Well the question of how many continents are there has multiple answers based on where you're from. If you're from America or Europe most likely you've been taught America is split into 2 continents, North and South. In most parts of Asia and Africa though, there's only the America continent.
As a Brazilian we learn that America is a single continent too. Which is then POLITICALLY divided into North, Central and South America. I mean it's not that odd considering just how much we're required to know about European geography, at least here in Croatia. Who tf knows what's the 4th biggest lake in Sweden and 3rd biggest city in the Czech Republic? Well those questions might appear on our exams. But in our curriculum stands that we have to know all the Asian countries by name, where they are on the map, name their capitals, what religion is the majority there, what climate they belong to, roughly in what category does their BDP go to and recognize and name some significant landmarks (like the Taj Mahal, Angkor Wat). I think that's more than a lot of other European countries teach in school. I was even asked in an exam "In what country and city are the Petronas towers?" and "What country was Rangoon the capital of?".
Here I thought it was just Americans who were this bad at geography. Like, I thought it was bad in the last geography class I took in school (which was an *honors* class) that almost none of them could name more than 10 states of the US (honestly, a good number of them couldn't even name 5 of them...), let alone anything outside the US. But I'm pretty sure even THEY could've named the 7 continents properly, even if they would've made the same or similar mistakes to the rest of the ones Mika made here. xD
We had to name as much american states as we could and show them on the map (I think my class' best named about 20), and we have competitions for those who can name pretty much all of them
@@nutella7162 Yeah our teacher gave us a blank map of the US to label and see how many we could name, but found out she had her work cut out for her as most people got 10 or less. A few got around 20. She had to keep asking "Everyone done?" because I had no problem naming all 50, but couldn't write them all down that fast. xD
Ironically I know all the countries in Europe, Asia, South America, and Oceania but can't name many US states. I have no idea why but I for some reason never retained the knowledge. Though I could probably just easily learn them by looking it over once or twice.
If only Mika knew what a mess the nordic region is with names. Ramble: Okay, so, scandinavia is the areas around the scandes mountain range, and it includes Norway, Sweden, and Denmark. "Wait, why Denmark?" you may ask, well, it's because of cultural ties with the other two. "Then where's Finland", only the northern tip is barely in the scandes, and the rest is in its own peninsula, together forming the Fennoscandia region. Then what's nordic? Union of all the previous ones plus Iceland. So basically, scandinavia is 3 countries and a geographic region, Fennoscandia is 4 countries and a geographic region, Nordic is a political union of 5 countries.
You know I actually searched it up, and, _apparently_ , there is actually a town called Sweden in the USA, located in the state of New York. So, no Sweden is not a city, but it is a town.
They also called as Continent Oceania the area that covers from the Australian Territory to the countries in the pacific ocean like new zealand, vanuatu, solomon, etc
What? I've literally never met someone this bad at Geography. Ok, so Sweden is a city in Ireland, which is in the continent of the UK. Like seriously. As another European (not swedish tho) we wrongly call every British isle the UK even when sometimes its not the case and we know it.
Near UK
@@teethcoat4274 still a surefire way to get shanked by an irishman
I love how all the japanese in Prof's accent just left when he said "what the fuck?"
OH MY GOD I HEARD IT- THAT DUDE SOUNDED WHOLE AMERICAN FOR A SEC- it shows that enough mind boggle can give someone a whole different accent
"You have been around Mysta too much"
Omggg Ike this is so REAL 😂😂😂😂
Ah yes the continents sCAnDiNAvIA AnD u.K.
After watching Enna's and Mika's geoguesser stream yea she's always been like this
1:21 Now Ike's the one who's wrong. That kind of talk will get you killed around here, hahah
in 1 year Ike's voice changed a lot 🤭 I think it's gotten deeper
Was laughing at this clip real hard and told it to my cousin (Indonesian) and she went "wait Sweden isn't a city???"
I think its the Indonesian debuff making us shit at geography.
First we had the British debuff, now it's the Indonesian Debuff
2:29 Australia isn't a continent though, it's a country in Oceania. (If you want to count Australia as a continent, then there're 4 continents: America, Antarctica, Australia, and Afroeurasia.)
Nijiloud: "Vox Alban and Mysta, oh yeah Mysta gets complain from his neighbour"
Lmao no wonder.
OMG I LOVE THE RANDOM RELATIONS MIKA MADE UP ROFLLL
I didn't know brainrot is infectious. Glad to have learned this, but it seems Mysta took Mika to brainrot hell
I think Mika's always been stupid, it's just that when she hangs out with Mysta she gets to stand back and let Mysta say all the dumb shit.
Those nails in Mika's Ghost Brain aren't helping her.
That and hanging around Mysta can be contagious.
The Irish are fuming right now
The Duolingo sfx sent a shiver down my spine
I'm beginning to think Mika might not have had the best geography teacher in school.
Now I'm questioning my own sanity
Mika starting to share braincells with Mysta. sibling energy 🤣🤣🤣🤣
"whats your favourite city?"
"Sweden."
Ike slowly losing his mind is to funny
This is what i call entertainment
0:41 his accent comes out so much when he’s mad
Mika: Where the fuck is Ireland?
Ike: In the U.K.!
"Well yes, but actually no."
do you think if ike didnt mention UK mika would know where that is lol
GOD SAVE OUR GRACIOUS KING....!! RULE BRITANNIA!!
I showed this to my friend from Northern Ireland and I think he suffered a stroke
nah there are e i g h t continents, y’all forgetting the nOrTh pOle
With every moment I grow more and more concerned for mika if she ever goes abroad... She'll be trying to go to the states, wind up in freaking tibet...
I almost failed gegography but I'm not that dumb...
1:19 Ike was too angry even the audio lagged
"North America is a continent"
Me on latam: ceasing to exist after that statement on Mika's mind
It's kinda weird though, like South America is a continent but then there's Central America, which I don't know what that's considered to be
@@dum5882 Central America is geographically part of North America. The continent North America is divided into the region of Central America and Canada+the US(Which is also call North America)
@@RoseSiames But it's called Central America, that makes no sense to be part of North America when you are called Central America! (This is a joke)
@@dum5882 the continents depends onw here you live lol, here in latin america we have 5? America, Europe, Asia, Africa, Oceania, im sure in other places there are 6 or 7
@@jzesu9889do you think it's just more simple to call it Asia unless someone ask us to be specific lol (im southeast asia btw)
pls Mika I was on your side during the was vs. were argument
At 1.21 you can hear car explosions
0:54 Ike became vocaloid for a moment there
As someone who lives in sweden I just have on thing to say....
Emotional damage
And I thought I was bad at Geography, oh my god
Mysta and Mika are truly something else when it comes to shit like this lmao
To be fair, this is about on par with how much the average European knows about SEA
Would have been the same if it was Africa or South America...
He even says Ireland is in the UK so he deosn't even know his own continent that well.
@@DoctorDeath147 To be fair a lot of people will confuse Ireland and Northern Ireland, what from them having very similar names and what from simply not knowing. People also often know that there are "two Irelands" but don't know which is which. Maybe he meant Northern Ireland, who knows
I was even asked in an exam "In what country and city are the Petronas towers?" and "What country was Rangoon the capital of?".
i would disagree
After Mousey’s SOTD episode with Mysta, I can say this is an accurate comparison.
3:03 that OH! GOOD LUCK! WOW! OKAY! BYE! got me🤣🤣🤣
piece or trivia for y'all: there is a town in New York named Sweden. So Mika is not utterly off her rocker.
THERE IS??
1:20 I hope Ike doesn't have a car.
If only Mika knew what a mess the nordic region is with names.
Ramble:
Okay, so, scandinavia is the areas around the scandes mountain range, and it includes Norway, Sweden, and Denmark.
So basically, scandinavia is 3 countries and a geographic region,
Fennoscandia is 4 countries and a geographic region,
Nordic is a political union of 5 countries.
Still love how Finnish People have ties with mongolians.
screenshoting this bcs i always thought finland is part of Scandinavia
don't forget Estonia's quest to be recognised as a nordic country too!
@@SwedishBroManDude >swedish flag
>"fight to the last finn"
seems accurate, the swedes would like to use the finns as sacrifices for their bs.
@@saf1732 Don't worry. A lot of scandinavians make the same mistake. Frankly, it's not an often used category.
SIIIIR Ireland is it's own country. Only the north is in the UK. 😭😭
You know I actually searched it up, and, _apparently_ , there is actually a town called Sweden in the USA, located in the state of New York.
So, no Sweden is not a city, but it is a town.
>please understand, Mika has a giant nail in her brain
jek
Getting mad at someone else’s geography fails and then saying Ireland is in the UK.
and she seemed so proud too for knowing that there were 7 continents lol
How…how do you lose that much knowledge like that, I swear every niji member who’s name starts with M is cursed to be a little daft.
Big England is my city energy right here...
Wait if Australia is a continent, would New Zealand be in Australia?
I don't think we exist...
They also called as Continent Oceania the area that covers from the Australian Territory to the countries in the pacific ocean like new zealand, vanuatu, solomon, etc
I believe New Zealand is part of Zealandia, which is mostly underwater.
Im gonna miss Mika so much
What? I've literally never met someone this bad at Geography. Ok, so Sweden is a city in Ireland, which is in the continent of the UK. Like seriously. Sure we weren't taught every country in the world in school, but man, how sheltered do you have to be to not know the 7 continents. She guessed them with the guys' help.
Meanwhile Mysta: "What's a continent?"
@@CougheePls I'm gonna give them the benefit of the doubt and say they just didn't know what that word meant in English.
Etna saying "fuck that i'm out." was the funniest part of the video.
OMG..... I can't defend Mika in this one, I'm actually malding alongside with Ike😂😂
