion in there, no A/C! I was a sopping wet sponge of misery that whole week! 🤣 That was the last time I was in FL.
