Idk the exact statement but something along the line of "since I have already done 2 dramas and one movie on action I want to explore more of the other genres, especially the romcoms". Besides, he did most of his stunts and that is very physical. Maybe he had other concerns, maybe not.

He will always be my favourite Korean actor. I just wish he hadn't given up action dramas - I mean, he's MADE to be awesome. His rom-coms aren't in the same league (though I did love Suspicious Partner).
