Even being a newer drifter I’ve always preferred to go a bit slower and focus on angle and getting as close the the outside as possible. But someone is always ramming into my door or pushing me out of the way. Started to question my skills but you cleared that up right away!! 😁
People also like to drift at different speeds. I like a higher speed drift while still holding wide lines, but the guy who is faster behind you should always try to pass safely. Ramming is never the option
I just got back into playing CarX, have it on PC but since I moved 4-5 months ago my pc has been in storage. Got CarX on my brothers PS4 now and prior to moving it's been a year since I last played. Getting back into the game it blows my mind how so many still don't understand that Drifting isn't a race to the finish line. Had someone in a lobby get mad cause I wasn't going 90-100mph on Kami Road of all places so they started ramming people. Now all my lobbies are private and only friends are welcomed. I'll host a random public every now and then, but too many noobies ramming or getting upset people aren't drifting how *they* want them to drift.
I agree with all these except the styling. Just as you said “enjoy the journey, this goes for every game” everyone’s entitled to their own customization no matter how stupid it looks but I see your point of view and I personally agree with you. There’s a time and a room for those wack builds 😂
Out of a server of 16 i always find 1 or 2 that wanna be your drifting buddy for the whole time on that server, they wait for you, you wait for them, tandem practice, those are the best players to find!

I feel like a lot of people in assetto corsa go for the slidey setups when they first start. it's what I did at first since a lot of mod cars come with the street tires as default but I feel like you can drift a lot better with the more grippy competition tires on a lot of cars/tracks.
Manual shifting is very important for drifting I used to play with automatic transmission in forza 4 I just never could get the drift but soon as I started using manual I can drift anything with an engine and 4 wheels
- You can turn off tire smoke, which is extremely useful when trying to tandem as even without colored smoke, it becomes hard to see the track when behind - Multiplayer lobbies are by far the best way to earn money in this game. You get excellent practice and interaction with the community, and money/xp while doing it. I usually get around 400k per 3 hour drift session - Seems like a given, but RWD is the best drivetrain for noobs, as it makes it much easier to initiate and maintain a drift than it would be for a 4WD vehicle.
That’s if you play pc or console I play on phone and it’s like 1k for 5k but you only get that once points once u get to 15k then you get 1 fuel then nothing else

goosiest I agree with everything, but I who am a player with a lot of experience on carx can assure you that the grip setting must be put to the maximum, trust me, of course you must have all the rest of the setup done well, because if you only put the ultimate and the grip at 120% and that's it, in that case I agree with you ... the best car x players in the world use the grip to the maximum, on every car, none excluded, if you use it because you want to make the car slide more , I give you some advice, maximum grip and stiffness settings a: 60% front, 100% rear, and you will see that the car glides perfectly! greetings from Italy 🇮🇹 (pad player 🙃)

I’m gonna add to that: when you play a game and you can customise the body kits/ car body parts, don’t focus on getting those type of things ASAP, you should focus on making your car smooth and easy to drift. You’ll look even more impressive if you drift with skills and control over the car :) Beginners, take in this info carefully.

I would put an actual number 6 on this list and say use your brakes most new players i see forget they have brakes and almost always spin out or hit walls because of it they rely on the gas way to much
Grinding money is easy. Starting with a low-tier car, upgrading it to max and grinding in levels that is already finished(and it's another way to improve some drifting skills). Then if the higher level needs some required cars, use the money u have collected. It's that easy.

The styling guys are so annoying like ruining the whole Supra. In FR Legends I saw a AE86 Trueno in multiplayer it was so much styled that it ruined the classic look of 86. I always keep my cars natural and classis.
The thing that I hate about this game is having to endlessly grind to level up to unlock tracks. I don't wanna keep running the same track over and over again thousands of times just to unlock the next track.

My experience through all this 1. I swear to god, using grip car for drift is a pain in the ass. 2. I don't have time to do the styling and I was like "I ain't got time for this sh*t". 3. I didn't do it because like you said, it's shaved some of the experience more. 4. I play NFS ProStreet when the opponent do the drifting first then I do the drifting. 5. Auto transmission messes with you, you can't predict when will it shifts. 6. This one is so hard to not remember..
tried drifting on NFSC with manual makes more easier, trust me. If your game does not use OverRev or Blown Engine thingy, lower gears can limit your speed on drifting, i usually keep gears at 3th and it makes more easier, so i do not over speed when approaching an sharp Corner

YES!! Manual transmission is better because if you're drifting you don't want to spin out because of your high rpm that is not needed.
Not to forget in an automatic car it will shift up before it hits redline
fwd drift for beginners is really good with an automatic (at least in beamng drive)
