i was born in 72 and love the hell out of old school rock but groups like this really make me appreciate people with talent , i just wish there was more of it around so i would not stick to songs i grew up with. not that there is anything wrong with that but there needs to be more groups with great songs like this
This is my awesome old school jam and era and yet my youngest son at 21 knows this like it was his own song. I'm so proud I raised him and his 2 older siblings with the greatest era of my life and old school jam like no other since. "Let's flip the track and bring the ole school back" please and this is how I'm doin' it, still bumpin! DS
Good for you. Let the people who weren't born in the 90's enjoy where they first heard the song. At least they have good taste in music. Who cares where they first heard it?
Lesly Remy Jr. I find it funny how you didn't respond to the guy who your comment is about directly. You had to wait until someone sided with before you said anything. It seems like you're the one taking the comment personally. He didn't use foul language. He didn't call you out of your name. All he said was "Let the people who weren't born in the 90's enjoy where they first heard the song." I don't know why people like you feel the need to say things like "Being alive during the 90's brought me here!" You know exactly why you're saying. For whatever reason, you can't stand people knowing the songs from video game, movies, etc so you have to make your comment as if you;re saying "Shame on you for not knowing the song" Whatever. Just like Arctic Records said. At least they have good taste in music. Who cares where they hear it first.
paultorres You're kidding me right? I really hope you're not referring to this comment "Good for you. Let the people who weren't born in the 90's enjoy where they first heard the song. At least they have good taste in music. Who cares where they first heard it?" As coming off as an "e thug" How exactly is he being an online thug? I would love to know how. You act like he cursed the guy out, and threatened to kill him for saying "Being alive during the 90's brought me here!" Smh. I just can't.
I went to the bar last night, And shortly after I showed up. This song start playing, And throughout the entire time I was there not only was this song the only song that got a pop. It was also the only song that was fully acknowledged by everyone when it started playing. Just proving that new music sucks ass.
Not really “proving new music is ass,” (although I agree a lot is.) more so proving no new song that they were playing was as big or iconic like this song. 🤷🏽♀️
+Jenevieve Womack yeah.. just like every generation lmao people forgrt songs like tootsie roll and baby got back happened theres gonna be god and bad music for every generation
Absolutely. There's great music and terrible music with every generation. Today's good music is actually very good. But the thing is, radio stations and cable networks (if they even air music anymore) have grown complacent and only play what has guaranteed them the money even though they won't make them a dime in 10 years time. Madonna's not a draw anymore. Most of what you hear nowadays is either forgettable, crap, or forgettable crap. The reason this is happening is because acts that were completely forgotten about for nearly a decade at a time (Fall Out Boy/Maroon 5/Brittany Spears/Train/etc.) or oversaturated acts who put out 12 hits an album (Katy Perry/Taylor Swift/Drake/Beyonce) receive opportunity after opportunity before execs even fathom the thought of searching for the next top act. This is also why mostly young people are listening to today's hit music. When they grow older they'll fall out of music for the most part. They'll get tired of the same old formula and stick to what they were bred; we all have. It's a never-ending cycle. The only difference is, execs will continue to put out the same thing until one generation comes where every song is the exact same song.
I vaguely recall hearing "bits and pieces" of this song back in the 1990s; but thanks to finding this RUclips, now I get to hear the whole thing. It ROCKS!
its a good song when i heard it the first time i was enjoying it while i went to find and kill zinkak i love saints row 4 i cant wait till they make a 5th
This 90's baby is sad that we are referring to this song as Old Skool. :( I'm too old to be considered a stupid kid, too young to be considered wise. Stuck in the middle with this great song though :)
Ha! Aww, this is the first time I have ever been asked to marry someone on youtube! Too cute and funny, like your name implies. :P What kind of a girl would I be if I didn't dig NIN?!

It’s amazing how the hiphop evolved music culture. This song was paying homage to Slick Ricks “old school track” called “Children’s story” (montell even rapped a story on it) But the irony is Montell sampled Slick Rick whom sampled Bob James song called “Nautius” That’s well over 50 years of music ... and all were culture shifting hits 👌🏿👌🏿👌🏿👌🏿
