Really, Mahindra issues are very unexpected... I faced the exact issue while going towards Saach Pass, but it went into LIMP mode even before Satrundi checkpost...
Luckily, I had a small OBD Reader with me which was only showing 1 error "Boost Pressure Control Monitor Bank1".. After talking to our mechanic, he asked me to do the same (disconnect battery for about 15mins)
Even after that, it was not picking, so I decided to go back but just after 50-100 metres, suddenly there was a shock/jerk in the car, and it was back to normal... I wonder what could be the root cause of such things...

Apne khud hi explain kar diya, it's a petrol, no DPF/DEF issues as it's a petrol. Petrol gadiya problem nahi deti high altitude mai

People who are actually looking forward to travel to similar terrains should consider Jimny. I agree that there is no match in terms of size and reliability here as well. I am confident that the failure rate of Jimny vs Thar would be 1:1000 ; that is the reason its respected all over the world. Don't understand why we run behind size and looks and not practicality and reliability. Thanks for sharing this.

what if we loose the exhaust headers nuts for free air flow, in this situation ?
Will not help. Let me explain . The DPF -Diesel Particulate Filter is choked and not the exhaust system or pipe which is getting restricted. When the DPF is choked , basically soot is filled in the catalytic converter and it cannot convert the carbon and Nox gases to accepted BS6 levels. The sensor is giving signal to the ECU, the engine computer, and that is cutting fuel to engine to run at low RPM /Power or LIMP Mode. If you disconnect the headers from cylinder heads, Gas will flow out from there itself but the sensor will still give a signal to ECU that DPF is chocked. If you disconnect the DPF sensor then also there will be DPF error and same LIMP Mode. There is work around to fool the ecu by making a bypass at the sensor level

Shinkula ki Chadai jalori pass from jibhi se Kam Hai, par meri ertiga with full load and 4 passesnger Bina kisi dikkat ke par Kar gaya. Maruti cars are very underrated and others cars like thar are overrated

Hi DC, can you please make a video on what all hit and try we can do when the DPF light shows up. Also, how much km car can run once the light blinks up. Tell all insight on all the lights. I have kia sonet D. Light came when I reached sarchu in my ladakh trip. Light came in my chitkul trip. I run usually over 2k rpm when on mountains. Still it shows up. Need help

BS6 & BS6.2 cars are very much complicated especially diesels. Lots of electronics,sensors are the reason for headache. My 21 year Alto is far more reliable than my 1 year new Fortuner. Alto has never seen a break down in these two decades but my Fortuner has already seen a breakdown due to DPF & EGR malfunction that to just after 2800kms. Another headache is ADblue. Every 5-6000 kms Fortuner needs ADblue top up. I'm driving it only for love & madnees for diesel engines, low end torque & that tractor like pull. Otherwise maintainance & reliability wise BS6 diesels are very frustrating.

This is the problem with BS7 diesel cars, be it Mahindra or Gurkha. On hilly roads one cannot drive above 60 to avoid such grave issues. It is better to go for Petrol driven car on those formidable roads!
