    Man, first thing i see waking up and you make me cry my eyes out lmao. I think ive never really understood that "live every moment of it" phrase until now, i think thats in part because my biggest goals are ones that can benefit others, or at least i thought, because what i really want is to make people admire my work as an architecht or a politician for example, but fuck that man, to live life like you is to live truly for yourself, and its not that others are not important in one's life but im undermined into a state of frustation where goals and people like that will end up killing me.
    I really aprecciate your response, you are a wise man and a true man of action and i hope i can have the will that you have one day to live in the woods, as for now, i will keep thinking of it as the third way that it is and probably even doing it when things hit their lowest point, i just want to say thank you so fucking much for opening this to me, you practically saved me and i can just say thanks man.

    I think this message is something many people feeling those feelings of depression and suicide. Providing a third option, something other than a suffering old life and a tragic death. This sort of lifestyle is probably one of the best alternatives. There is always a solution through escape.

    Bro, I'm from Russia and you helped me a lot with your videos. I already was aiming down the right way but you inspired me to do the first step. You helped me realize things I "knew" already. Now my mind are clean from all this surrogate goals, meanings, rules and responsibilities. I truly know who I am and what I want from life.

    Best anti sucide video I've ever seen. Thank you man, you've given me a new perspective on life. Learning to trap, hunt, fish and make things for myself out of nature and just sit and be quiet had helped me immensely. You are directly helping people man. I will forever be grateful.

    as someone who struggles a lot with depression\alcohol I thought you really articulated well the insidious mindset and how to be aware of it. I think your point about cities and "society" is bang on too, it's way too easy to get twisted up inside your own head and embody what's being projected onto you instead of retaining that sense of personal agency. I'd like to hear your story mate, you speak some pretty immutable truths.

    Now that Javier has seen this, maybe consider adding into the title about this being a message for people considering suicide or are depressed. Consider that so more people will click in. You said a couple of really amazing things here that are very illuminating to me and almost nothing illuminates me much on this topic - things I will write down on paper to remember to think about. I came here after seeing your comment on the baby bat video. I knew you were a special human being & here you have a channel. I don’t know why I chose this video to watch, but you said much more than I expected. This is very generous. You’re on the right track.

  • @InfernoMustang

    One thing that my therapist said to me that I think you expand on in this video very well is something that I think about whenever a thought of “this isn’t worth the trouble” enters my mind is this: “no one wants to die. True death is unknown to everyone still living. All of those shows and stories about what people experienced after dying are stories from the perspective of someone who went into a subconscious state where the lack of oxygen did not effect their brain function. Which is just another state where dreams are still possible. No one knows what true death is like. Thus they could not possibly know that it is something desirable. What people want is another kind of life.” I will continue to watch your videos over and over as a reminder of this concept that another kind of life is possible, and if ever I feel the urge to take myself out of this world should come I will think “not until I try living that other life that forest anon showed me was possible.” Thank you forest anon. You are an inspiration. I wish you success in everything you attempt.

    I didn’t grow up in a Church but as a fellow hardcore skater from 89-2000 like you my first board was the original issue now legendary Powell Peralta Bones Ripper, but now I have read the Bible from start to finish 5 times, it has answered all the questions I ever had and more including depression which is not of God for the Lord died for us sinners so that we may Live in Heaven for Eternity but depression is of the devil who wants you to commit death so that he may continue your torture in hell for eternity . I pray you read it as well I purchased my Bible from the dollar store it’s the King James Version

    I really appreciate your optimism. It’s very easy to get overwhelmed by how bad it all seems but this perspective is very welcomed and eye opening to what it can be and to what you make it. Thank you Forest Anon.
    On a side note, how many books a year do you read? I saw a comment on another one of your videos where you said something along the lines of “I’ve only gotten to read 39 books this year…”. What benefits would you say reading that much has on you? I’m only looking for another reason to continue to read.

    • @ForestAnon
      @ForestAnon Год назад +3

      Of course my friend I'm so glad that you and so many people have gotten something from it and have left such awesome comments. It means the world to me. Life really is such an awesome and mind blowing thing and I'm greatful to be living one.
      And that's a good question regarding books, I've got a lot to say about it. My average seems to be a little more than 60 books a year 📚 For me there are so many benefits and it all depends on whatever you're reading at the moment. But my favorite part about reading is the time spent afterward thinking about what you've read. You'll hit that one sentence or paragraph and get a "lightbulb" moment - you'll finish that one chapter or book and you'll put it down and soak in this sort of afterglow where you just let it marinate for a while - you go back to your notes and favorite parts, and you start seeing certain things and ideas jump out at you that you can apply to your own life, and new ways to describe certain feelings or thoughts you've always had that you were never able to place a finger on before. I'll even sit there alone arguing the ideas with myself. And this goes for both fiction and non-fiction, and books of any kind. I've even learned things from books I've disliked.
      Reading's been my favorite thing to do ever since I was a little kid reading those Dear America books I'd get from my elementary school book fair. I've noticed with reading that you can look at your whole life as a time-line of literature; for example I remember the month in 2020 when the wildfire chased me out of here and I think, "I remember I was reading East of Eden before it happened". And some books are special simply because when someone recommends me one I'll forever associate the memory of them with it.
      Much love and respect! 🌲
