It happened with Craig Ferguson, I remember Craig sound so Scottish back in 2005, however by the time he was interviewing Stephen Fry in 2008 his Scottish accent had faded, and now in 2020 it is faded a lot. My accent had vanished - I used to be Northern Irish, but since living among English people, I have now reverted to a sort of RP accent

By his description James had recurrent corneal erosion. The “surgery” is typically micro puncture of the surface to help anchor the epithelium. Little bit of a stretch to call it surgery. Not done in an OR. Hope he recovers well (most do).

I had that procedure done for recurrent erosion. It hurts for a day after the topical wears off in an hour.

Keep in mind most eye procedures are done with the patient awake. Cataract, refractive surgery, and injections for Macular Degeneration are some examples.

Yes he does, generally drive. On THAT occasion he couldnt see well enough to drive, so used the tow.
