  • "I just think that safe spaces are essentially kind of promoting segregation, and I think it's backwards."
Laurence Fox tells LBC why he decided to boycott a supermarket chain over Black History Month.
Speaking to LBC's Nick Ferrari actor and leader of the Reclaim Party Laurence Fox said he thought people were scared to speak because of fears over a PC culture.
He said British values were "the things you learn around the dinner table when you're a child," actor cited "robust argument, the ability to disagree and remain friends, politeness, fairness, these sorts of things."
When Nick asked "where have they gone then?" Mr Fox said he felt "people are scared to speak at the moment for fear of the repercussions that will happen if they say the wrong thing."
He told LBC people were afraid of being "cancelled."
When asked to point to examples of that Mr Fox said he was an example, "that lovely welder in Burnley, there are hundreds."
When asked which welder he was referring to Mr Fox said: "He was the one who did the white lives matter banner over the stadium."
This led to Nick asking the actor why he has " a problem with Sainsbury's marking Black History Month."
"I don't at all," was the instant reply but he said it "would be interesting if there was also Jewish history month and Muslim history month."
He said his "issue" with the supermarket was "that they were saying they were creating safe spaces for their black employees."
He said this "doesn't take too much mental gymnastics to think that might be sort of promoting segregation in a way."
"Seeing as this country is tolerant and becoming more tolerant, I don't know why it assumes that you may not be safe around white people."
When Nick Ferrari challenged him pointing out "neither of us are black, we don't know what it's like," Mr Fox said " all we can go in is the polling on these things."
Nick asked if those people feel like they need a safe space then "is it wrong for a supermarket to facilitate that?"
"I just think that safe spaces are essentially kind of promoting segregation, and I think it's backwards and we want to look forwards."

The stats actually show that white and hispanic people are more likely to be killed unarmed. It's just a false narrative to create racial division. They also wish to create division on gender too. It was on their website for months till they realised it was giving them bad press and they removed it. There is no White priveledge, there is no institutionalised racism. It's all a lie. If BLM cared about black lives they would mention the 7000 black on black murders in the USA but they don't because they only want to talk about the single digit incidents where a white cop kills a black man. Whether they realise it or not the English exude an arrogance, a sense of superiority and entitlement that you just don't see in the celtic nations.

I never understood that term. Revisions aren't a scary or evil thing. To the contary, revisions are a vital part of editing, and in the context of looking at history, they are just as crucial. We all know the saying "history is written by the victors," and that's why it's so important to go back and look at the facts without the rose-tinted spectacles of victory and revise the written histories to reflect the objective truth of past events. The only people who are scared of that process are those who fear they stand to lose something to it- chiefly pride, whether that be personal or nationalistic, but we can't all keep our heads in the sand just to protect the egos of a few people who don't want to admit that their ancestors might have done terrible things.

We have a history like every other country in this world, why on earth should we be again be threatened too obliviate our history to accommodate BLM who should get over themselves. They definitely have got a chip on their shoulder, our history is what we are, every country has a history, it doesn't matter what colour you are you, you come to this country then you live by our rules, if these people want to cause hatred and stir up strife then let's round them up and see if they would like it living in other countries, then they can see what hardship is. Mr fox you've got to start by running as an MP and get Nigel Farage on board, because we have to have a government that wants to bring Britain back to where we don't have so much violence, drugs, illegal immigrants! and talking illegal immigrants why are they here and what are they for we are overpopulated as it is, so why is the government allowing these people to come in. Mr Fox please ask the question to the government why are these illegal immigrants over here and been allowed to stay, what is there uses why are they here. They are not required. The obsolete industrial buildings that have been left to go to rack and ruin rebuilding them, let's get back our industry in this country, where men and women can look to the future so that our industry and this country can thrive.
