    wow, excellent demonstration of bunkai. Really like how you show how to realistically practice it, and gradually progress from simple to full applications.

    Maestro Didier , perfetto bunkai da un grandissimo Sensei. Sono perle di bellezza quelle che lei ci dona, di un Karate mai visto in Italia dove abito, spero di conoscerla un giorno. Grazie la seguo da sempre! Continui a pubblicare altro prego.

    On a bossé ce soir Unsu au dojo. J ai revu ton bunkai car j étais coincé sur une interpretation, car plus fait depuis un moment: la séquence 6 … je me disais, avec ces 2 mains qui se rejoignent, mais q est ce q on peut inventer d autre q un Kame Hame A ????!!! 😅 (Ceux qui ne comprennent pas devront revoir leurs classiques ….🐉😉)

    I do not think that kake te is intended to be a palm heel strike (it certainly isn't in kanku dai), but okay.

    With all due respect to Sensei Didier, I disagree with his interpretations in techniques 2 and 6. There he interprets what is in fact kake te, a block, as instead a palm heel to the face. Kake te is a really useful parry (also found in Kanku Dai and Bassai Dai), more so in many respects than shuto uke. It is a staple in Chinese styles like hung gar and the various iterations of Shaolin, where you can see it performed in their forms exactly as it appears in Unsu. As Unsu is the most Chinese influenced of all the Shotokan forms, it is highly unlikely that the author of the form intended it to be anything more than it already appears, a parry.
