    I like the recent recording from a show at a small fairground which begins with Tim apologizing for having blown out the speakers so early in the show, but goes on to explain that it could be worse, like this one time early in their career when they were playing at an equally small fairground and Tim hit a low note and knocked out power to the entire fair. He explains that it was really the fault of the local electrician, because they were running all power lines to a single source. "So anyway, I hit a low note and stranded people on the ferris wheel."

      I don’t know if he used that anecdote at multiple shows, but he definitely used it at the Gallia County fair in Ohio on 8/1/24. I was there. They had to cut the show very short because a big storm rolled in. 😔

    2 of the funniest stories i´ve heard about Tims low notes 1. Tim and Austin talking about who´s getting the Set piece Austin says that a man in the front was so blown away by Adam´s drumsolo that his wife had to pull him dowm so Tim gives him the paper and says you got some good seats right next to the speakers you dont have a pacemaker and the guy says yes i do they all breaks down in laughter and Austin says maybe we should move you to some safe seats and Tim says i dont think our insurrence covers that 2. At his birthday bash he says that the best reaction to him hitting a really low note was when he dropped down and actually KNOCKED A LADYS TEETH OUT

    • @pennymaple1817
      @pennymaple1817 2 месяца назад +1

      I may be mistaken but that was the same birthday bash that he sang Josh Turner's Would You Go With Me and the feedback generated shock waves? Tim was really concerned for the lady sitting next to the sub-woofers, with whom he and Chris Chatham had a bit of banter with.. it was really funny! Geoff from Voice Play said during an interview with another reactor that he & Tim became good friends when they appeared on the same season of The Sing Off. He said he thinks Tim is actually the most talented vocalist he knows! He revealed that it was Tim who taught him how to hit & hold those sub lows without losing the sound of the note. I'd say that Geoff was a great student! 💖

    Not the last time this happened. And Adam Rupp has also blown speakers during his drum solo. Gotta love these guys. I always love seeing Rob lose it. And now that you've seen this, you need to watch their latest version from the Crazier Life album.

    You would really love it at a live concert when Tim hits those low notes. The floors, the seats and your whole body vibrates. That's not an exaggeration. Home Free had to start bringing their own sound equipment on tour because they couldn't count on the venues having the proper speakers to handle those low notes. Now they travel with a big bus pulling a large trailer accompanied by a huge truck for all their lighting and stage platforms. The colored light show, multi-level staging, and fog machine are a long way from that simple stage show in this fun video, but they are still fantastic down-to-earth guys.

    First time, but definitely not the last!
    Tim Foust's voice needs to be weaponized deliberately, considering the fact that he's done it more than once accidentally. Let's point that thing where it can do some good! Thanks so much for sharing that one, DJ. What fun!

    Tim, Adam Rupp, and Avi Kaplan have all blown out speakers. Geoff was asked if he has ever done that and (paraphrasing, I can't recall the quote) he teasingly said something like "No, we use GOOD speakers." Ouch, haha! The love-rivalry between acapella groups is awesome. However, speakers probably have nothing to do with it. My brother-in-law is a soundman for a local rock band, and he said that since they know just how low Tim sings, they'd have HELLA good subwoofers. When any bass singer hits those ungodly depths, the actual volume is super soft, and the soundman has to crank the subwoofer to MAX volume just so we can hear, then ease back as he rises in pitch and the frequencies get faster and louder. If this volume modification isn't timed right, suddenly the speaker is too loud for what it's built to handle.
    If you listen, that low growl is LOUD, shocking the crowd. It's meant to shake the earth, yet he doesn't blow the speaker at that low note, which my brother-in-law says proves they are really good speakers. It isn't until he's almost halfway up in his slide, once he picks up frequency and volume, then the speaker blows. So my brother-in-law says it's the volume, not the low frequency, and added, "They should fire their soundman and hire me" LOL!
    But let's face it. Tim is just too powerful for his own good. His voice is a force of nature!
    Also, agreed about the roadies. They don't get enough credit. The fact that they fixed it in about a minute was awesome.

    Tim's done so at least twice & Adam Rupp's blown the system once. I remember an interview in which one of them said that venues are given specific technical specs for the sound system to try to prevent this. If you haven't seen the video "Tim Foust's vibrations" - it's jaw-dropping. BTW - Austin has a video now for "Hers Ain't Mine" (on his channel).😃😃

    Home Free has four or five videos of them doing Josh Turner's Your Man and they all have the guys reacting to Tim taking the high notes, with the first one titled Your Man (LIVE) in February 2014, and the latest one in June 2024 (with all the reddish tea light candles) being the mildest reactions. At the actual live shows is were we get the wilder reactions. The ones titled Home Free (Tim Foust) performs Your Man by Josh Turner and Home Free's Your Man - Crazy Life Tour are the ones I'm thinking about, the ones I think of as the "tag me" numbers. You'll get that when you see them.

    So bored with people fangirling over some low notes. Tim has a lovely baritone but his bass sounds like a bullfrog to me. And I'm not sure why people witter on about his range - isn't it more important what you do with your voice? Music is an art, not competitive sport.

      If you look at the reaction DJ is having in this screengrab, you'll notice he is laughing because he didn't know when it would come. The shock and joy comes from that. The comment about power is not necessarily about how deep he can sing, and we know DJ loves when Tim sings high from the recent reaction to My Maria with Austin Brown. It is essentially just an opinion that the insanity of Tim's voice alone being what ruined the speakers is powerful.
