Thank you, Dr. Gaile. Finally, i fully understood the effects and severity of having shingles. Is the vaccination costly?
Thank for the video! although i have to say, you should have at least discussed more about the treatment options as this is crucial. I know several people who had this and it was really bad and painful. The chance and opportunity to expound more of it was not really explored on the video, sadly.
Questions...
1. What kind of vaccine is given to prevent this? is it available here in our county? what is the range of price? Where can we get it?
2. If a person has PHN, what is the treatment of choice?
3. Are anti viral medications helpful when a patient starts to have symptoms for this? will it make a difference?

Thank you for taking time to watch the video. I understand where you’re coming from but the point of this video is to make people aware about the condition because there are many misconceptions and myths surrounding it- I didnt discuss specific treatments because each case differs and I do not want to encourage self-diagnosis and self-medication.
As for PHN, thank you for that suggestion, I might consider making a separate video about that, though maybe in collaboration with a neurologist.
Antiviral medications are best given within 72 hours after the skin lesions appear.
@@irenegaileHerpes is in the Shingles vaccine, £×£¢utions are LONG overdue.
