I think it's not the mic, it's the venue itself. The venue is much bigger than the last GBB. So the sound system that Sinjo prepare this GBB is different than the last one.
I agree, because of how huge it was we had way too much reverb and panning. If we cut out the second half of the venue where almost no one was sitting and put a wall there, everything would sound way better. I figured that the best sound was next to the livestream table where Freddy and Hobbit were sitting. The worst audio was probably at the very front
The sound in the hall itself was meh, there were lots of problems with feedback in the elims e.g. but also in between sometimes.. I thought the bass was turned up too much which let the sound waves resonate with each other quite often and the mids & heights were barely there. Also mentioning that imo there were lots of malfucntions happening every day.. it's kinda sad since through that alot just didn't reach the crowd which would have sounded awesome live.. I am looking forward to the vids on SBX when they upload the battles fully mastered, to see how it should have sounded live. But next to that I think by now gbb has reached a size with all the different categories, where it's not possible for Sinjo alone to do everything live. How long they were taking for the sound checks etc. and still had sound problems shows me that they need more people taking care of the sound..
I can vouch for that it sounded trash especially first day, reeps one was pretty mad about it, after vocodah's round everyone mic checked before starting. Vocodah shoulve got a redo imo but hey im not swissbeatbox so...
If u know anything about sound mastering you should know that mastering music in general is the polar opposite of mastering bbx videos. Hence why beatbox sound engineers are a rarity. Swiss should teach this stuff under the supervision of pepouni and sinjo how to master bbx videos
They said multiple times during the steams that the final videos on sbx usually go through hours of mixing and mastering to make sure they sound good on YT, so dw guys it will be great once they upload this.

I honestly think it sounded good... Anyone who has tried inward bass knows how heavy it is on your throat and vocal chords, takes a lot of practice to build endurance, and sometimes it's harder to find the correct vibration pitch on stage when you just have to "activate" without searching the vibration first. It is memory and practice like many sounds of course but I think inward bass can be trickier because of the pitch, that's why inertia is such an op beast he dominates those vibrations rarely misses. Even heavy inward users like D-low, Tomazacre, B-art, sometimes can't quite get the perfect vibration and pitch during live performance, be it fatigue or just missing the pitch and vibration. It's really a very difficult technique to do with pitch. I practice inward all the time for over 4 months I just barely started to get good vibration but I have zero control over pitch it's very difficult technique on it's own, if you try to pitch it's even harder.
Bruh Vocodah is my favorite beatboxer in the world but this does not sound good. I don't know if its the mic or the venue or if he just choked but compare this to his twitch streams and the sound quality is not even close. It sounds like whoever ran the sound muted the highs and mids and only let the lows come through.
The quality was fine. Everyone’s complaining about the levels of bass/mid/high range frequency. It’s all super complicated and I don’t know it myself just have an idea from watching a lot of this stuff. But basicly the volume isn’t the issue, nor is the “quality”, it’s that today’s beatboxers are using the whole range of frequencies and people like vocodah use a range of frequencies Within the bass. With this sound set up the only thing being properly boosted is low range bass, So the beat sounds good, it’s loud, it’s clear… but your barely hearing a quarter of the sounds being made
