Ta152H revisit! It became my favorite German fighter since my last video on it.
Mainly the Ta152H's MER (Maneuvering Energy Retention) is really nice, but in addition to that it probably has the best flaps in game, both in terms of effectiveness and rip speed, allowing it to outturn most enemies. Airspawn allows it to start with the energy advantage, and makes up for its average climb.

My Mk. IX thinks different. I like to fly above 5-6 km. With that climb rate and that altitude performance of the amazing merlin 61 it become easy.
I found the new way to kill adam .
When you are low and he is in your 6 you dive to the ground , he kills you then his screen freezes then you hope for him to crash.

@@AdamTheEnginerd I also get this when someone does "Attention to the map!" or "Cover me!" or sometimes when I get too close to another plane (possibly camo loading in). I checked gpu usage during those freezes and it drops to zero. I get that the camo loads in over the network but the radio messages?

@@AdamTheEnginerd It's not only you who gets that plane stutter, I always get that stutter whenever I kill Wyverns. It's very bizarre since that's one of the only planes that always does it for me..

IMO my favorite prop and the best of it's BR hands down. Also the plane I have the most kills with it truly has come a long way with the FM changes it has had plus with MEC its a dream.
There are a lot of good planes at 5.7 BR, but yeah it's very strong.
I've been experiencing the same stutters when getting crits and kills, 7700k and 1080ti so it has to be on Gajin's end.

Incredible to see you flying one of my most beloved planes. In 2016 I was really into grinding the Germans, and this and the Ta152 C-3 were my go to grind planes. I still love it nowadays, the airspawn makes it OP af.

I know it's a year late but finding your videos has made me a better pilot and helped me figure out how to fly planes that were a struggle for me to succeed in before. The Ta-152 is just one of those planes; before, Spitfires were preying on me, now, they are my prey. In all seriousness, thank you. Despite the BR raise and insane repair bill, I love flying this plane now.

Quick question, how does your average RB match usually look like? It's obvious that the stuff you post on RUclips is cherrypicked, but I'd love to know how you usually get on. Because that match, for example, would be a once-in-a-lifetime match for me. Also, do you put a lot of thought into your maneuvers and moves or do you mostly stick to your instincts?
I average over 2 kills per game, so it's a few kills per game. Indeed I show the interesting stuff/carries, but that's not necessarily always high kill games. I had a 8 kill I185 match, but it was just me killing everyone at low altitude and it was boring af so I deleted the footage.
It's both. On unfamiliar planes I think more.

"Screen Freeze" on hits and kills. I thought it was because I'm on console, although I use a LAN cable at 85MBPS. This is definitely a Gaijin issue

Because Germany doesn’t have the most undertiered planes like the K-4, Ta 152s and the mid-tier F-4. Combined with the most overpowered 20mm in the game.
Same here. I can keep my own bomber hunting but I'm a shit dog fighter so it's not worth the cost for me to fly this out now

Not really, Spitfires turn better. What you can do is given the right situation, you can use combat/takeoff flaps to go for the shot on a Spitfire that isn't going very fast. That isn't outturning though.

Nice vid as always. Do you think I should be dogfighting F4U-4B's? I tried it because of the MER but the F4U's tendency to bleed more energy just allowed him to stay on my six and then his huge flaps and engine allowed him to stall after me.

If he's behind you you'll have trouble making him overshoot due to your MER. In a neutral merge, yeah you can dogfight it.

@@AdamTheEnginerd very interesting, the extent of my knowledge about energy retention was that in a k4 I can bait a heavier plane with a lovely spiral climb.
You're mostly using the K4's climb in that situation.

I believe that screen freeze has been a bug for months now, it always does it whenever I kill a Wyvern.
It's been a lot worse since the update with A2Ds.
You can compare the in game repair cost for this plane to Germany debt after wwl.

I am trying to make early fw 190s work but i really don't know how. They are just too slow and sluggish. Could you give me some advice?
Stay close to your team and collect baits. You won't be outmanruvering much in a 190.

It is awful to spade but if spaded it is awesome.
If you want a 190 without shitty stock grind, either take some GE and spade your favourite or buy the D13 bundle.
D13 is so fun to fly
When you master the Fw190A you can master every plane.
I would say if you plan your maneuvers really good you can fight allone against an enemy fighter and the roll is good so you can make aiming very difficult especially for the fighters with wing mounted guns.
The very first As are quite good after all.
I played the 190A5 and A8s that much that I just can play 190As, Ta 152C and heavy fighters of the Germans, planes like the Ta 152H and 109 feel very unnatural for me and I tend to play too risky in them.
JG 301 operated about 20 152H-1s in the last ten or so weeks of the war, providing top cover for the Me 262 airbases still hopelessly trying to defend the Reich. Not much was achieved, because low altitude patrol was not really what the H was built for. The C model, which would have worked much better in that role, was coming off the assembly lines when Hitler ate a bullet.
Both models weren't suited for low altitude.
Before the nerf i had 4:1 kd in it but after the nerf,it went to 2:1.But i think the plane is still very good.
Hmm I think it's still close, but yeah Ta152H was nerfed in that department.

Its BR is too high. Should be same as VK.
Yak 3U faces jets all the time and can´t reach more then 700KMH in a dive, that´s the reason no one play this thing. Is like a dog chasing cars.
Yea saw that too although it has a top speed of 635 kph at sea level, very good p/w ratio and great handling

screen freezing happens a lot when you get damage on: Wyvern, Narval and I've heard A2Ds.

Regarding your freezes on Kills,
if you have a Nvidia Graphics Card try turning off the Highlight system, saving those clips might cause freezes sometimes.

This plane has been my favorite T4 german plane for a very long time. Gaijin has messed with the FM alot over the years but the Ta always seemed to have something about it where you could always just energy fight your way out of the problem. Also, I'm not the greatest K4 pilot on earth but I always find that the Ta out-guns, out-dives, and out-turns the K4.
Outdives depends on your metric, but the other 2 yeah.
@@AdamTheEnginerd My metric for out diving is that it rips later and doesn't compress as bad near its red-line.
I love it too, I once trolled a spit just like you would have done it: turn turn turn while he is losing losing losing (energy).
Most times I play the C however.
Trolling the clipped wing Spitfires are especially fun.

God your aim is so good. Sometimes I struggle with 30mm cannons, they are so slow.
Still the plane is no OP, but Gaijin still raised the repair cost. I like the plane but that repair cost keeps me away, especially when I am low on SL.
It has been nerfed though, I think it's fine at 6.0 as is.

It doesn't inherently improve your accuracy, it's not COD. It just limits your field of view in a game where awareness is key.
Seems the German cannons are unusually reliable and effective currently.
Back when I still played the game, you needed to empty half your ammo load into a single enemy fighter to get a kill and from what I have heard, that hadn't changed for quite some time after my departure.
It has always been the case that every 3rd patch or so, the German cannons suddenly got good and then they got nerfed again 3 or 4 days later.
They felt wonderful before I left Germans to fly the soviets, came back coupd not get a simgle kill from the (what feels like the total in accuracy) and just sparks.
Also I would actually take allied cannons any day over 151s
They are more consistent than other cannons.
The k4 109 and the ta152 are my fav German planes I always do well in them

Adam, did you practice shooting without zoom? Whenever I prepare to shoot, I always zoom-in first.
I know how effective shooting w/o zoom is.
But it is pretty hard for me. Should I practice it to be a better player?
I just never got into zooming, since it doesn't inherently increase gun accuracy. I don't recommend zooming if you can help it.
Ta152 getting air spawn is like the f100 getting air spawn, except f100 doesnt
F100 did, and still got recked by Mig19.

@@AdamTheEnginerd The timing :d just when i unlocked it... Do you have any tips how to use it properly? Since most of the time when i want to try it out i am one of few 6.0s and my instadeaths always feel like a letdown to the rest of the team. Which makes trying to get the hang of it feel bad.
Stick to the Ta152H, and stay close to teammates when stock. Retreat and bait to teammates if you don't have the energy advantage against aircraft that outturn you.
Have you done a video on the P51 D5? I find that one tough to fight the axis in. Maybe the German bomber spam made it not as rough.
I haven't yet. If the rudder wasn't trash it might be fine.

What's MER? And, which planes would you recommend for somebody who's learning how to do dogfighting, or what you think is an enjoyable progression for planes? I'm entering rank 3 so it will be hard to motivate myself to spade every vehicle, like before (I'm focusing on german tanks and planes at the moment)
Maneuvering Energy Retention. Essentially it's a measure of how much energy (speed) an aircraft loses when maneuvering. Different aircraft will lose speed at different rates depending on their power, weight, wing, geometry, etc. I did some tests and made a video explaining it if you're interested: ruclips.net/video/wLA8cspXbbE/видео.html

Yeah the FM got nerfed, turns a bit worse, flaps are less effective and actually rip now. I recommend using combat flaps in a dogfight.

Why does some of war thunder youtubers have their fps at 60fps?? Is it the monitor only 60hz or is there other reason to this?
