Can we just take a second to appreciate the fact Vitek laid down the drums for the OG version at a whopping 16.5 years old....RIP, a legend taken too soon
What?! Dude was nuts. Weird thing is that I remember having a moment with him during a show. He saw me looking at him from the crowd while he was drumming, and he looked me straight in the eye. I nodded and he nodded back, then we both continued with our head banging, haha. It was one on of the Summer Slaughter tours with Necrophagist--wow, what a time.
@@SkunkDozer It's easy to forget, but Vitek died when he was just 23. He left this world at 23 years young, but metal didn't and will never forget him. Rest in power.
Derek Boyer, I fucking love that guy, instantly recognizable just by the way he plays his bass. Frank nailed it, playing Vitek's drum parts is very tough.
Matt should use that style of growl in cryptopsy, specially when singing lord worm stuff, I like the open kind of saound that him and Mike Desalvo have, but broooo WHAT A BRUTAL LOW WE GOT HERE, in combination with his other techniques it would be REALLY BRUTAL
Definitely. A lot of people shit on Matt but I actually like his vocals. Especially on the self titled album. He pretty much did the same style on that album that he’s doing here. Brutal vocals
@@The_JustJoshing He definitely kills it live with Cryptopsy. I think he's a super-versatile screamer and he sounds great. It's not his fault he had to sing over some garbage Flo wrote on the first album he sang on.
@@Kwert that album is not that bad at all. And it wasn't Flo doing all the writing. There was an entire band. That album gets way to much hate from people who clearly didn't listen to it.
Post(?) Organix is almost like the sequel to spheres of madness. It's between those two tracks for sure for me with three dimensional defect, right behind
It's really catchy and probably their most instantly recognisable song, but it's far from their best work. It's not even in the top 3 on the Nihility album for me.
@Michael Lochlann Agreed, on any other album Spheres Of Madness would probably be the standout title track. But compared to the rest of the Nihility album, it's a relatively tame and uneventful song. But it is one hell of a catchy headbanger!
That's a common problem with death metal record companies for some reason they also turn the vocals down rather than up which seems backwards as hell to me
These slay at home videos are just more and more badass. I love these fuckin things. Always sound so good lol. And suffocations bassist has always made bass cool as FUCK.
I cannot truly describe what Death Metal does to/for me, the words escape me. No other style of music gives me the chills like it does, minus a few true Thrash bands out there. This was just pristine. Bravo dudes, bravo. Thanks for the goose-bumps!!! \m/
This Sounds Badass, i am not a Vocalist and don't know about something being [ In Synch.// Out of Synch.] I just know this Song Rocks like Hell!!! I 🤘🤘🤘🤘
God damn, this is truly Amazing. The original song was great but this is even better. Who ever came up with this slay at home videos was a genius. So far everything I’ve seen from this channel has been unbelievable. 🔥🎸
Derek Boyer has to be the most metal bass player ever.
Indeed
Alex Webster ftw
Dude from Origin rips hard too
He's great, but earlier Suffocation's bassist Chris Richards was better, just listen to Pierced From Within and you will understand.
Nah that's steve digiorgio

Vitek will forever be missed.
Move over Alex 🤘
Partied with Suffo a few years back in Glasgow and they were all brand new. Terrence Hobbs especially is a credit to the human race.
@@beefcheeks9353 Hobbs such a cool guy to talk to.
Lol saw Suffocation open for Arch Enemy in 2008, he played the whole set like that, was fuckin sick
These should never end. After the pandemic is a distant memory this should still be a thing.
Agreed, the pandemic had some positives.
Agree this should still be a thing in the metal community
I saw "Spheres of madness" in the thumbnail and now I'm here - and not disappointed!
Nihility one of the coolest albums ever 🤘😎🤘Spheres of Madness cool piece
some of the best tech death to this day!
@@FamilyGuyRoks6 I can only agree with you man!!
Early Decapitated is the pinnacle of tech death. Groovy as fuck.
I’m more of an Organic Hallucinocis guy myself but they were both so, so good.
derek plays with this energy instantly you're like damn this dude is sick. seeing him live was awesome.
Matt's facial expressions are a treat. Haha
In my humble opinion as a 34 year death metal fan this is one of the most almost perfect songs. Top 3
The Suffocation bassist's stance is the best hahah! Epic!
That birds-eye maple fretboard! 😍
Matt really nailed the decapitated style growl! The whole thing sounds great
If there's anybody else that can top the solid *"bassmanship"* of CC's *Alex Webster,* then it's definitely none other than *Derek Boyer.*
The Akercocke shirt... yeessssss
I was gonna type just that! Love this Brits!
SPECTACULAR! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
DECAPITATED is an absolute pride to POLAND 🇲🇨
& this lineup an absolute pride to MUSIC 🌎
EXTREME METAL FOREVER ✊🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🔥
Wrong flag. 🇵🇱
The vocals sound great. Closer to Saurons guttural growl.
This song is incapable of getting old

Absolute scorcher no doubt, but can we take a moment to recognize that he's playing that bass at _knee_ height?? Insane stuff
He plays like that live if you ever seen Suffocation
Only way to get into an upright position that he likes to play in. Pretty badass🤘🏼
Should see the bassist from Church of Misery, makes this guy look like he has his bass uncomfortably high
INSANE? BACK IN THE DAYS WE USE TO CALL IT "RIDICOLOUS"
If I remember correctly, he played double bass as a kid.
Can we appreciate that the singer made a freakin music video all by himself! What a badass!!
Greatest Decapitated song ever written.

My favorite Decapitated song by far. And those guys were just like 15 years old when they recorded it, were they not?
RIP Vitek! Do some Nasum next!
Something about Matt's vocals track not syncing properly or is it just me?
Same here
I'm feeling the same
It does sound out. Shame, he absolutely nailed it!
Yes, video is for performance but audio was recorded later
Quite off actually
Monstrous. Finally this song gets the production it deserved. Boyers bass is fucking savageeeee. And big up the Akercocke representin

i see no mention of Cult of Lilith, everyone go check them out they're incredible!
Great band!
Great cover. Damn great band, there's a reason why Earache used this song as their theme song.
Decapitated!!!!!\m/ Perfect cover guys \m/ greetings from Poland \m/
This is just great! Matt's vocals here is great too! The added humour is a nice touch and I enjoyed it.
This cover is phenomenal! Loving the video production
This is Madness🤘
Amazing cover. Was just blasting this on the way home!
!! The individual tones and harmonies blend wonderfully. Love everything about the heavy chill hard style!!
Derek is the coolest bass player in the whole fucking world, pure death metal energy
I met and hung out with him after a show in my hometown Louisville. One of the coolest mf's in death metal.
rip vitek .... dude was a hell of a drummer. hard to imagine decapitated writing this shit at the ages they were.
Great guys covering this great band
Holy shit Matt's vox are sick.
Awesome cover!
I expected to be dissapointed by the vocals, but here I am loving it. Matt fits this format way more than he does in Cryptopsy.
I fully agree, he sounds amazing here, but I feel like his track is a little out of sync and it's fucking with the groove of the song
Matt has been great with Cryptopsy since the beginning, and sounds even sicker live.
@@ibfreely8952 Man wich álbum you would recommend me?
