- A trio of US Army MH-47G Chinooks of the 160th SOAR (Special Operations Aviation Regiment) made a stopover at Tri-Cities Airport (KTRI) for a break. I got to the airport in time to see the start-up and departure of the helicopters. 05Oct18
These are MH-47s from the 160th SOAR (Special Operations Aviation Regiment) from Ft. Campbell, Kentucky.
They most certainly are MH-47G’s
NSDQ
My shop used to go to them for engine parts if we could not find them anywhere else
They are from Fort Lewis.
yea, the crews are fired...perfect chance to do a coordinated start with all 3 birds, and they missed it lol
A truly great helicopter......I have had over 50 great "half-trips" in, then out of a Chinook at the end of a parachute......and many other full trips..........what a great way to go....airborne....! A salute to all their aircrew and ground crews...!
Triple MH-47G Dark Horses, real nice 👍
Fat tanks and fuel probes. Those badass ladies are heavy.
Love the Chinhooks. Great video.👍👍
Huey/OH-13 Crew Chief. Hueys will always be my favorite, but these 47's are the most incredible, fascinating machines ever built. Even by todays standards, their performance and capabilities are astounding.
Last bird I flew on in Korea was a huey
You know it Brother. Some Awsome aircraft in deed.! 👍
Fat Tanks, Fuel Probe & square rear windows = MH-47G Dark Horse!
BRINGS BACK SOME COOL MEMORIES.
Those are indeed Boeing MH-47G Chinooks of the United States Army 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment ( Airborne ) "Nightstalkers"
I used to have to put up with that for 26 months when stationed in Germany. Also M-1 Abrams & Bradley's rolling by outside my barracks since I was close to the railhead. I didn't much sleep those 2 years.
Put up with? That's music to soothe the savage beast!
160th SOAR 2nd Battalion Delta Co 1998-2000. NSDQ
My dad was in that unit

Wrong 3rd BN HAAF Savanna Ga. CW3 47 driver.
From Vietnam to the present day thank you for carrying our boys great engineering when the shit hits the fan you want one of these boys to come in into a hot LC to take you out god bless the engineers that sort of this support from the UK
Brings back memories of the early 70's
2 ways to see these babies fly on a regular basis. Join the Army or work at Boeing , Ridley Park, Pa. I did the 2nd. Flight line instrumentation mechanic, 44 years on Chinooks. Fastest chopper in the fleet.
Chinooks top speed, 196 mph. Fully loaded, on board are fuel and weapons for Apaches. Apaches beg Chinooks slow down, even with just fuel, we can't keep up. And that's a fact Jack
Awesome
Glad you enjoyed the video. Cheers!
Love Chinooks!
Liked ur video... i live here ib Townsville Australia and we have the army base and air force base here and we get the chinooks come flying low over head and the hornets as well..
I see these helos fly everyday at Fort Eustis va. Transportation group
I think most Army folks do their AIT there, I know I did back in '84.
1:38 is the sound we know and love.
MH-47G Block II's are currently being built in the same place these three beauties originated from.
Beautiful, but not CH-47s, but MH-47
Yes
That's something we don't get to see every day. The last time I had the chance was in 1977 on Camp Humphreys, South Korea.
Were you in the 45th Trans? I got there in July 1978. What we took for granted must be a cool thing now.
We had 8 fly over in formation just west of Denver about a week ago. Pretty low and really LOUD!
These aren’t CH-47’s. They’re MH-47G‘s, used specifically for Special Operations missions
Hello Matthew. Thanks for the information clarification. Cheers!
LZ Washington in Baghdad. Saw many Ch-47s there. Didn't get to ride one but did ride an MI-17 a few times.
They use those fuel probe to stab the enemy TIP OF THE SPEAR style
TIP OF THE SPEAR RIDES THE DARK HORSE!
They’re clearly for docking on alien spaceships 🙄
@@tonyowen9638
No... they are clearly for impregnating alien spaceships with a virus, that will lower their shields.
move them chocks, raise the ramp, it's time to pull pitch, sir... miss the sound of the apu crankin', the wobble as the blades begin to turn and the smell of JP8, and yes those are Task Force birds.
Amen! NSDQ!
Huah, NSDQ!
Camera does not pick up the true chest pounding thump of the rotors! Great video!
You had to be there in person to experience that chest pounding thump. ; ) Cheers!
I seen one yesterday flying where I live close to the Fort Bragg, Airborne army base
Warning!! Don't listen to this with head phones on.
Lmao
David i must apologize i thought this was CGI at 1st . Great vid.
Lol, same here - thought it was a screen-scrape from FSX. Looks too perfect.
Badass.
Lovely Stuff
Fyi those are MHs....
This is probably the most mass produced heavy lifting helicopter made. It Is utility at its apex. There is nothing without utility purpose inside it. I would have to say it is probably the most purpose built helicopter on the planet. I find vehicles that are purpose built beautiful. Old MBs, GPWs, HMMWs, a deuce and a half, unimogs, would be a perfect vehicle for me. I want a utility vehicle with no fluff at all for a daily driver. Heat, a seat cushions, are the only, "non utilitarian," options I would want. All the power stuff, "intelligent," gizmos, and creature comforts in modern vehicles assures me I will never buy one.
Cool

चिनूक के ब्लेड टकराते क्यों नही है आपस में,,,, जबकि वो ओवरलैप कर रहे है
Where were they heading, Were they from FT.Campbell Ky?
Not sure where they came from or where they were headed. They passed by Bristol Motor Speedway from the East heading West on their way to the airport. When they departed the airport they continued heading West.
@@AEROWEPHILE Hi, most likely headed to Lewis McChord. 4th/160th Regiment is there.
Fort Lewis or Yakima fire range
I think they are from Florida maybe specail operartion Herbert field
No, those are not Air Force, they are from Ft Campbell
These are 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment birds from the U.S. Army. The 160th SOAR is know as the Nightstalkers. Their motto is NightStalkers Don't Quit. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/160th_Special_Operations_Aviation_Regiment_%28Airborne%29?wprov=sfla1

#160SOARCulture
That not CH-47
Hello MaeriMDaezr, Would you care to elaborate on why this is not a CH-47? Cheers!
Why do people keep calling these Shitnooks? Is this just a stupid play on words, or do people really think they are a shitty helicopter?
And hundreds of thousands in our country right now want to see all this end...in a bad way.
Cool,I want to fly a girly Mh-47G chinook helicopter that has baby chinook helicopters so I can take the baby chinook helicopters to helicopter school 🏫 And Savannah(witch is a girly Mh-47G chinook)can have a break from her 7 yr old helicopter kids and go out with her helicopter friends so they can have a helicopter girls day out,and after Savannah’s helicopter kids are picked up from helicopter school and dropped off at their fancy shmacy helicopter mansion, her baby chinook helicopters eat their helicopter lunch 🥙 and get ready for their helicopter nap time, while Savannah gets ready to go out with her helicopter boyfriend named (Jeffery chinook helicopter Watson)on a helicopter date at a fancy helicopter restaurant. And after that, the baby chinook helicopters and Savannah gets ready for helicopter play time, dinner, dessert, bath, story, and bed time.
